Chapter 355

Fourth year of Chuping, early September.

Xuzhou, Xiapi Commandery, Xia Qiu City.

"Zilong, what do you think of this Lu Bu army?"

Lin Yang, who had arrived slowly, stood atop Xia Qiu City, looking at Lu Bu's army outside the city, and asked Zhao Yun beside him!

"My lord, Lu Bu's army and Ji Ling's army have attacked the city several times, but they have all returned without success!"

"Furthermore, the Wengcheng 【barbican】 that you ordered me to build has been completed!"

Lin Yang's arrival also allowed Zhao Yun, who was garrisoning this place, to heave a sigh of relief!

It was impossible for Zhao Yun not to feel pressure when commanding so many troops for the first time!

"Hmm, Zilong has already done very well!"

Looking at the great army outside the city, Lin Yang's gaze turned to the current Xia Qiu city wall!

Before the enemy army arrived, Lin Yang had already ordered Zhao Yun to build small, protruding Wengcheng outside Xia Qiu City!

Unlike the original Wengcheng, these protruding Wengcheng were more like individual protruding positions, blocked by only a single layer of city wall!

"My lord, now that Yuan Gonglu's one hundred thousand troops are stationed in the rear, do we need to prepare our army to wait for the enemy to attack the city?"

Standing beside Zhao Yun, Lu Su asked this question at this moment!

Lin Yang's army had already arrived!

It would not be long before Yuan Gonglu's one hundred thousand troops would inevitably approach!

At that time, it would be the moment for the two armies to truly engage in battle!

"Hmm, let the army rest for a few days first. Also, Fengxiao, you can set up the catapults!"

Saying this to Guo Jia beside him, as a transmigrator, Lin Yang had his own understanding!

Although there were no cannons now!

He did, however, have improved catapults!

Those protruding Wengcheng positions were exactly what Lin Yang had prepared for the catapults!

"Yes, my lord!"

Guo Jia went to carry out the order, and for a moment, Lu Su felt a tense atmosphere!

"Zilong, you lead the fifteen hundred Iron Pagodas in the city to prepare for battle. Once the army is ready, be prepared to leave the city to meet the enemy at any time!"

"Understood!"

After cupping his hands in a salute, Zhao Yun's figure quickly departed to prepare the Iron Pagodas in the city!

As a cavalry commander, he had been waiting for this moment for a long time!

"Xu Sheng, this time the four thousand Armored Threaded-Steel Army and the five thousand Kitchen Knife Army are all under your command. I hope you will not disappoint me!"

Lin Yang still held high hopes for this young general before him!

After all, he was a great treasure of later generations!

Lin Yang could give him more opportunities!

"This general swears to die rather than fail my lord's trust!"

Moved in his heart, Xu Sheng knelt on the ground excitedly, his tone firm!

Such trust gave Xu Sheng the impulse to go through fire and water without hesitation!

Upon receiving the order, Xu Sheng's figure also quickly departed to prepare for battle!

"Xuangao, you lead your subordinate Sun Guan and thirty thousand troops to camp at the northwest corner of Xia Qiu City!"

Taking a look at the situation outside the city, Lin Yang prepared to let Zang Ba lead thirty thousand troops to camp outside the city!

He did not intend to defend Xia Qiu City to the death!

"My lord, are you planning to take the initiative to attack?"

Lu Su, who was beside him, reacted at this moment and sensed that something was wrong!

Lin Yang was clearly planning to take the initiative to attack!

Otherwise, he would not have let Zang Ba station troops outside the city to form a mutually supporting position!

"That's right, I have never thought about defending just one side!"

Lin Yang led thirty thousand troops, plus the eighty thousand troops already in the Xiapi region, the number of troops in his hands already exceeded one hundred thousand!

With one hundred and ten thousand troops here, Lin Yang also had three major weapons in hand: the heavy-armored Iron Pagodas, the Threaded-Steel Army, and the Kitchen Knife Army!

Defending the city to the death was not his style!

The strategy set by Guo Jia was to strengthen the walls and clear the fields, and to defeat them one by one!

The first one to be defeated was the Yuan Gonglu army before them!

"Zijing, this time you will sit in command of the city, and everything will be arranged and dispatched by you!"

Now that there was a shortage of manpower, all the dispatching in the city could only be left to Lu Su!

"Yes, my lord!"

After saying this, Lu Su's figure quickly turned and left!
