Chapter 368

Yuan Gonglu shouted, and couldn't care about the rebellion of the front army, rode his horse, and returned to his middle army!

For a moment, as the armies on both sides moved forward, they charged towards Lin Yang's army that rushed out!

"Kill... kill... kill..."

The two armies clashed, and the sound of fighting echoed in the world!

On the city wall of Xia Qiu City, Lin Yang looked at this scene and was also nervously observing the situation!

Lu Su on the side, looking at the rebelling Yuan army, couldn't help but heave a sigh of relief!

He knew!

With this casualty ratio, the army under Yuan Gonglu had long been on the verge of collapse!

If it weren't for the locust plague in Yuzhou, and no food, running away would also be a dead end!

The soldiers under Yuan Gonglu would have rebelled long ago!

In ancient warfare, if the casualty ratio exceeds 30%, they will rebel and collapse!

The casualties under Yuan Gonglu had already exceeded 40%!

Plus this time attacking the city, the two thousand front army lost, a 50% casualty ratio, the Yuan army finally couldn't hold on!

"My lord, now the Yuan army's morale is greatly reduced, we can completely plan slowly!"

Lu Su couldn't understand Lin Yang's initiative to attack!

According to reason!

Defending the city, even without the catapults of the Wengcheng, relying on the city wall, they could kill Yuan Gonglu's army on a large scale!

The casualty ratio of attacking the city and defending the city is generally five times or more!

Five attacking soldiers must die to kill one defending soldier!

If you encounter a strong city like Hulao Pass!

This ratio can even exceed ten to one!

"Zijing, what the lord wants is not for Yuan Gonglu to retreat!"

Guo Jia on the side undoubtedly saw further!

If he really wanted Yuan Gonglu to retreat!

They could rely on the Wengcheng and city walls to continuously consume Yuan Gonglu's army!

Relying on one hundred thousand troops to defend the city, Lin Yang didn't need to send sixty thousand soldiers to fight fiercely around the Wengcheng at all!

Letting Yuan Gonglu's two hundred thousand troops surround the city, they couldn't take Xia Qiu City!

Just like Yuan Benchu, who has surrounded Gongsun Bogui for a year, and hasn't taken Gongsun Bogui's old nest yet!

Ancient city-attacking battles are extremely difficult to fight!

"Fengxiao, then the lord is planning to?"

Looking at Guo Jia in confusion, Lu Su didn't understand!

Lin Yang didn't hesitate to fight with the opponent outside the city, and also had to fight with Yuan Gonglu, what is this for?

Yanzhou, Lu State, Fan County.

"What exactly does this Lin Ziyuan want to do?"

Cao Mengde looked at the intelligence in his hand, and the whole person didn't understand!

During this month, the battle intelligence of Xia Qiu City, Cao Mengde also paid special attention to it!

He stationed troops here!

What he was waiting for was the victory or defeat of Xia Qiu City!

Result!

The intelligence obtained was that Lin Yang relied on the Wengcheng to go out of the city and fight with Yuan Gonglu!

Is this Lin Ziyuan stupid?

There is a city wall, but he doesn't use it, and has to send sixty thousand troops to fight with them?

"Zhicai, what do you think this Lin Ziyuan wants to do?"

Cao Mengde didn't understand; Xia Qiu City, although not a strong city, had Wengcheng and catapults, Lin Yang only needed to defend the city and counterattack step by step!

Yuan Gonglu could at most take the eight thousand soldiers in the Wengcheng!

But Yuan Gonglu needed to pay at least thirty or forty thousand soldiers!

After that, relying on the city wall of Xia Qiu City, even if Yuan Gonglu's two hundred thousand were finished, he wouldn't be able to take it down!

The more Lin Ziyuan is like this, the more Cao Mengde panics!

"My lord, this person has a big plan!"

Xi Zhicai's face was extremely ugly, his eyes stared dead at the position on the map, and then he took a deep breath!

"My lord, we need to retreat immediately!"

After a while, Xi Zhicai opened his eyes and looked firmly at Cao Mengde!

"Retreat?"

This time, they stationed troops here, except for obtaining some food from several counties in Xiapi Commandery, they didn't occupy a single city!

"Zhicai, aren't you going to sit and watch the changes?"

Cao Mengde was confused; before, wasn't Xi Zhicai's strategy to sit here and watch the victory or defeat of Yuan Gonglu and Lin Ziyuan?

If he wins, attack Xuzhou!

If he loses, attack Yuzhou!

Why did he suddenly retreat!

"My lord, Lin Ziyuan sending troops out of the city is to lure Yuan Gonglu!"

In Xi Zhicai's eyes, a trace of fear appeared!

According to the news he knew, Lin Ziyuan was only twenty-something years old!

At this age, he actually has such temperament and city government!

"Lure Yuan Gonglu?"

Cao Mengde frowned; he didn't understand, Lin Yang is the defending side, what is he luring Yuan Gonglu with?

"My lord, if you attack Xia Qiu, Lin Ziyuan's one hundred thousand troops defend the city, with Wengcheng catapults outside, to hurt your army, what would you do?" Xi Zhicai looked at Cao Mengde and asked back!

"That goes without saying, of course, split troops to seize food, and then..."

Cao Mengde said, and then was stunned!

Yes!

If it were him!

Once he saw Lin Yang like this, he would definitely give up directly!

The casualties of attacking the city are at least five times higher!

Like Lin Yang, who took the initiative to send out sixty thousand troops and maintained the casualty ratio at one to two, there are very few!

It is precisely because of this that Cao Mengde felt it was abnormal!

Now, after Xi Zhicai's point, Cao Mengde reacted instantly!

"Zhicai, are you saying that Lin Ziyuan deliberately let the soldiers go out of the city to fight, and also deliberately maintained this casualty ratio?"

Cao Mengde swallowed his saliva; he didn't dare to believe his guess!

If so, then Lin Yang's purpose is!

"That's right, Lin Ziyuan is deliberate. In this casualty ratio, besides the soldiers in the Wengcheng, most of Lin Yang's soldiers should be wounded!" Xi Zhicai's expression was solemn, and he said slowly, "This also gives Yuan Gonglu an illusion that there are few soldiers in the city and he still has a chance!"

"Once this happens, Yuan Gonglu's army will inevitably fight to the death with Lin Yang outside Xia Qiu City!"

Speaking to the end, Xi Zhicai was extremely wary of Lin Ziyuan in his heart!

This Lin Ziyuan is not trying to repel Yuan Gonglu at all!

What he wants is to eat Yuan Gonglu's two hundred thousand troops!

"Zhicai, Lin Ziyuan's goal is Yuzhou!"

Cao Mengde reacted and quickly pointed to the map of Yuzhou!

If it were normal, once Lin Ziyuan defended the city, Yuan Gonglu would leave three or five thousand troops and inevitably plunder the counties of Xuzhou and then retreat!

After all, if he couldn't take it down for a long time and suffered heavy casualties, Yuan Gonglu wouldn't be stupid enough to fight Xia Qiu City!

Once Yuan Gonglu's one hundred thousand troops retreat!

If Lin Yang wants to attack Yuzhou, the situation of offense and defense will have to be swapped!

With more than thirty thousand troops defending the cities of Yuzhou, even with catapults, how many troops would be needed to attack them one by one?
