Chapter 365: Sea Demon
The night grows thick.
Silvery-white moonlight spills across the boundless sea, making the entire ocean appear even more profound and terrifying.
Waves lap gently against the shore, and the boat sways softly.
On a stretch of coast not far from the small town, there is a narrow, elongated gap extending inland.
The gap is secluded and hidden by vegetation.
Seawater pours in through the gap, winding and twisting, flowing toward a hidden lake inside.
In the center of the lake lies a small island, named Milong Island.
At this moment, the island is pitch black and deathly silent; the island's residents seem to have all fallen asleep.
Only a few scattered specks of light remain, dim as fireflies, hazy and indistinct, impossible to see clearly.
The lake water is as calm as a mirror, without a single ripple.
Yet, in the moonlight, its depth is as heart-stopping as the ocean outside.
Suddenly, a huge black shadow appears on the sea surface not far away!
The shadow twists its body, arrives at the narrow entrance leading to the inner lake, pauses slightly, and then, wrapped in surging seawater, crashes in with a "splash."
Its massive body occupies the entire passage, but as it moves forward, it suddenly gets stuck there.
At the same time.
The previously calm lake water suddenly ripples.
Under the water, various black shadows seem to have caught a scent and begin to stir restlessly.
"Boom!"
The huge black shadow suddenly exerts brute force, forcibly smashing through the narrow passage and the obstacles ahead, and bursts into the lake.
Seawater splashes, and the lake water churns.
The black shadows hidden in the lake are all thrown into a panic, scattering and fleeing in all directions.
"Splash! Splash! Splash!"
The once-calm lake is suddenly stirred into raging waves!
The entire surface of the lake is rolling with tides, fierce and terrifying.
"The Sea Demon is here!"
The island's residents are startled awake, all crying out in alarm.
The black shadows that had just scattered and fled at the bottom of the lake suddenly seem to receive an order; they immediately gather together, turn around, and converge into a torrent, carrying rolling waves as they charge toward the invading shadow.
"Clang—"
A bird's cry pierces the clouds and cracks stone.
A giant, strange bird suddenly appears in the night sky, also shrieking as it dives toward the intruder.
"Boom!"
The bottom of the lake surges with waves, mud churning, as another huge black shadow appears.
It extends many black tentacles, like giant black pythons, twisting as they swim upward and rapidly wrapping around the body of the invading shadow.
The fierce battle begins!
The island's residents, carrying lanterns and holding weapons, gather on the shore, watching the raging waves and the battle of black shadows in the lake, each face filled with terror, none daring to step forward.
But soon, several figures dart out from the island, stepping on the lake water to meet and engage the intruder.
The battle comes suddenly and ends just as quickly.
Seeing that it cannot gain any advantage, the giant intruder immediately opens its mouth to spew a massive amount of thick liquid, then turns and rushes toward the exit, quickly escaping into the sea and disappearing from sight.
"Captain, it seems to be that Black Fish King; I can't believe it followed us all the way here!"
"Hmph, the last time we went to sea, this beast stirred up trouble, ate several of our pets, and we killed its mate and severed one of its fins; it must be holding a grudge and came to sneak a revenge attack. Fortunately, Ahei is guarding the bottom of the lake."
"Captain, our Red Skull should be repaired soon, right? Hmph, once the ship is fixed, we'll go find this beast to settle the score!"
On a small boat on the lake, several figures stand there.
One of them is tall, draped in long red hair, with both hands hidden in wide sleeves; his face is ruddy and smooth, looking quite handsome, but his pair of azure eyes are filled with a sense of vicissitudes.
When his voice sounds, however, it is like that of a very old man.
"Go back first; I still have things to do."
The figures of the few soon disappear into the night at the heart of the lake.
Seeing that the enemy has retreated, the island's residents also disperse while whispering to each other, returning to their homes to continue sleeping.
Such situations seem to be not uncommon for them.
At the same time.
At the hillside cottage, just as Luo Zijun is peering out in the small courtyard while draped in a thin robe, a voice suddenly comes from the darkness not far away: "Nothing to worry about, go back inside and continue your wedding night."
Luo Zijun turns his head to look and says: "The wedding night is already finished."
Shui Nan walks out from the darkness, looking at him with a stern and suspicious gaze: "Kid, are you incapable?"
The corner of Luo Zijun's mouth twitches, and he says: "It has already been an hour... that, what kind of monster was fighting in the lake just now?"
Shui Nan does not answer, stares at him coldly for a moment, and commands: "Go inside, and you are not allowed to come out again. Even if the entire island sinks, it has nothing to do with you; you are only to stay in the room and keep your bride company!"
"Alright..."
Luo Zijun prepares to enter the house, but cannot help but remind: "The thing Uncle Nan promised me..."
Shui Nan says coldly: "You can see him tomorrow."
Luo Zijun's eyes light up, and without further ado, he immediately turns around and obediently goes into the house.
In the room, red candles drip tears, and the air is thick with fragrance.
The bed curtains are drawn, hazy and indistinct, and one can only see a blurred and graceful figure lying quietly inside, motionless, save for the slight rise and fall of her chest.
On the carpet under the bed, the young girl's clothes were scattered, along with some other things.
"Aw u, just now outside..."
"Come in, it's cold outside."
"I'm not cold."
"I am cold..."
"Alright."
Luo Zijun got onto the bed, and just as he lay down, he was embraced by a pair of slender, delicate arms, and then a pair of red lips breathing out warm, fragrant air pressed close to his cheek and said, "You are lying."
Luo Zijun was stunned: "Where did I lie?"
"Clearly... it hasn't been an hour yet..."
Luo Zijun changed the subject: "Aw u, you don't know, that monster that broke into the lake just now was super huge..."
The young girl looked at him with watery eyes and said softly: "Mm, super huge..."
"Was it a Sea Demon?"
"Maybe, or it could be some other monster..."
