Chapter 514

"That brat Yuan Benchu is trying to piss on my head."

"I cannot endure this humiliation!"

"Furthermore, I am not alone."

"Have you forgotten that guy, the Heishan bandit Zhang Yan?"

"With his troops acting as a diversion, I will certainly be able to break through Longcou and personally behead that scoundrel Liu He!"

The Heishan bandit Zhang Yan was Gongsun Zan's long-time partner.

Why would one say that?

Because although Zhang Yan did not occupy any large cities.

His forces were famously known as the "Million Heishan."

Among them, there were over one hundred thousand soldiers fit for battle.

As a special warlord who had entrenched himself in the Taihang Mountains for years.

Zhang Yan's faction, the strongest mountain bandit force in the world, had always been at odds with Yuan Shao.

As the saying goes.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Zhang Yan and Gongsun Zan had no personal friendship.

But because both were opposed to Yuan Shao, they came together.

In original history, the reason it took Yuan Shao nearly ten years to eliminate Gongsun Zan was that Zhang Yan had helped Gongsun Zan quite a bit.

Whenever Yuan Shao sent troops to attack Gongsun Zan.

Zhang Yan would always lead his troops out of the Taihang Mountains to raid Yuan Shao's rear base.

Because of this, Yuan Shao had to retreat time and time again.

And now.

Gongsun Zan intended to attack Longcou and kill Liu He, whom Yuan Shao had installed!

If he could invite Zhang Yan to join the campaign, the success rate would undoubtedly skyrocket.

However.

What Gongsun Zan did not know was.

In this world, there are no permanent friends, only eternal interests.
