Chapter 72: The iron-clad Buddha, armed to the teeth, extremely brutal

Outside Sishui Pass, on a hillside

"My lord, should we support the battle below?"

Zhang Xun, leading six thousand troops here, watched the scene of Sun Jian's defeat below without being moved in the slightest!

He was a general under Yuan Shu; for this alliance, Yuan Shu, as the Administrator of Nanyang, had brought a total of twenty thousand troops!

Apart from being in charge of grain and fodder, Yuan Shu's main army had not taken any action!

"No need to pay attention, our task is to wait for Lin Ziyuan to be routed!"

Zhang Xun shook his head, having no intention of supporting them!

If Sun Jian was wiped out, so be it!

It would be just right to wait for Lin Ziyuan to be routed, then they would strike in one fell swoop, defeat the Western Liang iron cavalry, and gather the remnants of both sides!

This way, they could complete the task assigned by the lord and gather Lin Ziyuan's grain and fodder!

And maximize their benefits!

As for whether Lin Ziyuan's two thousand soldiers could withstand the Western Liang iron cavalry!

Did that even need thinking?

That was the Xiliang iron cavalry that could defeat Sun Jian!

If it weren't for the fact that he had six thousand troops here!

He wouldn't dare to contend with them either!

"Kill... kill... kill..."

Accompanied by roars, the next moment, Zhang Xun, looking down from a high position, saw Lin Ziyuan take the initiative to send troops into battle!

"Foolish, against the Xiliang iron cavalry, using arrows to wear them down is the best choice!"

Sending infantry to challenge the Xiliang iron cavalry, even with arrow suppression, it was impossible to win!

Zhang Xun cursed, but the next moment, the development of the situation on the field was somewhat beyond his expectations!

He saw a sturdy man, eight feet tall and wrapped in iron armor, holding double halberds, charging straight into the Xiliang iron cavalry in the pitch-black dense forest!

The Xiliang iron cavalry, already blocked by arrows, hadn't reacted before several were knocked off their horses by the iron halberds!

Throwing the halberds in his hands, he directly took away the clamoring Hua Xiong with one strike!

Then, in just a short moment, the large Xiliang iron cavalry formation was in chaos, scattered by a group of iron-clad infantry!

"These, these are county soldiers?!"

Zhang Xun looked at the armored soldiers below in astonishment, completely stunned!

In his impression!

The armor of the Han Dynasty, for ordinary soldiers, was leather armor!

Only elite soldiers could wear iron armor!

But even so, it was just wearing a hood and fish-scale armor!

Being able to protect the chest and head was already quite good!

But these soldiers below were wrapped in armor all over their bodies; their heads, shoulders, arms, and even their legs were armored!

Damn!

What the hell is this?

At this moment, not only was Zhang Xun stunned, but Sun Jian, who was in the middle of the battlefield, was also stunned!

The momentum of this group of armored soldiers was simply too fierce!

Being clad in armor was one thing, but they fought like death squads, fearless of death!

They were even shouting that it was time to repay their lord!

What kind of cohesion was this!

"Quick, retreat quickly!"

"Ah, retreat quickly, cover the lord's retreat!"

"Damn it, these armored soldiers are crazy!"

"..."

The iron cavalry that had roamed Xiliang were now, under Seeing Dian Wei's leadership, scattered and fleeing!

Without the charge of the warhorses, the strength of these people was far too different from Seeing Dian Wei and the others!

Of the five hundred Xiliang iron cavalry, after a fierce battle, only a dozen or so remained to protect the injured Hua Xiong as they fled in a hurry!

Watching the Xiliang iron cavalry flee in panic, until the battle ended, Sun Jian, Cheng Pu, and the others were still shaken!

"My lord, the Xiliang iron cavalry has been defeated!"

After a long while, Cheng Pu said in disbelief!

Five hundred Xiliang iron cavalry had actually been defeated by less than two thousand infantry!

Even with the help of arrows!

This was too incredible! ===== CHAPTER 73 =====
