Chapter 729

~6 min read 1,105 words

Cersei was smashing things like a madwoman.

"Jaime, I want you to kill Tyrion, as well as Margaery and her lover Cass!"

Jaime wasn't Liu Bei's match even with both hands, let alone now that he only had a left hand to hold a sword...

"Calm down first; there is no conclusion yet as to who did the poisoning."

"Who else could it be? It was that little dwarf!"

First, there was Tommen's coronation ceremony.

The High Septon placed the crown on Tommen's head.

Liu Bei whispered to Margaery beside him,

"Iron-willed Queens, flowing Kings; it seems you can't be Wang Hou this time."

Margaery rolled her eyes at him.

"Crazy! How old is Tommen? Grandmother is letting him get engaged to my cousin Alysanne."

Liu Bei laughed; if it weren't for his intervention, Margaery would have been remarried to a King again!

Cersei looked at Margaery and Liu Bei whispering, her eyes ready to spit fire.

Liu Bei laughed.

"Look at our Wang Hou Mother, your sister-in-law; her eyes could bake bread."

Margaery curled her lips.

"She's sick!"

The coronation ceremony ended, and the Imp's trial would soon arrive.

Liu Bei was watching the sea in the courtyard with Margaery when they were greeted by an unexpected guest: the Spider, Varys.

"Count Cass, I came to remind you that rumors say Sansa was taken away by Baelish; he is very likely to use this to control the North."

Liu Bei laughed.

"Is that so? It seems to have nothing to do with me. I'm about to be the son-in-law of the Tyrells; how could I stand on two boats? It's time to settle down."

Margaery rolled her eyes at Liu Bei; Margaery had already pried the details of his and Sansa's messy business out of Sansa!

Varys left dejectedly; Count Cass really didn't seem to care.

Margaery reminded him,

"Baelish is no good person; he's treacherous. Be careful he steals your Sansa!"

Liu Bei pulled her into his arms.

"What? Jealous?"

"Who am I, Margaery? How could I be jealous? Hmph!"

Liu Bei laughed.

"Rest assured, Baelish won't even be able to reach the Eyrie in this lifetime."

Margaery was startled.

"Oh my, you killed him?!"

Liu Bei shushed her.

"What nonsense are you talking? He has so many enemies; who knows who did it."

Margaery was stunned.

"You must have a thousand schemes; I feel like I've been sold by you and am still counting the money for you."

Liu Bei hugged her waist.

"Rest assured, I never cheat my own women."

"Why didn't you accept Varys's overtures?"

Liu Bei shook his head.

"This old eunuch is treacherous; he might sell us out in a heartbeat. We can use him later, though."

Margaery nodded.

"I support your view."

The live broadcast chat had many more comments.

"These two together must have tens of thousands of schemes!"

"Margaery got the true teachings of the Wang Hou of Thorns; Daenerys is no match for her."

"This kind of woman is definitely a virtuous helper; it just depends on whether he can suppress her."

Varys's philosophy was very advanced; he wanted to find a good monarch for the people.

However, who is good, who is bad—who can say?

Varys had no concept of loyalty to a monarch.

In the original plot, after learning Jon's identity, he immediately wanted to support Jon and snatch the Iron Wang Zuo that Daenerys had worked so hard to occupy.

No monarch would like such a subordinate.

The Imp was another massive pit; Daenerys could have easily taken the Iron Wang Zuo, but ever since he became her chief advisor, he made one bad move after another!

When the Imp was in Meereen, he negotiated with slave owners from Yunkai and Astapor, using a policy of appeasement, which only resulted in the fleet being besieged, and in the end, they had to rely on dragons to burn the slave owners.

Daenerys could have easily occupied King's Landing by pulling in Highgarden, Dorne, and the Ironborn, but he insisted on a grand maneuver, making the Unsullied go around half the continent to attack Casterly Rock, ultimately causing the deaths of Highgarden and Dorne.

Cersei obtained the wealth of House Tyrell, paid off the debts to the Iron Bank, and even had extra money to hire the Golden Company, resisting to the end!

He then suggested Daenerys go beyond the Wall to catch a White Walker; not only did she lose a dragon, but it was thankless work, and Daenerys suffered heavy losses defending against the White Walkers.

Cersei, meanwhile, developed peacefully in King's Landing and even hanged Missandei in front of everyone.

It could be said that Daenerys's final madness should be considered forced by the series of crazy operations by the Imp and Varys!

As a result, these people turned around and wanted to pull Daenerys, this "tyrant," down.

A general's success is built on ten thousand bones; Daenerys should have sat on the Iron Wang Zuo long ago.

The Imp, however, was advising her with what seemed like great understanding: "You are not allowed to kill people." As a result, the ships were gone, Highgarden was gone, Dorne was gone, and finally, Rhaegal was gone.

One dared to teach, and the other dared to listen!

743

"Not allowed to kill people"—the result was more carnage, and all the allies were screwed over!

Appeasement is built on the foundation of iron and blood; starting with appeasement is just shooting oneself in the foot!

In Liu Bei's view, the Imp was on par with Yuan Shao's advisor Guo Tu—perfectly avoiding all the correct answers.

Liu Bei would not let Daenerys reuse this Imp.

Five days later, the trial began.

There were three judges: Tywin, Prince Oberyn, and Lord Mace.

Tywin was expressionless.

"Tyrion, you are accused of poisoning the King; do you plead guilty?"

"No, I am not guilty!"

This was naturally within everyone's expectations.

Tywin began to summon witnesses.

Witness one, Ser Meryn Trant of the Kingsguard, who had been beaten up by Liu Bei:

"Tyrion often bullied the King and even slapped the King in the face."

Witness two, the eighty-year-old Grand Maester:

"Tyrion slandered me, threw me into prison, and stole all the poisons I used for research."

Witnesses three and four, the Wang Hou herself and Varys, both testified that Tyrion had malice toward King Joffrey!

The motive, witnesses, and the poison used were all there!

Margaery whispered,

"Has Tyrion offended all of King's Landing?"

Liu Bei signaled that the most ruthless part hadn't come yet; keep calm.

Soon,

The Imp's old lover Shae delivered the final blow.
