Chapter 1447

"Also, Imperial Uncle, this Cai Yan likes music; if Liu Hong really wants to win the beauty's heart, you might as well listen to more music."

"That way, you can have more topics to talk about next time you meet, right?"

Liu Bei nodded, feeling that what Yang Zhi said made sense.

Ever since he saw Cai Yan in the palace last time, Liu Bei had been thinking about it constantly.

Some time ago, the Empress Dowager Dong's birthday.

She invited civil and military officials to a night banquet in the palace.

As a master of music at the time, Cai Yong naturally had to show off a little.

So Cai Yong called his daughter to accompany him with zither music, while Cai Yong performed with the Keting flute.

The Jiaowei zither and the Keting flute were both made by Cai Yong himself.

They were also musical instruments that Cai Yong was extremely skilled at.

That day, Cai Yong played the Keting flute, and Cai Yan accompanied him with the Jiaowei zither.

This scene at the banquet deeply attracted Liu Bei.

Since then, he had often thought about it and couldn't sleep at night.

Compared to his wife from his early years at home, Liu Bei felt that this was the woman he should have.

If Cai Yan didn't have the status of a widow, Liu Bei wouldn't dare to have designs on her.

After all, with Cai Yong's status and the foundation of the Cai clan, it was absolutely impossible for Cai Yan to be a concubine for someone else.

Cai Yong had no sons, only two daughters; with Cai Yong's status and reputation, his daughters naturally had to be the legitimate wives of others.

But after the Wei clan incident, Cai Yan's current status was very awkward.

People of equal status could not let Cai Yan enter as a legitimate wife.

And those of low status were not worthy of Cai Yan, which led to Cai Yan's marriage becoming a problem.

With this layer of relationship, Liu Bei finally had the opportunity to have these thoughts.

"Thank you today," Liu Bei said to Yang Zhi.

Yang Zhi quickly cupped his hands and returned the salute: "How dare I let Liu Hong thank me, it was just a small effort."

Yang Zhi's father was Yang Xu, the current Minister of Ceremonies.

The Taishan Yang clan was also a top-tier prominent family.

And Taishan Jun was adjacent to the Langya Kingdom.

Since the death of Yanzhou Inspector Cao Cao, after the Yellow Turban Army of Taishan Jun was taken in by Liu Bei, Liu Bei's power had suddenly surpassed that of Xuzhou Inspector Tao Qian.

Because of the support of Grand Tutor Yuan Kui, Liu Bei's reputation in Xuzhou and Yanzhou was unparalleled for a time.

The Taishan Yang clan naturally had to rely on Liu Bei's breath.

Especially after Liu Bei entered Luoyang, his power and status were even greater.

Just as Liu Bei and Yang Zhi were thanking each other, a horse suddenly galloped rapidly toward Liu Bei.

After the attendant on the horse dismounted and said two words to Liu Bei, Liu Bei's face suddenly changed drastically.
