Chapter 144 - 129: Travels
"Let’s go, I’ll introduce you to the others." Since he had invited Tiger King, Lin Fang naturally wanted him to meet everyone.
Leading him into the large hall in the courtyard, the three Little Monsters and White Dragon had already been waiting there.
"Welcome, welcome!" Bashan Tiger greeted the Tiger King excitedly.
"Just wait a moment, two more people haven’t arrived yet."
As Lin Fang’s words ended, a white-clad ape holding a Treasured Sword walked in from outside, his sharp aura filling the entire room. Tiger King felt a pain in his eyes.
In his view, the person who walked in had transformed into a sharp Treasured Sword, radiating brilliant light, and even the leaking Sword Qi was enough to make his whole body tremble.
"This is a formidable character," muttered Tiger King to himself, perplexed.
"White Ape, a monster purely dedicated to the Sword Dao," Lin Fang said with a smile, pointing at White Ape.
Feeling the severity of White Ape, Tiger King dared not slack in the least and quickly said with a smile, "Nice to meet you, nice to meet you!"
"Welcome!" White Ape’s normally icy face broke into a faint smile as he spoke in an amiable tone.
"It seems your Sword Dao has advanced again," Lin Fang remarked from the side. He could feel that White Ape’s Sword Qi was growing at an exaggerated pace every day, which made him wonder, perhaps the practice of cultivation for a Sword Immortal was not that difficult.
White Dragon smiled and said, "White Ape is sincere in his sword practice and exceptionally gifted; naturally, he makes great strides every day. As long as he grasps the meaning of restraint, his strength might rise to another level."
"Easier said than done. The stronger the Sword Qi, the harder it is to contain. I have been practicing ascetically so far and still haven’t found a way," sighed White Ape.
From White Dragon, he had learned of the higher aspect of Sword Dao, but standing atop that peak was immensely difficult. His foundation was too strong, making it tremendously challenging to learn how to conceal his weapon within his body. Naturally, if he could perceive it, his power would greatly increase and become incomparable to his current state.
While they were talking, a bright moon appeared in the sky, the pure moonlight daring to rival the sun’s brilliance.
In Tiger King’s surprised eyes, the moon gently descended to the ground, the light fading and a slender woman stepping out from it. Dressed in silver armor, she looked imposing, her mere presence giving Tiger King the impression of facing thousands of troops.
The Leng Qingyue of today had transformed from her earlier destitute state, standing imposing like a Martial Goddess, her whole body radiating moonlight.
She was the Moon Goddess of this realm, utilizing the Taiyin Qi collected by Lin Fang to transform her divine duty and begin simulating the moon’s course in this space.
Of course, in the eyes of the believers in the Paper Figurine of a Buddha Kingdom and the Spirit of Flame who had moved to this space, this was the true moon.
Thus, a continuous flow of the Power of Faith transferred to Leng Qingyue, allowing this Female War God to completely break free from her shackles and enter a new level.
"Leng Qingyue, once a Female War God, now the Moon Goddess of this place."
Lin Fang introduced Tiger King to everyone present, and they all got to know this new fellow.
"What do you plan to do next, return to your mountain or stay here?"
"I won’t go back. I guess my territory has already been divided up," Tiger King said with a bitter smile, having been unconscious for who knows how long; given the nature of these Demon Kings, they must have merged it long ago.
"Enjoy your tour around here; this place is much bigger than you imagine."
After saying this, Lin Fang’s figure flashed and disappeared, while Tiger King showed a happy smile. He decided to let go of the burdens in his heart and thoroughly explore this world, and thereafter engage seriously in the practice of cultivation—perhaps, it wouldn’t be long before he had a chance to clash with the Buddhist Sect.
After agreeing to the proposal of three Little Monsters to show him around, Tiger King slowly walked out of the courtyard gate. He saw an endless plain not far away, covered with flowers and grasses and sporadically growing trees that weren’t very large, with many wild animals frolicking and romping around in it.
Looking up to the west, he saw dazzling golden light and felt a strong sense of Buddhist aura, which surprised Tiger King. He thought to himself that this was Lin Fang’s place; how could there be Buddhist influence here.
Yi Hailong, standing nearby, noticed his confusion and explained with a smile, "That’s where the Paper Figurine resides. It looks like a Buddhist power, but it’s actually a counterfeit."
Tiger King looked puzzled. Could the Buddhist Sect be impersonated, and that Buddhist aura seemed very pure. However, recalling that this was within the realm of a predecessor’s Magical Treasure, he calmed down.
Bashan Tiger mentioned with high spirits, "I’ll take you to see it sometime. That paper figurine is really interesting. It transforms into Buddha so convincingly that no one can tell them apart. Those Buddhist Soldiers who got caught think it’s the real Buddha reincarnated."
Tiger King nodded and continued to look around. To the north was a dead silence, where the scorched black land was strikingly eye-catching.
"You should not enter there lightly; there is a fearsome Beast of Calamity inside, and any creature that approaches that area gets devoured," Little Fox kindly warned.
"Hasn’t the predecessor eliminated it?" Tiger King asked curiously.
"This creature is very clever; it just guards that place. It devours any creature that enters, but it never steps out. So, Brother Lin Fang has not taken action against it. Besides, barriers have been set up around it, making it difficult for it to leave."
In fact, that place was a prison established by Lin Fang. Anyone thrown in there would continuously have their mana taken away, which would then be used as nourishment for this world’s expansion; and the Beast of Calamity was the prison guard he had prepared. Not very intelligent, it had come to completely view that area as its own territory, warmly ’welcoming’ anyone who entered.
Not far from here was a vast ocean, where the Great Inspirational King hid, also enduring daily weakening. Unlike the Beast of Calamity, which could minimize its energy loss through hibernation, he had no such means; his mana had been greatly diminished, likely not even half of his strength during his prime.
At this rate, it wouldn’t be long before the once awe-inspiring Great Inspirational King gradually devolved into a mere carp, and he could only watch helplessly as this day approached, unable to prevent it. This was the punishment Lin Fang prepared for him.
Tiger King then turned his gaze to the south, where he saw a range of towering mountains ablaze with raging flames, seeming ready to burst into the sky, while flames also fell from the sun in the sky, landing in the mountains, making the flames there even more turbulent.
He observed closely and couldn’t help but feel that this mountain resembled the famous Flame Mountain near Zhilei Mountain.
"That is Flame Mountain, inhabited by Spirits of Flame. The leader brought them in from the outside Flame Mountain," Little Fox explained.
