Chapter 617

These romantic figures who would be famous for thousands of years were all about to step onto the stage.

Liu Bei, Gongsun Zan, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei would follow Lu Zhi to farm experience.

And Sun Jian would follow Zhu Jun.

As for Cao Cao, it seemed he was following his father-in-law, Dong Zhuo.

"Maintain contact with Jia Dong, give Jia Dong the greatest support, and let him get as close to Zhang Jiao as possible, preferably being able to make contact with Zhang Jiao."

"Also, send more death-sworn soldiers to protect Zhang Jiao in secret," Duan Yu ordered.

Hmm?

As soon as this order from Duan Yu came out, Liu Bai Tu and Jia Xu were both stunned.

"Protect Zhang Jiao?" Jia Xu looked at Duan Yu, not understanding why.

Duan Yu nodded frankly: "That's right, it is to protect Zhang Jiao."

"To make the Way of Peace completely chaotic, fitting Yuan Kui's calculations, one certainly needs a chaotic Way of Peace."

"Zhang Jiao is not determined to rebel; for Yuan Kui and the others, this is not good news."

"If you were Yuan Kui, what would you do?"

Duan Yu looked at Jia Xu and asked.

Jia Xu pondered slightly and then slowly opened his mouth to say: "If... if I were Yuan Kui, I would bribe those close to Zhang Jiao, then promise them great rewards, and replace Zhang Jiao."

"After using them, I would just suppress them directly."

Duan Yu smiled.

Truly worthy of being a poisonous scholar.

That's right, that's exactly it.

Historical records state that Zhang Jiao died of illness in Guangzong in the year he raised his troops.

Did Zhang Jiao really die of illness?

If one looks at it now, it is very likely not.

As for why he wanted to protect Zhang Jiao.

It was still because of the plan to divert refugees into Liangzhou.

There were a million Yellow Turbans in Jizhou, and he wanted to divert these refugees into Liangzhou.

With the level of trust these Way of Peace believers and these refugees had in the government, wanting to divert refugees into Liangzhou with empty words was simply not difficult at all.

But if Zhang Jiao were there.

Relying on Zhang Jiao's status in the Way of Peace and in the hearts of the Jizhou commoners.

It might not be difficult at all.

But these things could only be done quietly for now.

If it were known by others, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Since Jia Dong had already mixed into the Way of Peace, he was a very good candidate.

Although Jia Dong would not lead troops into battle and was not good at political affairs, Jia Dong's emotional intelligence and that clever spirit were just right for doing this.

Of course, all of this was based on the premise that Duan Yu now understood what Zhang Jiao's original intention really was.

"Wenhe is right," Duan Yu nodded and responded to Jia Xu: "Since Wenhe can think of it, with that old fox Yuan Kui's style of doing things, could he not think of it?"

Jia Xu nodded in sudden realization.

"Zhang Jiao's original intention was not bad; it's just that regarding some things, he thought too simply."

"He underestimated the methods of Yuan Kui and the others, and he trusted the people around him too much."

"Tang Zhou is like this; who knows if there will be other people like Tang Zhou around him?"

"There are still two younger brothers around him; who knows what they are thinking?"

"This thing called power..."

"Once you get stained with it, it is more terrifying than anything else," Duan Yu said: "Bai Tu, pass the message to Jia Dong; let him get as close to Zhang Jiao as possible, mobilize all the pieces the Military Intelligence Office has laid out in Jizhou in advance, and protect Zhang Jiao as much as possible."

Liu Bai Tu nodded: "Understood!"

"My Lord, what about the Zhen clan?"

Duan Yu shook his head and said: "No rush."

"To make them perish, one must first make them crazy."

"Let the other branches of the Zhen clan be happy first."

"When the time comes, just take it all back with interest." ===== CHAPTER 619 =====
