Chapter 314

These nearly seventy thousand troops were far from enough to guard the four commanderies of Jiangdong!

And!

When Lin Yang returned to Xuzhou, some troops had to be taken away!

For example, Dian Wei's four thousand Threaded Armor soldiers, and Xu Sheng and Ling Cao's five thousand Kitchen Knife soldiers!

Leaving these elites in Jiangdong would be too much of a waste of talent!

"Ziyi, I asked you to recruit new soldiers from the four commanderies of Jiangdong; how is the situation?"

Looking up at Taishi Ci, under the current circumstances, new soldiers had to be recruited in the four commanderies of Yangzhou!

"My lord, we have now recruited thirty thousand new soldiers in the four commanderies of Yangzhou, and many people, grateful for the lord's kindness, insist on joining the army!"

Taishi Ci spoke excitedly; during this period, Lin Yang had widely distributed white porridge, steamed buns, and so on in the four commanderies of Yangzhou!

Not only did he gain reputation, but he also gained the gratitude of the people of the four commanderies of Yangzhou!

Many refugees who had fled here, hearing that they could eat meat at every meal if they joined the army, all scrambled to join!

Considering the number was too large, Taishi Ci didn't dare to recruit anymore!

Lin Yang, sitting above, pondered for a moment, and then nodded!

"Hmm, thirty thousand is not enough. Ziyi, recruit fifty thousand new soldiers in the four commanderies of Yangzhou!" Speaking to Taishi Ci, Lin Yang continued to supplement, "In addition, this time I will take away fifteen thousand soldiers, and the rest will all be under your jurisdiction!"

The thirty thousand troops he brought still had many wounded; Lin Yang would take them back to Xuzhou!

The troops left for Taishi Ci would only be his original ten thousand!

The remaining troops would all need to be recruited by Taishi Ci from the four commanderies of Jiangdong!

With a population of several million in the four commanderies of Jiangdong, raising a mere hundred thousand troops was no problem!

"In addition, Ziyi needs to select forty thousand from the Jiangdong troops to form a navy, and train the navy in the Pengze area!"

A hundred thousand troops, with forty thousand forming a navy—in Lin Yang's view, this ratio was not too high!

And, he had to leave a portion of troops for others to suppress the Baiyue!

"Understood!"

Bowing, Taishi Ci also understood that his current task was heavy!

Lin Yang had told him before!

These forty thousand naval troops would not only attack Lujiang Commandery in the future!

But also prepare for the attack on Jingzhou!

"Hmm!"

Nodding, Lin Yang's gaze turned to the rest of the people!

Zhou Yu, Zhou Tai, Jiang Qin, and Han Dang—Lin Yang would take them away, so there wouldn't be enough generals left!

"Daming, I know you care about the people; Kuaiji Commandery has been harassed by the Baiyue for years, so I must trouble you to sit in command yourself!"

Looking at Zhou Xin below, the other party had originally wanted to return home to live in seclusion, but was held back by Lin Yang!

To deal with such a person who worries about the people!

Just use the people to tie him down!

Zhou Xin below pondered for a moment, but still bowed and saluted!

"Good, then from today on, Daming is the Administrator of Kuaiji Commandery, in overall charge of Kuaiji Commandery affairs. In addition, I will not let you, Daming, be isolated and helpless!"

To suppress the Baiyue, or to pacify the Baiyue, relying on Zhou Xin alone was impossible!

"Li Hu!"

"Present!"

As he spoke, an armored iron general walked in and knelt respectfully below!

"For your merit in recruiting surrendered soldiers this time, I appoint you as the Colonel of Suppressing the Yue, leading fifteen thousand troops, to be under the command of Administrator Zhou!"

Looking at this general he had promoted himself, Lin Yang had expectations for him!

Hearing that he had been promoted to Colonel of Suppressing the Yue and was leading fifteen thousand troops, Li Hu was so excited that he quickly bowed and said!

"I am willing to die for the lord!"

From a small squad leader to the current Colonel, he felt as if he were dreaming!

"Hmm, for other strategies against the Yue, just listen to Administrator Zhou!"

"My opinion is: suppression and education coexist; educate to transform, suppress to intimidate!"

Guo Jia, Zhou Yu, Gu Yong, Zhou Xin, and others in the hall, listening to Lin Yang's strategy for the Baiyue, all arched their eyebrows!

This Lin Ziyuan actually knew about the Baiyue?

Zhou Yu was a bit surprised!

How could he know that such strategies were all summarized by people of later generations!

"Zigang, from today on, you are the Assistant Governor of Yangzhou, stationed in Wanling City of Danyang, in overall charge of the affairs of the four commanderies of Yangzhou!"

Looking at Zhang Hong below, he had to make good use of such civil talent!

"Ling Cao, Zhao Ye, you two lead the remaining troops and return to Zigang's command, listening to his orders!"

In the four commanderies of Jiangdong, Lin Yang had to leave heavy troops to guard them this time!

Taishi Ci was stationed in Chaisangcheng of Yuzhang Commandery, commanding ten thousand of his own troops, and training forty thousand naval troops in Pengze Lake!

Zhou Xin was stationed in Kuaiji Commandery, with fifteen thousand troops under Li Hu's command, suppressing the Baiyue and gathering the people of the Baiyue!

Danyang Commandery was stationed by Zhang Hong, commanding the four commanderies, with Ling Cao and Zhao Ye commanding thirty-five thousand troops!

Zhang Hong's task was to promote rice planting in the four commanderies!

The troops of Ling Cao and Zhao Ye, besides watching over Danyang Commandery, also had to split off fifteen thousand troops to garrison Wu Commandery!

As for how the two allocated them, it was left to Zhang Hong to decide!

Zhou Yu, to the side, watching Lin Yang's arrangements, sighed even more in his heart!

Can't beat him!

Completely unable to beat him!

With Taishi Ci's fifty thousand-strong army in Chaisangcheng, Sun Jian's path south had already been blocked!

Once Yangzhou was stable, with Yangzhou's hundred thousand troops, Sun Jian would have no more chances!

"You all must fulfill your duties and let the people rest and recuperate; the land of Yangzhou is entrusted to you all!"

Slowly standing up, Lin Yang bowed respectfully to everyone!

Seeing Lin Yang's heavy trust, Taishi Ci, Zhang Hong, and others stood up and bowed!

"We swear to die rather than fail the lord's trust!"

Resonating in unison, the monarch and subjects were of one heart, which made Zhou Yu, Han Dang, and the others envious!

Mid-October, third year of Chuping, Wuxian.

"Zigang, the grain I left for you in Wuxian can be used at will; in the future, I will have it transported continuously from Xuzhou!"

"With the lord doing this, Zigang will certainly not fail the lord's trust!"

At the city gate, Zhang Hong, at his age, was moved to tears!

Meeting a wise lord like Lin Yang was truly his fortune in this life!

After giving instructions to everyone, Lin Yang's great army, taking Guo Jia, Zhou Yu, Gu Yong, and others, set off on the road back to Xuzhou!

Yangzhou was a place of peace and comfort!

It was not suitable as the seat of government for Lin Yang's forces!

Comfort would extinguish ambition!

Therefore!

Lin Yang still set his seat of government in Xuzhou, a place of four battles!

The great army traveled all the way, along Wuxian, straight to Qu'e, and then stopped at Qu'e County!

"My lord, why is the great army stopping here?"

With the great army stopping in Qu'e, Guo Jia and Gu Yong were a bit confused!

What was Lin Yang doing?

"Haha, no rush, I am just waiting for someone here!"

Seeing that the people beside him didn't understand, Lin Yang stood on the city wall and said with a light laugh!

Since he had come to Jiangdong, there were some people he must pack up and take away!

"Oh? I wonder who it is? Worthy of the lord doing this?"

Zhou Yu, to the side, couldn't help but become curious!
