Chapter 295

Xianxialing, on the hillside

"It's a pity that Sun Wentai ran away!"

Watching the dozens of riders leave in the distance, Lin Yang knew that Sun Jian must have escaped!

It's a pity he didn't have enough generals!

Otherwise!

If there had been a fierce general like Taishi Ci in the rear, with the five thousand kitchen-knife soldiers, Sun Jian would never have escaped!

"My lord, how did you do it?"

A full ten thousand-plus troops were actually defeated by five thousand people; this almost exceeded Guo Jia's cognition!

No matter how you look at it, it's a bit weird!

You know!

These five thousand soldiers, although they were all elites clad in fish-scale armor!

But they were not cavalry!

Sun Jian's troops were not bandits like the Yellow Turbans; with a force advantage of more than two to one, how could they be defeated so quickly!

"Haha, Fengxiao, you will understand in a while!"

Selling a mystery to Guo Jia, Guo Jia would understand once he saw those kitchen knives!

Lin Yang didn't speak, and Guo Jia could only wait!

With Sun Jian's escape, the battle on the field soon entered the final stage!

The ten thousand troops of Sun Jian's vanguard were not only attacked by rolling logs and giant rocks, but were also killed through by Taishi Ci!

Many people chose to surrender on the spot!

And in the center army, although Han Dang personally stayed to cut off the rear, he faced the most elite iron-clad spiral-pattern infantry under Lin Yang, as well as the fierce general Seeing Dian Wei!

With one round of charging from a high position, Han Dang's center army instantly collapsed!

Han Dang himself suffered a heavy blow from Seeing Dian Wei during their fight and was struggling to maintain his position!

The surrounding troops had no power to fight back in front of the spiral-pattern troops!

In close-quarters combat, the heavy infantry fully exerted their advantages!

After a long moment

"Report, enemy commander Han Dang has been captured alive!"

"Report, the enemy vanguard has been defeated, and the fleeing soldiers have all been captured!"

Following the soldiers' report, the battle on the chaotic battlefield below had ended!

Of the thirty thousand troops under Sun Jian, except for those who fled and died, most of the rest were captured by Lin Yang!

"Let's go, Fengxiao, let's go down and take a look!"

With the battle over, Lin Yang took Guo Jia and walked down!

Not long after, Lin Yang and Guo Jia arrived at the foot of the hill!

The surrounding soldiers were already cleaning up the battlefield, and Seeing Dian Wei, Taishi Ci, Xu Sheng, Ling Cao, and others were all here!

"My lord, the general has failed the lord's trust and let Sun Jian run away!"

Xu Sheng and Ling Cao stepped forward and knelt on the ground to plead guilty!

Having personally experienced the terror of the kitchen knives!

Their hearts were very uneasy and self-reproachful!

Lin Yang gave them such divine weapons, but they let Sun Jian run away!

They really failed Lin Yang's expectations!

"Hmm, considering your merit in defeating the great army, your merits and demerits cancel each other out. I hope you can know shame and be brave, and wash away today's humiliation!"

Looking at Xu Sheng, Ling Cao, and others, these two generals were both young and vigorous!

Lin Yang had high hopes for them!

"Thank you, my lord!"

Hearing Lin Yang say that their merits and demerits canceled each other out, Xu Sheng and Ling Cao breathed a sigh of relief while secretly holding their breath!

Lin Yang did not punish them!

And continued to entrust this kitchen-knife army to them!

No matter what, they had to capture Sun Jian with their own hands!

To wash away today's humiliation!

"Ziyi, you lured the enemy deep and defeated Sun Jian's vanguard, which was very laborious!" After showing concern for Taishi Ci, Lin Yang said, "This merit will be calculated together after Yangzhou is pacified!"

Lin Yang had not yet taken Yangzhou, so it was not appropriate to reward the generals!

And!

This kind of cumulative military merit needed to be drafted by Guo Jia and others, then submitted to Gu Yong, and after various cumulative military merits, the corresponding rewards would be determined before being sent to Lin Yang!

The complexity of this was not something Lin Yang could decide with a flick of his tongue!

Of course!

Lin Yang was the lord and could give rewards at will!

But if he did that, the regulations for military rewards would be chaotic!

Military rewards must be clear and fair so that soldiers would have motivation!

"My lord, I have captured Han Dang, the great general under Sun Jian!"

Just as Taishi Ci's merit was mentioned, Seeing Dian Wei couldn't wait to drag Han Dang over!

The bound Han Dang was held in Seeing Dian Wei's hand like a chicken!

"Alright, Elai, I have noted your merit, I won't shortchange you!"

Helplessly glancing at this simple and honest man, Seeing Dian Wei was his personal guard, so Lin Yang naturally wouldn't treat him badly!

Hearing that Lin Yang wouldn't shortchange his military merit, Seeing Dian Wei dropped Han Dang and stood satisfied by Lin Yang's side!

Only at this moment did Lin Yang have the time to look at Han Dang in front of him!

Must say!

The four old generals under Sun Jian were all talented generals!

All were capable of commanding an army alone!

Especially old guys like Cheng Pu and Huang Gai!

Their strength was not weak!

"Someone, take him down first, don't treat General Yigong badly!"
