Chapter 754

And how could a great Confucian like Lu Zhi, who values his reputation, get involved with him?

Let alone curry favor with him.

If this matter were to spread, it would be enough to bring shame upon Lu Zhi.

"Then... then in your opinion, Wenyou, why would Lu Zhi invite me to a banquet?" Dong Zhuo asked, feeling confused.

Li Ru said with a grave expression: "My lord, I fear... this is a banquet with no good intentions."

"My lord has refused Lu Zhi's requests to attack Guangzong several times; Lu Zhi must mind this. Given Lu Zhi's integrity, I estimate he should have already reported this to Luoyang."

"If Lu Zhi were to report this to Luoyang, how could there be no reprimand coming from there?"

Hiss!

Dong Zhuo gasped: "No... that can't be, right?"

Can't be?

Is it impossible?

Li Ru's eyes were filled with sharp light.

"My lord, this matter is likely not aimed solely at you; I fear it is a case of 'Xiang Zhuang performing a sword dance with the intent to kill Liu Bang'."

"In this, I fear someone is secretly pointing at Ziyi."

Dong Zhuo, who had originally planned to set off for Lu Zhi's East Camp, sat at the table.

As Li Ru's speculation deepened, Dong Zhuo also realized that tonight might truly be a 'Hongmen Banquet'.

"Wenyou, tell me in detail. If this is truly a Hongmen Banquet and it is aimed at Ziyi, then what should I do?" Dong Zhuo looked at Li Ru and asked.
