Chapter 74

Under the night sky

On the wide road, as Lin Yang and the others gathered the remnants, many soldiers who had fled in defeat were also gathered back one by one!

During the previous camp raid, many had fled in all directions, but not many had been killed!

In a short time, Sun Jian's side had gathered four thousand defeated soldiers!

However, Sun Jian and the others had no time to pay attention to these defeated soldiers!

"Zi Yuan, your heavy-armored soldiers are truly astonishing!"

Walking at the front of the team with Lin Yang, Sun Jian looked at Seeing Dian Wei by Lin Yang's side and couldn't help but exclaim in secret!

Clad in heavy armor, with his head, arms, and everything else wrapped, and two iron halberds stuck at his waist, he had made the Xiliang iron cavalry lose their helmets and armor; it was truly astonishing!

"General Wentai is joking; although this iron armor is good, it is not easy to forge!"

Riding on his horse, watching Sun Jian stare at Seeing Dian Wei, Lin Yang couldn't help but laugh lightly!

This heavy iron armor was something he had specially forged!

With the three hundred thousand catties of refined iron obtained earlier, and the craftsmen forging with all their might, they had only managed to forge one thousand sets of armor!

"Although it is not easy to forge, being able to shake cavalry with infantry is truly amazing!"

Sun Jian looked at the iron armor, his eyes showing a hint of interest!

If he could also forge a batch of such iron armor, he might be able to contend with the Xiliang iron cavalry!

"Haha, General Wentai is too kind!"

Lin Yang saw Sun Jian's interest but didn't say much!

Cheng Pu, who was by Sun Jian's side, seemed to have seen something and slowly reminded him!

"My lord, although this iron armor is good, it is not something ordinary soldiers can wear!"

Cheng Pu's gaze swept over Lin Yang's soldiers; now most of the soldiers had taken off their armor, leaving only fish-scale armor to protect their chests!

Moreover, judging by their pace and breathing!

The battle just now had consumed a great deal of energy!

These sturdy men, having fought only one battle, were already like this!

It was evident how heavy that full set of armor was!

"Hmm?"

Listening to Cheng Pu's analysis, Sun Jian also took a look!

Except for Seeing Dian Wei by Lin Yang's side, who was still clad in heavy armor and unaffected, the others all showed signs of fatigue to varying degrees!

"That's right, this iron armor is simply too heavy; the armor alone weighs more than thirty catties!"

Lin Yang nodded; since he had been seen through, he spoke directly!

Now, this heavy iron armor was not yet in its most complete state, and it already weighed more than thirty catties!

Once the fish-scale armor on the soldiers' chests was replaced with the iron armor, the weight would be even more astonishing!

Ordinary people, let alone wearing it to fight!

Even just putting it on, they probably wouldn't be able to walk!

Precisely because of this, the heavy armor must be paired with warhorses!

"More than thirty catties?!"

Hearing this weight, the fire in Sun Jian's eyes was instantly extinguished!

The soldiers of the Han Dynasty, wearing fish-scale armor, weighed at most twelve or thirteen catties!

Even so, it required soldiers to train extensively to avoid affecting their combat effectiveness!

Fighting while wearing more than thirty catties of iron armor was indeed not something ordinary soldiers could do!

"Zi Yuan's subordinates are truly a tiger-and-wolf army!"

Understanding the weight of the heavy armor, and then looking at Lin Ziyuan's soldiers, even Sun Jian, who considered himself an elite general, sighed!

However, he didn't know that the one thousand armored men under Lin Yang were the elite selected from six thousand, and for several consecutive months, they had eaten meat until they were full at every meal!

Only then did they have the qualifications to wear iron armor and fight a battle!

Meanwhile, in the coalition camp on the other side

"What, Sun Wentai has been defeated?"

Under the night sky, as the scouts of the defeated soldiers arrived, the entire coalition camp exploded!

Sun Jian, the vanguard, had been like a hot knife through butter before, how could he suddenly be defeated!

This was a huge blow to the morale of the entire coalition! ===== CHAPTER 75 =====
