Chapter 1283

"Hmph!" Hearing Cao Hong's words, Guo Jia snorted a few times and said nothing more.

Cao Hong led thirty thousand cavalry and advanced rapidly toward Gu Yi's camp. He intended to finish the battle quickly, eliminate Gu Yi as soon as possible, and then retake Yanzhou to restore his own strength.

"My lord, Cao Hong is leading thirty thousand cavalry toward our camp. What should we do?" Gu Yi's personal guard asked with concern.

Gu Yi frowned upon hearing the guard's words. He knew that this battle had already begun and he had no other choice.

"Hmph! Cao Hong, since you are seeking death, you have only yourself to blame," Gu Yi said coldly, clenching his fists.

"General, what should we do?" the guard asked.

"Pass the order down: have all soldiers be fully alert. Soon, we will have a decisive battle with Cao Hong's army," Gu Yi said coldly.

"Yes, General." The guard responded and retreated.

Soon, the guard delivered the order, and inside Gu Yi's tent, everyone gathered by his side.

"My lord, Cao Hong's army is approaching us now. What should we do?" Guo Jia asked.

"Pass the order to all soldiers: have them be fully energized. Our soldiers must also be prepared," Gu Yi ordered.

Outside Gu Yi's tent, Zhao Yun had arrived with thirty thousand cavalry and was looking at the dark mass of the enemy army in the distance.

"General, this is the army of the Governor of Yanzhou. Their numbers are about three or four thousand, and they are all ordinary commoners and militia," the guard said, having approached Zhao Yun.

"Hmm, I know. Keep watching," Zhao Yun ordered.

"Yes." The guard acknowledged and returned to the camp.

"Pass the order down: all soldiers are to be fully energized. Today, we will have a decisive battle with Cao Hong's army," Zhao Yun said.

"Yes!" the guard by Zhao Yun's side responded immediately.

Zhao Yun scanned the surrounding soldiers and found that everyone was at peak alertness, clearly focusing all their attention on Cao Hong.

"Soldiers, this Cao Hong is a despicable villain. We must find a way to eliminate him, otherwise, Yanzhou will inevitably be occupied by Cao Hong," Zhao Yun said.

"The General is wise," the soldiers below praised after hearing Zhao Yun's words.

Meanwhile, inside Gu Yi's camp.

"General, Cao Hong's army is now less than five li away from us. What should we do?" the guard asked, having come before Gu Yi.

"Hmph!" Gu Yi snorted upon hearing this and said: "Our army is prepared for battle. Once Cao Hong's army arrives, we will crush them and kill them all."

"Yes!"

After saying this, Gu Yi led his soldiers forward.

Soon, Gu Yi and the others arrived before Cao Hong's army and began their preparations.

"General, are we going to have a decisive battle with the enemy?" Guo Jia asked. ===== CHAPTER 1284 =====
