Chapter 1055

"What did you say?"

Yuan Kui raised his head in surprise and looked at Duan Yu standing in front of him.

"Uncle, just now the imperial guards went to Dong Zhuo's residence to capture Dong Zhuo, but they didn't find Dong Zhuo. Dong Zhuo should have escaped after receiving the news in advance."

Duan Yu repeated what he had just said.

Dong Zhuo escaped?

This...

Yuan Kui frowned.

How is this possible?

The Imperial Palace was sealed in the morning, which means Liu Hong likely fell ill this morning.

Where did Dong Zhuo receive the news from?

There is a traitor.

Yuan Kui immediately associated it with the problem.

Before Duan Yu left Luoyang, in order to investigate who Duan Yu was meeting outside the West Garden, their Yuan clan's dead soldiers paid a great price, and dozens of people died before they found out about the affair between Duan Yu and He Lingsi.

This is enough to prove that Duan Yu has a force of dead soldiers in Luoyangcheng that cannot be underestimated.

If the news leaked, it is very likely that it leaked from within them.

"Within a year and a half, find all the attendants and maids who have entered the Yuan clan's residence in Luoyangcheng, and don't let any of them go."

"I mean all of them, not limited to attendants and maids," Yuan Kui said in a deep voice.

Hearing Yuan Kui's words, Duan Yu also realized what Yuan Kui was thinking.

There might be a traitor within the Yuan clan.

Duan Yu nodded and then asked: "Uncle, what should we do now?"

"Wait," Yuan Kui pondered for a moment and said: "Don't worry about Dong Zhuo for now."

"Since Dong Zhuo ran away, it is equivalent to pleading guilty."

"The crime of poisoning the Emperor is enough to plunge Dong Zhuo and Duan Yu into the abyss."

"We just need to wait now, wait for the Emperor to die."

Yuan Kui narrowed his eyes and said: "The person who controls the palace and the imperial guards is Regular Attendant Jian Shuo, who is the Emperor's confidant."

"And the Emperor has never liked his eldest son Liu Bian. If a new emperor is to be established, I think... it must be to establish the youngest son Liu Xie, and then let Jian Shuo protect the new emperor's ascension."

"Empress Dowager Dong has never liked Empress He Lingsi, and will definitely try every possible way to get rid of He Jin and even the Empress and the eldest son to rule from behind the curtain."

"As for us, we just need to watch their struggle."

"Whether it is He Jin or Empress Dowager Dong, as long as they want to win on their own side, they must win us over."

"No matter who wins or loses, we will be invincible."

At this moment, Duan Yu was truly convinced.

From the beginning of planning all this, I am afraid his uncle Yuan Kui had already thought of this step.

As long as Liu Hong dies, the matter of abolishing the inspectorate and establishing the governorship will be left unsettled, at least not as Liu Hong thought.

And taking this opportunity, Dong Zhuo is finished, Duan Yu is finished, and once the matter subsides, as long as Zhang Feng's behavior is revealed, the eunuchs will also be finished.

He Jin wants Liu Bian to ascend the throne, so he needs to win over the powerful clans.

And Empress Dowager Dong wants Liu Xie to ascend the throne, and she also needs to win over these powerful clans.

No matter how you calculate it, this is a plan to kill three birds with one stone.

Duan Yu felt that he was smart enough, but compared to his uncle Yuan Kui, he was still too far behind.

Just as Yuan Kui and Duan Yu were planning.

The entire Luoyangcheng also fell into a panic.

There is no wall that does not leak wind.

Moreover, the walls of the Imperial City are not really without any place to come out.

The events of the morning happened too urgently, so the news did not leak out.

But when time entered noon, everything that happened in the Imperial Palace was already known to the outside world.

The Emperor is seriously ill and unconscious, rumored to have been harmed by the jade pills offered by Dong Zhuo. ===== CHAPTER 1057 =====
