Chapter 209 - 194: Farewell
The undercurrents in Luzhou in the North did not disturb Lin Fang’s life.
To ensure that Bailu Academy could stand firm, he had been leading his subordinates to show their strength everywhere during this period.
With fists, they taught the surrounding Demon Clan to respect them, and thus, Bailu Academy gradually became more vibrant.
The modulated tones of reading floated through the academy.
All the monsters looked curiously at the newly established academy.
The moment they heard the sound of reading, they felt as though the mountain itself had gained a more sacred aura.
"What place is that?" a monster who was unaware of the situation asked in surprise.
"That is Bailu Academy!"
"Bailu Academy, what is it for?"
"I heard it’s for teaching people to read, but I don’t see the use," said the monster with a scoff.
"I just think it’s purely unnecessary; reading is of no use, you can neither eat it nor drink it, only weak races like humans would choose to read."
However, the monster across did not agree with his words but instead stared blankly at the tall mountain.
He was a worldly person and naturally knew the importance of reading, yet there were no places for studying in Luzhou in the North, a land of ignorance and slaughter; to many monsters, reading was a joke.
Even though the nearby monsters had sent their children to the academy, the number of those genuinely wanting their children to study was few; most were merely compelled by Lin Fang’s fearsome influence.
Lin Fang and Lu Wenchang strolled through Bailu Academy.
"Are you sure you want to leave?" Lu Wenchang asked with some reluctance.
"It’s time to leave. You know I can’t stay idle, and staying in one place too long might bring calamities," Lin Fang said with a smile.
This was not a joke,, but an intuition from the soul; he could sense a force pushing his steps. If he stayed any longer, no one knew what might happen.
And this change occurred only after his encounter with the Great Chun King, making Lin Fang curious about who was manipulating everything behind the scenes.
He did want to know their ulterior motive for urging him to continue his travels.
"It’s just, thinking of you leaving still makes me quite reluctant. This academy, honestly, wouldn’t have been established without your help," Lu Wenchang sighed.
The presence of Lin Fang and his companions had made the difficult beginning somewhat easier; he was truly grateful from the bottom of his heart.
"It’s not our merit, it’s yours, your ideals, your will that made us want to help you. I actually look forward to the different air you will bring to this land."
"Keep it up. If you can really change the monsters’ minds, you would have done an immeasurable good deed and might even become a Saint of the Demon Clan one day," Lin Fang encouraged.
Lu Wenchang chuckled lightly and said, "Saint or not, I never thought about it, but we must pave a new path for these children. The monsters of Luzhou in the North have suffered for countless years; it’s time for a change."
As he spoke these words, his eyes were extraordinarily determined, as if he could see that years later, this land would prosper again, and no child would ever be displaced again.
Lin Fang looked at Lu Wenchang at the moment and felt that he seemed to have gained something mysterious, much like what people call a "destiny."
So he burst into laughter and said, "I hope to see such a day soon."
"We will see it," Lu Wenchang firmly believed. As long as his own path of cultivation wasn’t awakened once and for all, he believed that these children would pass down such a belief from generation to generation. One day, brilliant flowers would bloom on this barren land, completely transforming it.
Lin Fang, along with his subordinates and a group of followers, left, while Lu Wenchang held his wife Liu Yiyi’s hand as they stood at the gate of Bailu Academy to see them off.
"There is no feast that doesn’t come to an end, Brother Lu, we shall take our leave now." Lin Fang said with a smile as he bowed, then left the academy with great ease.
Liu Yiyi, watching his receding figure, said somewhat sadly, "Why must there always be farewells in this world?"
These moments had been the most pleasant times of her life. In Bailu Academy, she had found the long-lost peace of her soul, taking great joy each day in seeing the children’s innocent smiling faces.
All this was thanks to the help of Lin Fang and others. Now, however, came the time to part, which made this stunning woman also feel an endless melancholy.
Lu Wenchang gently squeezed his wife’s hand, looking towards the direction Lin Fang had gone and said, "Every departure is for a better reunion; I just hope Brother Lin has a safe journey and all his wishes come true."
The departing Lin Fang seemed to have heard his words, waved from afar and then completely disappeared among the mountains and forests.
All the monsters were taken into his Magical Treasure, only Feng Jiu tightly held his hand, unwilling to let go.
Lin Fang, with no other choice, could only walk slowly with the little girl through the mountains and forests.
It was the height of summer, with lush trees all around, and countless unknown wildflowers blooming amongst the grass, scattered like stars in the sky.
Feng Jiu happily walked through the mountains and forests, occasionally picking a wildflower, her laughter ringing like silver bells.
The little girl seemed particularly fond of walking through the mountains and forests. For some reason, Lin Fang felt that Feng Jiu had grown up a lot at this moment, and he softly called her over.
After comparing her height, he found that she had indeed grown a lot taller.
He muttered to himself in surprise, "Could it be the good diet lately, the nutrition catching up, that she’s grown so quickly?"
Feng Jiu, watching Lin Fang muttering to himself, showed a brilliant smile, her eyes curving like crescent moons.
Seeing this, Lin Fang smiled and patted her head, suppressing some thoughts deep inside his heart.
The two of them continued to walk comfortably in the mountains of Luzhou in the North, enjoying the rare tranquility.
Suddenly a huge shadow appeared overhead, and a massive wave of sound swept through the area.
Looking up, they saw a fleet of Treasure Ships passing majestically overhead, with the large flags of the Heavenly Court fluttering in the wind. After many days, the Heavenly Court’s Naval Forces’ Treasure Ships had once again appeared in Luzhou in the North.
However, this time the ships were enclosed in a transparent Protective Shield, intended to prevent easy boarding.
Seeing this, Lin Fang laughed and said, "It seems the Heavenly Court’s Treasure Ships have been upgraded. Are they so confident that I can’t deal with today’s ships?"
Yet after thinking it over, he still suppressed the impulse stirring in his heart, knowing it was somewhat risky. If he were to reveal himself under the watchful eyes of the Heavenly Court, life would not be easy thereafter. Of course, if a chance like last time to fish in troubled waters arose, he would still decisively seize the opportunity.
