Chapter 1080

Almost at the same time Duan Yu arrived at Xinan County, Luoyang also received the battle report from Hangu Pass, as well as the news that Duan Yu had already brought the Liangzhou Army through Hangu Pass.

After passing Hangu Pass, it was smooth sailing.

Apart from the cities, there was nothing to block Duan Yu in Luoyang.

At this time, outside Luoyangcheng.

The City Defense Army Camp.

The City Defense Army, as the name suggests, is the army that guards the city.

Logically speaking, the city defense army should be stationed inside Luoyangcheng.

But after the Imperial Guard sealed the palace, on the second day when the ministers were summoned to the palace, He Jin brought a part of the city defense army out of Luoyangcheng.

This part of the army was only about a thousand people.

He Jin led this thousand-man army and stationed them on the north bank of the Luo River, with their backs against the Luo River.

As the Grand General, he originally had the right to mobilize the national army.

But now He Jin was living a miserable life.

The Five Schools of the Northern Army had not yet been formed.

And the troops dismissed in Luoyang could not be mobilized.

He wanted to send people to recruit soldiers, but he had no money or food in his hands.

On New Year's Day, He Jin gave all the profits from snow salt and white paper to Liu Hong.

Who would have thought that Liu Hong would fall ill.

And in just these ten days or so, more than half of the thousand city defense soldiers He Jin brought out of Luoyangcheng had fled.

Only a few hundred were left.

Every day, He Jin lived in fear.

He was afraid that one day after Liu Hong died, his position as Grand General would be taken away, and he would be arrested.

Especially in the last two days.

When Huangfu Song and Zhu Jun led troops to Luoyang, He Jin was even more panicked.

The two brought 30,000 troops to Luoyang and were stationed at Xiaopingjin Pass and Mengjin Pass.

As long as there was a summons from Luoyang, the two could lead their troops into the Luoyang area immediately. ===== CHAPTER 1082 =====
