Chapter 76: Taiji Talisman Seal, the Shadow of Wangchuan [Bonus Chapter]

~6 min read 1,187 words

“Summoning a deity is easy; getting rid of one is hard!”

After Xiang Xuanqing and the others left, the four immortals stood in place for a long while, each lost in deep reflection.

“How’s it going? You all seem rather unhappy.”

The Inverted Immortal suddenly appeared, floating before them.

The Qiankun Immortal pinched the bridge of his nose: “The other two are fine, but as for Fengdu, I think we must carefully reconsider bringing him into Baiyu Jing.”

“This doesn’t seem like the right decision.”

The Yin-Yang Daoist agreed: “I have a premonition—if he truly joins Baiyu Jing, we may regret it.”

“Is it really that sinister?” The Inverted Immortal hung upside-down in midair, utterly baffled.

“You don’t believe in sinister things? Then why didn’t you show up just now?” The Yin-Yang Daoist glanced at him coolly.

The Inverted Immortal laughed: “I don’t hold any primordial supreme treasure—no one’s after me. Why would I even show up?”

This silenced the three treasure-holders.

Yes, they had primordial supreme treasures—so they deserved to be targeted?

“When Fengdu left just now, he sent me a message.”

Hongjun shared the message Xiang Xuanqing had given him.

“This...”

After seeing it, all the immortals frowned.

“Is such a suggestion even feasible?”

They deeply doubted it.

Can immortals really play like this?

The Underworld.

Xiang Xuanqing’s figure appeared at Zhuojue Tian Gong.

“Buy one, get three free—how embarrassing!”

Xiang Xuanqing looked at the four “gifts” in his hand, a radiant smile spreading across his face.

He’d only intended to pluck a few strands of wool from the Taiji Map, just to acquire one spirit treasure for crafting a yewei.

Now, these four gifts could each be refined into a spirit treasure.

Baiyu Jing was truly his blessed land!

“What a wonderful place—I’ll come again next time!”

After some thought, Xiang Xuanqing approached the Hunyuan Cauldron.

The Hunyuan Cauldron trembled, splitting into two.

He cast the Yin-Yang Fish Pendant, along with the primordial Yin and Yang energies he had previously obtained, into the cauldron.

“Then let’s refine a ‘Taiji Talisman Seal’!”

Xiang Xuanqing stuck a talisman onto the Hunyuan Cauldron.

He then threw the Jade Purifying Vessel given by Qiankun Daoist, along with the willow branch, into the other cauldron.

“Since I promised Qiankun Immortal, I’ll make this one proper—refine a ‘Goat’s Fat Jade Purifying Vessel’!”

He stuck another talisman on, then turned and left.

As for the jade sword Hongjun had given him, Xiang Xuanqing delivered it into the hands of Yuan Shi Tianzun in the [Great Dao True Realm].

“Should I refine it into a ‘Slayer Immortal Sword,’ or use it as the embryo for the ‘Three Treasures Ruyi’?”

“Hmm, let fate decide.”

Xiang Xuanqing stepped out of the heavenly palace.

Minghe had already left—apparently returned to his Blood Sea mansion to study the Yewei Red Lotus.

“Let me check on Wangchuan—his aura seems a bit disordered.”

“Something must have happened.”

In a flash, Xiang Xuanqing arrived at the Naihe Bridge.

“Master, you’re back!”

Upon seeing Xiang Xuanqing, Wangchuan leapt excitedly out of the [Naihe Realm].

“Wangchuan, what’s wrong?” Xiang Xuanqing, puzzled, stared at the agitated Wangchuan.

“Master, I’ve had such bad luck!”

Wangchuan grabbed Xiang Xuanqing’s sleeve and began complaining: “You have no idea what we’ve been through!”

He then recounted their experience excavating tombs in the Piaomiao Great World.

Mostly about beating up Shen Ni and digging up the Chaos Demon God’s tomb. “Fengxi Daoist predicted the location of the demon god’s tomb, so we formed a team to dig.”

“But this Piaomiao Demon God was insane! He was dead—just a skeleton left—and still caused so much trouble.”

“He didn’t reanimate or directly attack us, but he filled the tomb with countless illusionary trials.”

Wangchuan shuddered, his teeth chattering: “We were trapped in the tomb, forced to solve endless problem sets, over and over again!”

“Problem sets? What kind of problems?” Xiang Xuanqing asked, confused.

“Hard problems—every kind of hard problem! Endless, unsolvable problems.”

Recalling the ordeal, Wangchuan’s face twisted in agony: “Cosmogony theories, cosmic law outlines, divine art studies, spell treatises, fifty thousand secret realms and three thousand simulations... covering all three thousand great paths!”

“And if you got one wrong, the Piaomiao Demon God would smack your palm!”

“It was terrifying!”

Wangchuan’s eyes seemed to reflect the image of an unbearably strict figure.

“That sounds interesting?”

Xiang Xuanqing’s eyes lit up.

Listening to Wangchuan’s description, a scene instantly formed in Xiang Xuanqing’s mind.

Meng Wuyou, Fuxi, Nüwa, Wangchuan, and others drowned in the “sea of problems,” while beside them stood a stern teacher holding a whip—the Piaomiao Demon God.

Whoever answered incorrectly would be smacked by the Piaomiao Demon God.

“This Piaomiao Demon God is truly brilliant!”

Xiang Xuanqing smiled: “Are these problems all the Piaomiao Demon God’s great-path achievements? His entire great path transformed into an endless sea of problems for you to navigate?”

“The Piaomiao Demon God is impressive—sounds quite good.”

Wangchuan grimaced: “We thought the same at first.”

“So we diligently absorbed his great-path insights—but the further we went, the more we realized something was wrong!”

“Because we discovered these problems weren’t his true path at all—they were just chaotic thoughts he’d concocted out of boredom.”

“Following his logic would lead you straight into a ditch, completely losing your way on the Dao. And this guy filled in answers with absolute confidence—how could we possibly deduce exactly what he was thinking?”

“So we’ve thought many times about smashing him—but Fengxi said a demon god’s idle thoughts are still manifestations of the Dao, and thus still hold some value.”

“He told us to just endure it.”

Wangchuan said: “So we had to sift through the demon god’s garbage thoughts to extract anything useful.”

“And still get punished by the Piaomiao Demon God!”

“I don’t know about the others, but I was truly beaten to a pulp inside those illusion trials!”

“Even suicide didn’t help—I’d wake up and still have to solve more problems!”

“So that’s how it was.”

Xiang Xuanqing smiled, patted Wangchuan’s shoulder, and comforted him: “At least you learned a lot. If you properly digest these demon god’s insights, your Dao cultivation will grow significantly!”

“Honestly, this is the first time I’ve heard of a Chaos Demon God being so gentle!”

“I don’t think he’s gentle at all.”

Wangchuan, whose fate had been engulfed by the sea of problems, shook his head: “If I had a choice, I’d rather follow Minghe Brother to conduct experiments.”

Hearing this, Xiang Xuanqing burst into laughter.

“You, you’re lucky enough already.”

After comforting Wangchuan, Xiang Xuanqing went to visit Meng Wuyou in the dream realm.

Wuyou spoke of the Piaomiao Demon God without much emotion.

“We divided up the Piaomiao Demon God’s Dao among ourselves.”

“As for the corpse, we made some exchanges, and finally Fuxi and Nüwa took it away.”

“They took the demon god’s corpse?”

Xiang Xuanqing’s expression cleared: “They’re preparing the foundation for creation!”

“Then their plan is about to begin!”
