Chapter 73: The Zhou Tian Five Immortals and the Hunyuan Nine Immortals [Requesting First Subscription]
First Qionglou.
“Brother Dao, what must be added to the character ‘immortal’ to truly make something big happen?” Jing Yao Shangzun’s interest was sharply piqued by Xiang Xuanqing’s words.
He was eager to learn Xiang Xuanqing’s next plan.
Indeed, relying on countless eons of mutual understanding, Jing Yao Shangzun was certain Xiang Xuanqing already had a scheme involving the “immortal.”
Xiang Xuanqing glanced at Jing Yao Shangzun, whose face brimmed with impatience, then at Yu Chendao Jun, who said nothing but whose gaze constantly drifted near him.
He smiled: “That’s hard to say—how could outsiders like us meddle in the affairs of Bai Yujing?”
Xiang Xuanqing was indeed ruthlessly messing with their minds.
Though he didn’t know what exactly had transpired in that recent spacetime ripple, he was certain it involved all three of them.
At this moment, messing with their minds was definitely the right move.
As for what character must be added to “immortal” to maximize disruption:
Naturally, add five characters: Heaven, Earth, Human, Spirit, Ghost!
“Within the Zhou Tian, there are Five Immortals—I could never forget that.”
But in this era, creating the Zhou Tian Five Immortals would not be easy.
Xiang Xuanqing’s mind conjured several thoughts: “To gather these five paths, I’d need to bring in many others—myself, Zhenyuanzi, Nvwa or Fuxi, the two brothers Taiyi, the two lunar goddesses, and so on.”
Xiang Xuanqing glanced at Jing Yao and Yu Chendao Jun. “Of course, also these two.”
Beyond the Zhou Tian Five Immortals, Xiang Xuanqing could even propose another plan.
That was to carve out a new realm under the name of Immortal Dao.
Currently in Honghuang, there are only two cultivation realms worth mentioning—Taiyi and Da Luo.
Taiyi is the primordial source of all things in the universe—the “Dao.”
Primordial deities coexist with the Dao, so all are Taiyi.
This describes both a level of existence and a direct expression of the Dao.
Da Luo: “Da” means vast, implying boundlessness; “Luo” means net, implying encompassing.
Da Luo is boundless, embracing all existence.
Though their names differ, both originate from the Dao.
The latter simply went further and higher, hence becoming the current term for cultivation realms.
Below the Dao, if “immortal” could carve a new path, establish operations, and seize naming rights, wouldn’t that grant authority?
“Human Immortal, Earth Immortal, Heaven Immortal; True Immortal, Mystery Immortal, Golden Immortal; Taiyi Immortal, Da Luo Immortal, Hunyuan Immortal.”
Xiang Xuanqing continued to let his thoughts wander: “But why do I feel that if I do this, I’ll need to drag in even more people?”
“To pull off this Pindixi Immortal Dao, besides our Zhou Tian Five Immortals, we’d at least need Kunlun’s Queen Mother of the West, the brothers Jieyin and Qiti…”
“And even Hongjun must first attain an unrealized ‘Hunyuan’—how is that possible? Eat Jing Yao’s Hunyuan Pill?”
Xiang Xuanqing smiled.
He gazed ahead at the [Dushi Xianren] Jieyin, who presided over the Dushi Assembly.
Each of these “fated ones” had already been gathered in part by Hongjun.
Xiang Xuanqing was certain Hongjun was already contemplating the “Pindixi Immortal Dao.”
He just didn’t know whether Hongjun was considering the Zhou Tian Five Immortals or the Hunyuan Nine Immortals.
“Forget it. Let Hongjun sweat over it—I’m not one of his Bai Yujing people.”
“Better to focus on my True Spirit Ye Point Array Map.” He temporarily set those thoughts aside.
Xiang Xuanqing subtly glanced at Jing Yao—perhaps, given the chance, he could draw this fellow into the Dao Zhen Jing and manifest the [Daode Tianzun] ye position.
“But that might require first obtaining the Taiji Tu.” Xiang Xuanqing mused inwardly.
His greatest gain from this visit to Bai Yujing was using the Pangu Banner to forge within the Dao Zhen Jing the supreme ye position—[Fuli Yuanshi Tianzun]!
“Then what is the opportunity to turn Yu Chendao Jun into [Lingbao Tianzun]?”
“Give him all the Lingbao I forged?”
“He’s so proper—he probably couldn’t handle it.”
“Is he messing with our minds?!”
“Alright, he succeeded!”
Fifth Tiancheng, the Yin-Yang Daoist snorted.
He suddenly realized Xiang Xuanqing was terrifyingly disruptive—even this enemy of his had been affected moments ago, unable to resist the urge to hear what “big scheme” the other had.
“This irreverent fellow is definitely doing this on purpose!”
Beside his stall stood another Immortal—the Inverted Immortal.
This Immortal wore natural robes, mist curling around his sleeves, a feathered cloak fluttering, radiating extraordinary grace.
To any observer, he appeared a true cultivator.
Yet one peculiar trait: the Inverted Immortal had recently developed a special hobby—he loved standing upside down.
And now, he hung suspended in midair, arms crossed, swaying back and forth before the Yin-Yang Daoist.
The Yin-Yang Daoist paid no mind—he was long accustomed.
His name was Inverted; his Dao naturally mirrored that.
When first encountered, this fellow spoke, acted, and wielded his divine arts in complete disorder.
He was like a schizophrenic—far more irreverent than now.
Now he merely liked standing upside down; at least the rest of him was normal.
“Yin-Yang, I heard your last shipwreck was because of him?”
The Inverted Immortal asked curiously.
“How did you all find out?” The Yin-Yang Daoist wondered inwardly—had his one shipwreck become common gossip?
Hongjun and Yang Mei knowing was normal—they were Da Luo Sovereigns.
Did you become a Da Luo too?
The Inverted Immortal said: “I just met the Barbecue Immortal—he told me.”
“That Nanhua!”
The Yin-Yang Daoist snorted.
The Inverted Immortal chuckled: “What unpleasant thing happened? Tell me—I’ll enjoy it.”
“I’ve been unusually normal lately—could use some amusement.”
“If you want amusement, why not find it yourself?” The Yin-Yang Daoist glanced sideways. “The Artificer Immortal is terribly irreverent—you’ll find plenty with him.”
The Inverted Immortal smiled: “Before I go to him, shouldn’t I first hear the situation from you?”
“You’ve interacted with him most—tell me, what’s so irreverent about him?”
“Ask Hongjun yourself.” The Yin-Yang Daoist refused to speak further.
Should I explain how the Soul-Stealing Chain snatches souls, or how the Pig-Slaughtering Knife kills pigs?
Or that he’s trying to seduce the Taiji Tu?
Do I have no dignity?!
Seeing the Yin-Yang Daoist ignore him, the Inverted Immortal kept floating back and forth before him.
The Yin-Yang Daoist remained silent.
The Inverted Immortal gave up and turned to seek his next amusement.
Soon, he spotted a figure and his eyes lit up: “Hey, look quick!”
“The Immortal of Immortality has the Three Flowers Gathering at the Crown—does she mean to ascend to Da Luo?!”
Hearing this, the Yin-Yang Daoist instantly turned his head.
Then he saw this scene:
The Immortal of Immortality had a cat perched atop her head.
[Immortal of Immortality] Yaochi sensed something and glanced back at them.
“Call me, fellow Daoists?”
Lu Wu, crouched atop her head and pretending to be a “Three-Spotted Cat,” lazily flicked his tail.
I wonder what the Lady was thinking—why abandon her role as Queen Mother of the West, why not remain the Lingxiao Divine Maiden, and instead impersonate a peach tree to pose as an immortal in Bai Yujing?
“It’s not fun at all.”
“So boring, meow~~”
The sisters in Kunlun Xu were far more pleasing to the eye.
