Chapter 491

"My lord, a gentleman does not stand under a dangerous wall; let me do it."

Liu Bei waved his hand,

"My mind is made up, don't say any more."

The generals were moved in their hearts; with such a lord, what reason is there not to die for him!

Liu Bei said again,

"Gao Shun, I order you to be the commander-in-chief and take Zhu Bao of Zangke Commandery within a month. Do you have confidence?"

Gao Shun cupped his hands,

"My lord, rest assured, your subordinate will definitely complete the task."

"Good, Huang Zhong, Wei Yan, Wang Ping, you go to help Gao Shun."

"Yes!"

Liu Bei also gave Gan Ning secret instructions and sent him to persuade Li Yi.

Li Yi was also very embarrassed at this time,

He originally wanted to take over the rich Jianning Commandery; this treasure land was like a cornucopia that made people jealous,

But Liu Bei was too fast, wiping out Meng Huo in two battles and taking the entire Nanzhong area!

Letting him advance into Jianning now, he really didn't dare.

"Report, General, there is a person outside the stronghold claiming to be your old friend Gan Ning, asking to see you."

"Gan Xingba? What is he doing here?" The two had only drunk together a few times; they weren't even drinking buddies.

"Invite him in quickly!"

After Gan Ning came in, he was quite enthusiastic toward Li Yi. After the two reminisced about the past, they began to enter the main topic,

"Brother, my lord appreciates you very much and wants to appoint you as Yizhou Inspector."

Li Yi stood up in shock,

"Brother, is this true?!"

Gan Ning naturally praised him again, indicating that his lord was in a hurry to return to Guanzhong, and his own people had no prestige in Yizhou, so he wanted to choose someone local with prestige to be Yizhou Inspector...

Li Yi instantly floated; originally he only wanted a part of Nanzhong, but he didn't expect Liu Bei to make him Yizhou Inspector.

Although it was not Governor, the sky was high and the emperor was far away. When the time was ripe, he could imitate Liu Yan and block the roads to be a local emperor in Yizhou.

"My lord is personally leading five thousand troops to rush to Xuanwei and can form an alliance with you within three days."

Li Yi naturally agreed fully; he had fifteen thousand troops here and was really not afraid of what Liu Bei could do to him.

Three days later,

In the great tent, Liu Bei and Li Yi were drinking very happily. He praised Li Yi for abandoning darkness for light and being loyal and righteous, frequently toasting him, but didn't mention at all that he wanted to appoint Li Yi as Yizhou Inspector,

Instead, he said he appreciated Li Yi's bravery and wanted to take him to fight Cao Cao and Yuan Shao!

Li Yi accompanied him with a smile while hating Liu Bei to the bone,

"Damn, actually framing me. Are Yuan Shao and Cao Cao so easy to fight? You want me to go to my death."

Li Yi returned to his military camp and immediately flew into a rage,

His subordinates were also angry; the boss is Yizhou Inspector, they at least get a Commandery Administrator, and beauties and wealth are just for the taking?

"General, Liu Bei is not benevolent, and we are not righteous. Why not?"

The subordinate made a cutting gesture downward,

Li Yi was originally worried that Liu Bei was brave and good at fighting, but after being analyzed by his subordinates, raiding the camp at dawn, and his own number of people being three times that of the opponent, what was there to be afraid of.

"I also killed Zhao Wei; what's wrong with killing another Liu Bei!"

Li Yi planned to kill Liu Bei and claim credit with Liu Zhang, or he could also claim credit with Cao Cao and Sun Ce!

"When I left, they were still drinking; tonight they must be dead drunk. Liu Bei drank three times as much wine as I did; I don't believe he won't sleep to death."

It was just that he underestimated Liu Bei's drinking capacity.

At the fifth watch,

Li Yi quietly led his troops to approach Liu Bei's camp, waved his hand, and rushed in!

"Brothers, kill Liu Bei, and I will have a great reward!"

Unfortunately,

Liu Bei's camp was quiet, and Li Yi picked open a tent, but there was no one inside at all,

"Oh no, it's a trap!"

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh"

In the darkness, ten thousand arrows fired at once, and Li Yi's troops fell in a group instantly, caught off guard,

Their raid failed, and they were attacked instead; morale was low,

Under a few rounds of arrow attacks, the whole line collapsed!

Zhang Fei and Gan Ning led the cavalry to charge, directly turning into a pursuit of routed soldiers!

Li Yi was captured alive by Gan Ning and tied up with five-flower ropes to Liu Bei's central army tent,

Liu Bei roared explosively,

"Li Yi, you attacked my army for no reason; what is the reason! Was it instructed by Liu Zhang!"

Li Yi??

He suddenly realized that he had fallen into Liu Bei's trap!

He just wanted to curse loudly, but Gan Ning directly punched him so hard he almost vomited his bile!

Liu Bei took out the bamboo slips in his hand,

"Li Yi, you are arrogant and domineering, oppressing the people. The number of people who died because of you is no less than five hundred and thirty. Now you go down and write down how Liu Zhang instructed you, and you can suffer less physical torture."

Li Yi originally wanted to hold on, but couldn't stand the torture, so he could only make up the story half-truthfully.

"Behead Li Yi, and tell the people of Yizhou about his crimes and his collusion with Liu Zhang!"

"Yes!"

Soon,

The matter of Liu Zhang instructing Li Yi to sneak attack Liu Bei spread throughout Yizhou,

Li Yi's crimes were also known to everyone,

The people of Yizhou cursed Li Yi one after another,

"Such a chaotic minister and thief, the Governor actually still keeps him, and even colludes with him."

"Lord Xuande pacified Nanzhong for Yizhou and didn't ask for anything; why did the Governor do such a thing!"

"Liu Zhang inherited Liu Yan's position, and his ability is very average; last time he was beaten into a rout by Zhu Bao!"

"Yes, Lord Xuande is so powerful; he pacified Nanzhong in two battles!"

The news reached Chengdu,

Liu Zhang almost fainted,

"I only let Li Yi occupy Jianning Commandery; why did he sneak attack Liu Bei!"

"It's enough that this waste is stupid himself; now he has implicated me!"

Wang Lei cupped his hands,

"My lord, no matter why Li Yi attacked Liu Bei, we have already fallen out with Liu Bei now!"

"Report~!"

The guard came to report,

"My lord, Zhu Bao led thirty thousand troops to attack Gao Shun's ten thousand-strong army, but was defeated by Gao Shun instead, and he himself was shot to death by the old general Huang Zhong!"

"Zangke Commandery was decided in one battle by Gao Shun, and more than a dozen cities like Qielan City surrendered upon hearing the wind!"

Liu Zhang stood up suddenly, dumbfounded,

"This, this, actually wiped out Zhu Bao in one battle."

Zhang Song smiled inwardly,

For the same Zhu Bao, Liu Zhang threw away his helmet and armor, but Liu Bei sent a subordinate who could decide it in one battle. Comparing the two, the high and low are immediately judged!
