Chapter 1407

Under Gu Yi's leadership, Yecheng's defensive capability was significantly improved. Cao Cao launched attacks many times but failed to make breakthrough progress, instead suffering heavy losses. As time passed, the Cao army's morale gradually declined.

However, just at this moment, an unexpected piece of news arrived: Liu Bei had suffered a heavy blow on another battlefield, and his life or death was unknown. Upon learning the news, the military and civilians of Yecheng were immediately panicked, and many people began to worry about their future fate.

Gu Yi knew deeply that he must stabilize the military and people's hearts to hold Yecheng, so he resolutely decided to go on an expedition personally to find Liu Bei's whereabouts and seek reinforcement support, while leaving some generals to continue to hold Yecheng and strengthen defensive works to deal with possible emergencies. After arranging everything, he left Yecheng with a team of elite cavalry.

Gu Yi's departure made Yecheng's defense even more difficult, but the remaining generals and soldiers firmly believed that Gu Yi would definitely bring reinforcements back to save them from fire and water, so they still stood firm at their posts, dutifully guarding the safety and dignity of this city, waiting for Gu Yi's return...

And Gu Yi also experienced thousands of hardships and heavy dangers in the process of searching for Liu Bei, but he never gave up hope and finally found the injured Liu Bei and successfully persuaded other forces to send troops to aid Yecheng.
