Chapter 44

In less than two short months!

The grain price in Jiangdu County had plummeted to the bottom!

A grain price of thirty coins a stone could be considered extremely cheap.

On the city walls, Lin Yang and Cheng Yu looked at the stabilizing grain prices with great relief.

Although he had shouldered some infamy and offended a portion of the noble families!

But looking at the results!

They were good!

The grain prices in Jiangdu County had recovered, and he had even made a huge profit from it.

"Zhongde, the matter of recruiting refugees to expand the army and forging weaponry should be moved up the schedule!"

Glancing at the current snow, which was beginning to thaw, Lin Yang felt a sense of urgency!

If he remembered correctly!

Before long, following the issuance of the edict for the Anti-Dong Alliance, the eighteen feudal lords would raise their armies to crusade against Dong Zhuo!

Lin Yang was still thinking of joining in the excitement for such a major event!

It was a pity!

Currently, the soldiers in Jiangdu County numbered no more than four thousand!

Their training time was still short, and armor and equipment were also insufficient!

Dealing with ordinary Huang Jin bandits was naturally no problem!

But wanting to deal with Dong Zhuo's Xiliang Iron Cavalry was absolutely impossible!

Having been in this world for some time, Lin Yang was gradually integrating into this chaotic era!

"My lord, the matter of recruiting refugees is already being done. As for forging armor, that will likely take some time!"

Cheng Yu bowed and said, his expression showing a hint of difficulty!

Recruiting refugees was simple!

As long as there was grain, it could naturally be done!

But this matter of armor was very troublesome!

Soldiers in the Han Dynasty generally wore armor, divided into two types!

One was leather armor, worn by most ordinary soldiers!

Although it could provide a certain degree of defensive capability, the effect was very poor!

The other was iron armor!

This was generally forged from refined iron and could protect key parts, with astonishing defensive effects!

But forging iron armor was very troublesome!

To sum it up in one point: there was not enough raw iron!

Nor was there enough time!

"Raw iron, huh!"

Hearing this, Lin Yang also felt a bit of a headache!

At this moment, he remembered that the iron-smelting technique of the Eastern Han Dynasty did not seem to be very developed!

Even during the time of Emperor Wu of Han, there were not many soldiers who could wear iron armor!

The armor-wearing rate of the Han Dynasty actually did not even reach half!

That is to say, in an army of ten thousand, at least five thousand or more had no armor protection at all!

It was not until the Song Dynasty era, with the improvement of iron-smelting techniques!

That the army's armor-wearing rate exceeded fifty percent, reaching about seventy percent!

"Let's proceed with the armor forging first, I will think of another way!"

After saying this, Cheng Yu, who was beside him, did not hold much hope!

Ironware was different from grain!

Wanting to quickly obtain a large amount of ironware was impossible!

The Great Han had quite a few armories before!

Among them were also quite a few armors!

But during the Huang Jin Uprising, those small armories had long been emptied!

Even in the few large armories, there were not many armors left!

Half a day later, Lin Yang, who was full of worries, returned to the backyard of the county office!

"Raw iron!"

He muttered to himself. Regarding this raw iron, Lin Yang truly had no way!

Firstly, he did not know of any iron mines!

Secondly, even if there were iron mines, he did not have advanced mining and iron-smelting techniques!

"Sigh, what a pity. If I could return to the modern era, let alone raw iron, even steel would be easily obtainable!"

Sighing to himself, Lin Yang was left at a loss for a moment!

But the next moment, as if he had thought of something, Lin Yang's eyes suddenly brightened!

Wait!

Return to the modern era?!

The system!

In an instant, Lin Yang thought of his golden finger!

He indeed could not return to the modern era!

But didn't he still have a reputation-based marketplace!

"System, does your reputation-based marketplace have raw iron available for purchase?!"

His system could sell instant noodles, ham, and other supplies; this raw iron should also count as a type of supply, right!

"Ding, the current marketplace level is insufficient. Please upgrade the reputation-based marketplace level!"

In his mind, a mechanical voice rang out. Hearing this response, Lin Yang was not disappointed; instead, his eyes shone with brilliance!

The system did not say it was impossible!

This meant that it could be rolled in the reputation-based marketplace!

Thinking of the reputation value that had just broken through ten million two days ago, Lin Yang became impatient at this moment!

"System, upgrade the reputation-based marketplace!"

He said to his mind, placing all his hope on his marketplace!

"Ding, reputation-based marketplace upgraded!"

"Ding, congratulations to the host for unlocking tier-three reputation-based goods!"

"Ding, congratulations to the host for obtaining a special goods purchase tab!"

In his mind, a series of prompt sounds rang out. The next moment, a brilliant light appeared before his eyes!
