Chapter 66: Troops dispatched to Sishui Pass to rescue Sun Wentai!

"Damn it, how detestable!"

Inside his camp, the returned Yuan Shu was cursing indignantly at this moment!

It was one thing that he hadn't snatched the position of alliance leader during this assembly!

But now, he was in charge of grain and fodder!

Yet there were still people eating better than their coalition army!

And that person named Lin Ziyuan actually didn't fall under his command!

"My lord, do not be troubled!"

Yan Xiang, who knew the course of events, spoke up, then slowly leaned in and whispered into Yuan Shu's ear!

Listening to his strategist's suggestion, Yuan Shu's eyes couldn't help but gleam with brilliance!

"Haha, good, I shall go do it right now!"

Speaking these words, Yuan Shu hurried away!

Meanwhile, Lin Yang, at this moment, did not yet know that he had inexplicably been targeted by Yuan Shu!

"Brother Meng De, I entrust this matter to you!"

Outside the camp, Lin Yang said with a cupped-hand salute!

"Zi Yuan, I shall do my best!"

Cao Mengde nodded and also turned to leave.

Watching Cao Cao's retreating back, Lin Yang knew that whether it would succeed or not depended on luck.

The historical evaluation of Gongsun Bogui was not exactly positive!

"Zan relied on his talent and strength, had no compassion for the common people, remembered grudges but forgot kindness, was vengeful for the slightest grievance, and if any virtuous scholar in the province had a reputation greater than his, he would surely harm them with the law!"

This was the historical evaluation of Gongsun Zan!

During the great disaster in Youzhou, he ignored whether the people lived or died, sitting and waiting for them to trade children to eat!

When the people had a bountiful harvest, he would drive his army to seize their crops to accumulate grain and fodder!

Based on these things alone, it was inevitable that he would be defeated by Yuan Shao!

"I just don't know if Cao Cao can pull it off!"

Muttering in his heart, Lin Yang felt no certainty at this moment!

He would have liked to meet Gongsun Zan in person!

But with his background, Gongsun Zan wouldn't even see him!

However, if it didn't work!

He would have to think of another way!

No matter what!

He had to get his hands on Zhao Zilong, who was under Gongsun Zan's command, no matter what!

As time passed bit by bit, the coalition of warlords stationed in the surroundings also split into three routes and began heading toward Sishui Pass!

On the march

"What? You want me to go support General Sun Wentai?!"

Looking at Yuan Shu, Qiao Mao, and the others before him, Lin Yang was completely stunned!

Sun Jian had set out a month ago to attack Sishui Pass!

According to the progress of the war, he should be fighting against Dong Zhuo's soldiers right now!

At a time like this!

To send him to support Sun Jian!

What were they trying to do?

"Lin Ziyuan, since you have come to assist in the crusade against the traitor Dong, you surely won't refuse, will you!"

As these calm words were spoken, Cao Cao, standing to the side, was immediately displeased!

"Gonglu, Zi Yuan only has a mere two thousand soldiers; how can he withstand the iron cavalry of the traitor Dong!"

There was a trace of anger in Cao Mengde's eyes!

Lin Yang was merely a County Magistrate; that he could bring troops to support them was already a sign of his loyalty and courage for the Han Dynasty!

Sending him to the front line now was surely a death sentence!

"Meng De, that is where you are wrong!"

Yuan Shu glanced at Cao Cao and directly ignored the other's fury!

"We have assembled for the sake of the Han and the imperial court; does having few troops mean we should not fight the traitor Dong?"

Under these words, Cao Mengde was left speechless.

Lin Yang looked at Yuan Shu's expression and couldn't help but mutter to himself!

He hadn't offended the other party!

However!

Although he didn't understand why the other party was like this!

At this moment, he could only agree!

Seeing Lin Yang agree, Yuan Shu and the others left, satisfied!

"Sigh!"

Cao Cao let out a sigh, his gaze fixed on Lin Yang, feeling quite reluctant!

A mere two thousand soldiers to support Sun Wentai!

This journey could be described as having more misfortune than fortune!

After a fierce battle, there would likely be a crushing defeat!

"Meng De, the matter of contacting Gongsun Bogui is left to you!"

Saying this to Cao Cao, Lin Yang didn't have many thoughts about this errand!

Although he didn't know Yuan Shu's intentions!

He wouldn't be foolish enough to take his own men to their deaths!

Furthermore!

He was familiar with history!

Since Liu Xuande was among the eighteen-route alliance!

Then it stood to reason that this was the historical world of the Romance!

In that case!

Sun Jian was about to suffer a crushing defeat!

Thinking this in his heart, Lin Yang ordered Dian Wei and Li Gang to organize the troops and set out!

As the army set out, inside the military camp

"Arrange the men; once they return in defeat, immediately send people to rescue them!"

Yuan Shu watched Lin Yang and the others leave, a smile appearing on his face!

If he didn't give them baggage, it didn't matter!

He could just go and seize it himself!

Lin Yang had only a mere two thousand men!

Once they were struck by Dong Zhuo's soldiers and returned in defeat!

Wouldn't all that grain and baggage become his!

"My lord, rest assured, General Zhang Xun has already set out with six thousand soldiers!" Yan Xiang, standing to the side, spoke up! ===== CHAPTER 67 =====
