Chapter 217

"My lord?"

After Guo Jia finished speaking, he found Liu Bei's expression was unusual and couldn't help but ask.

Liu Bei murmured,

"I was just distracted for a moment. Many commoners are displaced, but my ability is limited!"

Everyone was instantly moved by Liu Bei; my lord is truly benevolent!

Guan Yu, Xu Shu, Gao Shun, Zhao Yun, Xu Huang, Xu Rong, and others who came from humble backgrounds felt deeply about the suffering of the commoners and respected Liu Bei even more.

Ju Shou cupped his hands,

"My lord, only by occupying more places and having more troops can we save more commoners."

Liu Bei nodded,

"Gongyu is right. Fengxiao, tell everyone about our recent plans."

Guo Jia continued,

"Currently, our biggest enemy is Dong Zhuo. Hedong and Feng Yi are only separated by the Yellow River. After the spring, Dong Zhuo will definitely use troops against Hedong."

"Dong Zhuo hates my lord to the bone, the scale of this troop deployment will not be small, we must treat it with caution."

Everyone nodded one after another.

"Therefore, next, my lord has set an expansion plan, planning to recruit thirty thousand new soldiers."

"Shangdang Governor Zhang Yang led his troops to leave Shangdang and stationed in Henei. Currently, it seems he should have defected to Yuan Shao. My lord intends to send troops to occupy Shangdang."

Liu Bei added,

"Shangdang Commandery has a population of 120,000, which is considered a large commandery in Bingzhou. Its geographical location is critical; Huguan Pass is the main road between Bingzhou and Jizhou, which can be attacked or defended, so we must occupy it."

Guan Yu stood up and cupped his hands,

"Big brother, send me to occupy Shangdang."

Other generals requested orders one after another!

Liu Bei nodded,

"Good, let Yunchang be the main general, Xu Shu as the military advisor, Zhang Liao and Zhang He as assistants, take 12,000 troops, and take down the entire Shangdang territory. You must pay special attention to the movements of the Black Mountain Army."

"Understood!"

540

"The other generals, train new soldiers, drill the troops, and wait for the great battle in the spring!"

"Understood!"

Liu Bei gave the thousand strong crossbows and hundreds of sets of armor obtained from Han Fu to Gao Shun, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Ju Yi, and others.

Ju Yi was moved in his heart; my lord does not doubt those he employs, his trust in him is much stronger than Han Fu's!

After everyone went down,

Liu Bei pulled Guo Jia to chat,

"Fengxiao, you've worked hard for the past six months, helping me manage Bingzhou so well."

Guo Jia laughed,

"My lord has worked harder than me in the past six months, saving Diao Chan, taking Beauty Feng, taking Zhen Jiang, all of them are top-tier beauties."

"Cough cough."

Liu Bei started coughing.

Guo Jia quickly changed his words,

"It was fighting Lu Bu to show prestige at Hulao, chasing Dong Zhuo to save the commoners of Luoyang, saving the commoner woman Beauty Feng from Yuan Shu's poisonous hands, and gaining the support of the Zhen family of Hebei! Too hard!"

Liu Bei nodded,

"Fengxiao, you are the one I love to listen to the most."

Guo Jia...

"My lord is too kind!"

Liu Bei laughed loudly,

"You kid, this time Ju Shou is appointed as the Bingzhou Bieja Congshi, you can focus on being my military advisor in the future, plotting and planning."

Guo Jia was also very happy,

"My lord understands me too well, government affairs are too busy, my body can't take it anymore."

Liu Bei took Guo Jia's pulse,

"You kid, you are too indulgent in wine and women, have you been having sore waist and shoulder pain recently?"

"I'll give you a few prescriptions, take them on time, and your body will be great."

Guo Jia:??

"My lord, I didn't expect you to know medical arts, your subordinate truly admires you to the extreme!"

After sending away the moved Guo Jia,

Liu Bei finally had time to return to the backyard to visit his wives.
