Chapter 101

Yangzhou, outside Tuzhong County

"Delicious, it is truly too delicious!"

"Sob, sob, this white porridge is simply too delicious!"

"A bowl of white porridge and a bun, the County Magistrate is not as good as me!"

"I never thought I would meet such a great benefactor, we are saved!"

"......."

At this moment, around the porridge shed, figures of disaster victims sat directly on the ground, eating white porridge and white flour buns!

Their hometowns had suffered a disaster, the river flooded the fields, and also flooded their houses!

Helpless, they could only flee outside!

But they did not expect!

To be able to meet a benefactor who gave them food and drink!

"Father, this white flour bun is really delicious!"

In a corner, a child who looked no more than seven or eight years old was eating a white flour bun in large bites, drooling with greed!

A simple white flour bun made the child taste the flavor of meat!

"Er Gou, you must remember, it was this lord who gave us food, you must never forget!"

The middle-aged man sitting beside him, although equally thin, saw a glimmer of light return to his previously desperate eyes!

He was not a learned scholar, just the most ordinary farmer!

But he knew!

If it weren't for Lin Yang's bowl of white porridge and white flour bun, he and his child would likely have starved to death!

"Yes, father, I will remember!"

The child nodded, and his gaze also looked toward the handsome young man in front of the porridge shed!

This was Administrator Lin who gave them a glimmer of life!

Such a scene was constantly happening among the disaster victims at this moment!

The commoners of the Great Han were actually much kinder than people of many other eras!

The reason Zhang Jiao was able to get a response from everyone during the Yellow Turban Rebellion!

Was that many people had received the kindness of a meal from Zhang Jiao!

Zhang Jiao might not have known any spell techniques, nor could he save people with talisman water!

But his bowl of hot porridge allowed those suffering from disaster to get a bit of warmth and food!

"Sigh, it's a pity, we can only eat this kind of white porridge once!"

"Yes, we won't be able to eat it in the future!"

"Administrator Lin being able to give us a bowl of porridge and a white flour bun is already a kindness as heavy as a mountain!"

"That's right, this bowl of white porridge saved my mother's life!"

"Let's go, we should also set off!"

"......"

After finishing the white porridge and white flour buns, the people in the field were also preparing to continue forward!

This Yangzhou was ultimately a land of fish and rice!

As long as they continued forward, they would eventually be able to escape this disaster-stricken area and reach a place that had not been affected!

Once there, they would have a chance to survive!

"Fellow villagers, don't leave yet, good news, Administrator Lin says he wants to recruit us to go to Guangling Commandery!"

Accompanied by someone's exclamation, the next moment, in the large group of disaster victims, countless people's expressions changed!

He wants to recruit them to go to Guangling Commandery?!

"Administrator Lin said that if anyone is willing to go to Guangling Commandery, each person can get a bowl of white porridge and a white flour bun every day!"

"Once there, the government will distribute farming tools, open up wasteland, and all taxes will be exempted for the first three years!"

As another shout rang out, the entire group of disaster victims was stunned!

A bowl of white porridge and a white flour bun for each person every day!

Oh my!

What kind of kindness is this!

And!

Once there, opening up wasteland, and actually three years of tax exemption!

This simply made them feel like they were dreaming!

The disaster victims were all stunned, but the next moment, in the crowd, another exclamation rang out!

"Administrator Lin also said that if you are willing to join the army, you will have all the white porridge and white flour buns you can eat, and meat every day!"

The words fell like thunder, and in an instant, the eyes of these disaster-stricken commoners all shone with light!

"Oh my, I must be dreaming!"

"If I join the army, I get to eat meat?"

"All the white porridge and white flour buns I can eat, I want to join the army!"

"Me, I also want to join the army, I want to eat white porridge and white flour buns every meal!"

"Sob, sob, I've decided, I want to swear to follow Administrator Lin!"

"That's right, we all want to go to Guangling Commandery and beg Administrator Lin to take us in!"

"......."

Orders exploded in the group of disaster victims!

Countless people heard the various treatments Lin Yang offered, and everyone felt like they were dreaming!

As long as you are willing to go to Guangling Commandery, one bowl of white porridge and a white flour bun per person every day!

Although this won't make you full!

But this means they won't starve to death!
