Chapter 943

A few days later.

Wuwei Commandery, Zhangye County.

In the county, the troops and horses that had been dusty and were stopping in front of the East Gate that had just entered the city were patting the dust on their bodies.

Although there were less than a thousand troops, all of them had two horses each, equipped with armor, swords, long bows on their backs, and long spears in their hands.

Although there were less than a thousand people, the murderous aura emitted by these eight hundred people, as well as the blood stains on their armor and weapons, made people look at them with awe and feel cold all over.

Especially the leading cavalry general, although he looked only about twenty years old, his burly figure and sharp eyes made Wang Mi, the magistrate of Zhangye County, Wuwei Commandery, who had been in the harsh environment of wind and sand in the desert for many years, feel his scalp tingle.

Wang Mi, a native of Wuwei Commandery, whose family was a local powerful clan.

Now serving as the magistrate of Zhangye County, Wuwei Commandery.

This Zhangye County is not Zhangye Commandery.

But Zhangye County of Wuwei Commandery.

Just over half an hour ago, a cavalry unit came outside the city.

Looking at the flags and tokens, it was the Liangzhou Army, not the rebel army that had recently wreaked havoc in Wuwei Commandery and Jincheng Commandery.

So Magistrate Wang Mi ordered this cavalry unit to enter the city to rest.

Then he also rushed from the county government.

"May I ask this General, I am Magistrate Wang Mi, I don't know which troop of the Lord's command you are?"

Wang Mi looked cautiously at Zhang Liao, who was patting the dust on his body.

At this time, Zhang Liao had just experienced a fierce battle, and the murderous aura on his body had not yet faded.

He raised his eyes and swept across Magistrate Wang Mi, scaring him quite a bit, and said casually: "I am General Zhang Liao."

Hiss.

When he heard the two words Zhang Liao, Magistrate Wang Mi immediately gathered his twelve points of spirit.

"So you are the Colonel Protecting the Qiang, General Zhang Liao. I have been disrespectful, disrespectful. I have long heard that the Lord's command is full of fierce generals, and General Zhang is a capable general under the Lord."

"It is an honor to meet you today," Wang Mi said with a smile, bowing to Zhang Liao.

Duan Yu has been in Liangzhou for more than a year.

Wuwei Commandery is not very far from Hanyang Commandery, and for more than a year, officials everywhere in Liangzhou have been sparing no effort to inquire about Duan Yu's situation.

Earlier, when Duan Yu was still the Governor of Hanyang Commandery, officials in other regions were not like this.

But now it is different, Duan Yu is the Governor of Liangzhou.

That is the heaven of the entire Liangzhou.

In Liangzhou, you may not know who the emperor in Luoyang City is, and you may not know the Three Excellencies of the current dynasty, or even the Grand General.

But in Liangzhou, you cannot not know who Duan Yu is.

Otherwise, look at the 100,000 Western Qiang heads in Jianwei City and you will know the end.

After Duan Yu came to Liangzhou, especially this year, a series of reforms almost broke the system that had been in Liangzhou for many years.

Although it has not been implemented in other commanderies yet, it is only a matter of time.

Therefore, in order to avoid being blamed by Duan Yu for poor work efficiency when it is implemented in their own territory in the future, officials everywhere began to spontaneously understand the reforms in Liangzhou and Duan Yu's situation.

Including who are the direct descendants under Duan Yu, who has a close relationship with Duan Yu, who can be offended, and who cannot be offended.

And Wang Mi learned that this Zhang Liao in front of him was one of the absolute direct descendants under Duan Yu.

He was a fierce general brought by Duan Yu from Bingzhou, and also a fierce general from a powerful Bingzhou clan, and was highly valued by Duan Yu.

Zhang Liao now holds the position of Colonel Protecting the Qiang, and Zhang Liao also has an older brother who serves as the Jincheng Commandery Lieutenant.

Besides this, Zhang Liao's brother Zhang Xun also married the daughter of the Qu clan of Jincheng Commandery.

And Zhang Liao and another direct descendant under Duan Yu, the current Hanyang Commandery Lieutenant Chen Qing'an, intermarried.

Chen Qing'an married one of Zhang Liao's sisters, and Zhang Liao married Chen Qing'an's sister.

Zhang Liao swept a glance at the sycophantic Wang Mi and did not answer, but said coldly: "Prepare fodder for my warhorses and clean water for me."

"Ah."

Wang Mi, who did not react, said "ah," and then hurriedly bowed to answer.

"Understood, the subordinate will go and prepare immediately. Does General Zhang need me to prepare some food?" Wang Mi asked.

"I told you to go and prepare what I said, prepare it, why so much nonsense, hurry up, I still have military duties!" Zhang Liao frowned.

"Good, good, good, the subordinate will go, will go."

Wiping the cold sweat on his forehead, Wang Mi swallowed his saliva, and then ran towards the back.

Zhang Liao swept a glance at Wang Mi's back and said nothing.

"Use beef jerky to satisfy hunger, and no water or food in the city is allowed to be drunk or eaten."
