Chapter 286

The coalition's cavalry units appeared panicked and helpless.

Yan Liang and Cao Hong hurriedly stood out to stabilize morale and pointed out that the enemy was just infantry and not to be feared.

However.

Before their words fell.

Over a thousand Trapping Battalion warriors wielding Mo blades rushed straight toward them from the reed marshes!

Mo blades, also known as horse-slaying blades.

If it were a neat and uniform elite cavalry unit, the effect of the Mo blades would be greatly reduced.

But at this moment, the coalition's cavalry units were simply a hodgepodge of weaklings pieced together.

Facing the surprise attack of the Trapping Battalion warriors, these cavalrymen inevitably trampled on each other.

The most pit-like were the cavalry under Kong Rong and Zhang Yang.

Their combat power was already sagging.

Being scared like this by the Trapping Battalion, this part of the cavalry was so scared they wanted to flee the battlefield in a panic.

Indirectly causing the cavalry under Yuan Shao and Cao Cao to also have their formations crushed.

Yan Liang and Cao Hong were so angry they even wanted to draw their weapons and hack at the cavalry under Kong Rong and Zhang Yang!

They had seen pig teammates, but never such pit-like ones!

Originally they could have counterattacked, but because of this group of pig teammates, the casualties increased significantly in an instant.

However.

The number of Trapping Battalion soldiers was ultimately too small.

After a period of panic.

Yan Liang, Cao Hong, Ji Ling, and others gradually stabilized the army's heart and began to organize a counterattack.

However.

How could things let them have their way?

The Youzhou Legion under Gongsun Zan was already ready to go!

Accompanied by Gongsun Zan's order.

The Youzhou soldiers took the lead in launching a fierce attack on Yan Liang's troops!

What? Why not hit the others first?

Please, Gongsun Zan thought about killing Yuan Shao every moment!

Naturally, he had to prioritize attacking the soldiers under Yuan Shao's command!

Seeing this, Yan Liang was anxious with red eyes.

Don't look at Yuan Shao's big family and big business.

But every cavalryman was Yuan Shao's heart and soul, his treasure!

Raising a cavalryman cost roughly ten times that of an infantryman!

Besides this, cavalry isn't something you can raise just because you have money.

Forming a cavalry unit with sufficient combat power is by no means a matter of one day or one night.

At this moment, seeing the Yuan army's cavalry unit being slaughtered with his own eyes.

Yan Liang's heart was bleeding!

However.

Yan Liang's anger couldn't change any of the battle situation.

With the passage of time.

The coalition's cavalry unit suffered greater and greater losses.

Cao Hong, Ji Ling, Jiang Shi, and others had all coincidentally developed an intention to retreat.

As for the cavalry generals under Kong Rong and Zhang Yang, they had long since died at the hands of Gao Shun and the Trapping Battalion.

And the cavalry units of those two families, which were not many to begin with, had already been slaughtered.

"Bang!"

Finally, Ji Ling was the first to be unable to endure.

He blew the horn of retreat.

The cavalry unit under Yuan Shu hurriedly followed him to retreat from the battlefield at the fastest speed.

Immediately after.

Like a chain reaction.

Cao Hong and Jiang Shi also followed closely behind to retreat.

In an instant.

Only Yan Liang and the cavalry under Yuan Shao were still struggling to persist.

It wasn't that Yan Liang didn't want to run, but he couldn't run at all!

This TMD……

Gongsun Zan was like he had been injected with chicken blood, staring tightly at Yan Liang and his cavalry unit with the Youzhou Legion.

Besides this.

Gao Shun and the Trapping Battalion warriors wielding divine arm bows and Mo blades were also constantly looking for opportunities to finish them off.

Yan Liang and Yuan Shao's cavalry unit were surrounded tightly.

Under such circumstances, there was absolutely no way out.

Scanning the surroundings.

A fact Yan Liang had to admit was.

The cavalry unit under Yuan Shao would probably be wiped out here today!

"General, run quickly, as long as the green hills remain, don't worry about firewood!"

Beside Yan Liang, several personal guards gathered around him, urging Yan Liang to break out.

Yan Liang took a deep breath.

At this moment.

The figure of Wen Chou appeared in his eyes.

During that Battle of Hulao Pass three years ago.

To cover Yan Liang and Yuan Shao's retreat, Wen Chou exhausted all his physical strength and blocked Lu Bu for fifty rounds.

But in the end, Wen Chou still died under Lu Bu's Fangtian Huaji. (Details in Chapter 31)

At that time, Yan Liang secretly made up his mind to work hard to live in order to avenge Wen Chou.

But to this day.

Not only did he fail to help Wen Chou get revenge, but he also caused the Yuan army's cavalry unit to be nearly wiped out.

At this moment, Yan Liang wished he could rush up and fight Gongsun Zan and Gao Shun to the death!

But his remaining reason told him.

Even if he rushed up now.

It would be of no avail.

Looking at the world.

With Yan Liang's martial arts.

Except for encountering top-level fierce generals like Lu Bu, Huang Zhong, Guan Yu, and Zhao Yun.

Basically no one else could pose a threat to him.

But... no matter how powerful a fierce general is.

Once surrounded tightly by others.

No matter how high the skill, one will eventually cool down.

Therefore, if he forcibly rushed up to fight Gongsun Zan to the death, Yan Liang would definitely die.

Seeing that Yan Liang hadn't made a decision yet.

The few personal guards beside him said urgently:

"General, run quickly!"

"If you don't leave, how will you face General Wen Chou who has already passed away?"

"Plop!"
