Chapter 342

Previously, Guanzhong had experienced the earth dragon turning over, and a large number of disaster victims had flowed toward Yanzhou, Yuzhou, and Jingzhou!

Jingzhou was fine; the impact of this drought and locust plague was relatively small!

But Yanzhou and Yuzhou were really in trouble!

The drought and locust plague in these two places were particularly severe!

Plus, with a large number of disaster victims flowing in, the final harvest would likely be less than thirty percent!

"My lord, the only plan now is to borrow grain from the noble clans and wealthy merchants!"

Chen Qun, who was to the side, also spoke up at this moment!

The method he thought of was to borrow grain from the noble clans!

The Great Han was plagued by disasters, and the only ones who had grain were the major noble clans!

The noble clans had plenty of stored grain; if Cao Mengde went to borrow grain from them, he could definitely survive this year!

It's just that!

The noble clans were not doing charity!

When Cao Mengde returned it, it wouldn't be the same amount he borrowed!

"Let me think about this matter again!"

Borrowing grain from the noble clans, wasn't this asking him to bow his head to the noble clans!

Cao Mengde knew very well how difficult the noble clans in Yanzhou were!

He needed to think about this matter carefully!

Jingzhou, Nanyang City

"My lord, now that the locust plague has passed through, the grain and grass in Yuzhou will likely be affected!"

Yuan Gonglu, who was sitting in Nanyang, looked at the report from his subordinate Yang Hong, his face looking extremely ugly!

With part of the land in Nanyang, Jingzhou, plus the land in Yuzhou, he should be the person in the whole world who didn't have to worry about grain and grass!

But now, he had become the person most severely affected by the disaster!

With the locust plague passing through, almost eighty percent of the rice fields in Yuzhou would be a total failure!

What did this mean!

Yuan Gonglu knew it all too well!

Not only would there be no harvest in the autumn!

But it was even possible that countless people would starve to death!

"My lord, we need to purchase grain from Jingzhou immediately!"

The Central Plains were suffering from the disaster, but Jingzhou was not affected!

The Jingzhou under Liu Biao was a land of fish and rice, with abundant grain and grass!

They could completely find the other party to purchase some!

Although the price of grain would be inflated at this time, it was a helpless move!

"Damn it!"

Cursing, Yuan Gonglu was also helpless against this kind of natural disaster!

Jizhou, Xindu

"My lord, there is a locust plague in the Central Plains; we need to be careful and take precautions!"

The news of the earthquake and locust plague spread quickly!

Especially this large-scale locust plague, Yuan Benchu, who was sitting in one region, also had to be vigilant!

Even the army attacking Gongsun Zan had temporarily stopped!

"Yuanhao, what is the current situation?"

Looking at Tian Feng below, Yuan Benchu asked!

"My lord, the locust plague is currently mainly ravaging Yanzhou, Yuzhou, and western Xuzhou; it will not come to Jizhou for the time being!"

The weather in the north was cold, and locusts generally wouldn't come!

The main areas being ravaged were Yanzhou, Yuzhou, Xuzhou, and other places!

Even Jingzhou and Yangzhou had been affected to a certain extent!

"Hmm, that's good!"

Hearing that there was no danger on his side, Yuan Benchu breathed a sigh of relief and then looked at Yanzhou and Yuzhou with slight regret!

"It's a pity that Gongsun Bogui is holding his city firmly; otherwise, I could send troops south right now!"

The locust plague in Yuzhou and Yanzhou was an opportunity for Yuan Benchu!

He could have sent troops to attack the two provinces!

It's a pity!

He hadn't dealt with Gongsun Bogui's administrative center yet!

As Gongsun Bogui's old nest, it was managed to be as solid as a rock!

The Iron Pagodas also had no place to be used!

Yuan Benchu could only keep consuming and waiting for the opportunity!

And at the same time, Xuzhou, Donghai Commandery, Xuzhou City

"My lord, an urgent report from Xiapi Commandery: locusts have entered the border, and the western parts of Xiapi Commandery, Xia Qiu and Huailing, have been affected!"

"In addition, the four counties of Guangcheng, Liuxian, Wuxian, and Weixian in the western part of Peng Cheng Commandery have all been affected!"

In the Provincial Governor's Mansion, listening to this reported information, Gu Yong, Mi Zhu, Cheng Yu, Guo Jia, and others in the field all frowned!

Earthquake, drought, locust plague!

Was the locust plague in Yuzhou and Yanzhou already this severe?

Even Xuzhou had been affected!

Fortunately, it only affected a few counties in the west!

Otherwise, Xuzhou's autumn harvest this time would have had problems!

"Order Zilong and Zijing to do a good job in settling the affected commoners, temporarily move the commoners eastward, and set up porridge sheds for relief!"

In ancient times, once there was such a locust plague, the commoners could basically only wait for death!

After all, they were the commoners under Lin Yang, and he would not ignore them!

Gu Yong, who was to the side, nodded and then began to draft the document and issue the order!

And the eyes of Guo Jia, Cheng Yu, and Zhou Yu were fixed on Lin Yang, as if they wanted to see through him!

The three of them instantly thought of Lin Yang's previous arrangement!

Purchasing grain in Yuzhou and Yanzhou!

Hiss!

Did the lord know early on that there would be a drought and locust plague in the Central Plains?

The natural disaster that was previously vetoed had now actually appeared!

It's just that!

Was this kind of knowing astronomy and geography really something a person could do?

"Zhongde, is the arrangement I made in Qingzhou properly handled?"

"My lord, it was all planted in March according to your requirements!"

Hearing that it had been planted, Lin Yang breathed a sigh of relief!

Since Lin Yang knew about this locust plague in advance, he naturally wouldn't do nothing!

Taking advantage of the time when Cao Mengde, Yuan Gonglu, and Yuan Benchu were all busy, he wanted to directly take the entire Qingzhou!

The sudden recruitment of one hundred thousand new soldiers before was to prepare for this moment!

"My lord, I feel that what we need to think about now is not the problem of Qingzhou, but the problem of Xuzhou!"

Guo Jia, who was sitting below, sighed deeply; he was already accustomed to these miraculous things of Lin Yang!

Now, the locust plague in the Central Plains had broken out!

What they needed to consider now was the problem of Xuzhou and Yangzhou!

"Hmm? The problem of Xuzhou?"

Looking at Guo Jia suspiciously, he saw that the latter's expression was extremely solemn!

This expression made Lin Yang take it a bit more seriously!

"Fengxiao, just say it!"
