Chapter 59: A little clever idea!

~5 min read 872 words

However, Classmate Classmate Tengyuan Kui thought about it again and felt fortunate—it was lucky she knew in advance that Natsume Chikage didn't have any plans for romance for the time being.

If she had confessed rashly, she would definitely have been rejected, and that would truly be a regret.

However, after learning that Natsume Chikage didn't want to date because of his family situation, Classmate Classmate Tengyuan Kui's curiosity about him grew even stronger.

She vaguely remembered Natsume Chikage mentioning that his family had gone bankrupt, but she didn't know exactly how dire the situation was.

To be honest, Classmate Classmate Tengyuan Kui didn't care about the family background of the boy she liked.

Her family wasn't short of money, so she had never worried about that.

As for the expenses of dating, she could pay for everything herself!

But to what extent did Natsume Chikage's "economic situation improves" have to reach to be considered up to standard?

She really wanted to ask, but was afraid that being too direct would reveal her feelings.

After thinking it over, Classmate Classmate Tengyuan Kui felt that perhaps she could try to find out from Natsume Chikage's younger sister, Ruri?

If she could become good friends with Ruri, not only could she learn about Natsume Chikage's preferences, but she might also be able to indirectly close the distance between them.

She remembered Natsume Chikage saying that he went to retrieve his father's heirlooms purely to make his younger sister happy.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have gone, which showed how much he valued this younger sister.

Thinking of this, Classmate Classmate Tengyuan Kui secretly decided: start with Natsume Ruri, and gradually understand and conquer Natsume Chikage!

As for what reason to use to approach Ruri, she already had a little clever idea in her heart!

Inside the classroom of Class 1-A.

Natsume Chikage had just walked through the door when he saw his neighbor Yukimura Lingyin and Xiyuanji Qilai already seated.

Before he could reach his seat, several classmates greeted him enthusiastically.

Natsume Chikage responded politely one by one.

Just as he put down his schoolbag, Xiyuanji Qilai turned her head with a smile: "Good morning, Natsume-kun."

"Good morning, Xiyuanji-san." Natsume Chikage responded.

Just as he was about to stuff his schoolbag into his desk, Xiyuanji Qilai suddenly stopped him: "Please wait a moment, Natsume-kun."

Natsume Chikage paused: "What's wrong?"

Xiyuanji Qilai didn't answer immediately, but leaned in slightly.

Looking at her so close, Natsume Chikage was a bit stunned.

Clearly, he hadn't expected her to approach suddenly.

Xiyuanji Qilai reached out and gently took a pink petal from his hair.

"A cherry blossom petal fell on your hair." She opened her palm, showing the complete petal, and after examining it for a moment, she smiled: "This should have drifted down from the cherry blossom tree on the road from the school gate to the teaching building."

"Thank you, I didn't even notice." Natsume Chikage was a bit surprised.

Xiyuanji Qilai didn't throw the petal away, but sat back in her seat, carefully tucking it into the page of the book she was reading, then turned to Natsume Chikage and asked curiously:

"Natsume-kun, I heard that starting this noon, clubs will be setting up stalls downstairs for recruitment."

"Do you plan to visit at noon, or after school?"

Natsume Chikage thought for a moment:

"After school."

"I have something to do at noon."

Actually, Natsume Chikage had just looked at those few love letters.

He found that the girl who gave him the special equipment needed him to go and reply at noon.

So at noon, even if clubs had started setting up stalls on the cherry blossom road, he really didn't have time to visit and learn about anything.

Xiyuanji Qilai blinked her lively big eyes:

"But aren't you going to work in the afternoon?"

Natsume Chikage explained:

"Work starts at five."

"And we get out of school at three."

"There's plenty of time."

"What about you, do you have anything urgent this afternoon?"

"If you do, you don't actually have to wait for me; I can go by myself."

Xiyuanji Qilai shook her head:

"No."

"I'm free anytime."

Natsume Chikage confirmed:

"Then let's set it for after school?"

Xiyuanji Qilai nodded with a smile:

"Okay."

After setting the time, Xiyuanji Qilai turned to Yukimura Lingyin, who was focused on reading a novel in the front row.

"Lingyin, did you already join the Literature Force yesterday?"

Yukimura Lingyin turned her head to look at Xiyuanji Qilai, her cold voice carrying undisguised contempt for the 'Literature Force':

"Join? How is that possible!"

"Rather than calling it a Literature Force, it's more like a club that uses literature as a facade, but the content is so barren and empty it's outrageous."

"It doesn't even have a basic literary atmosphere; its very existence is a desecration of the word 'literature'."

"Such a club that doesn't live up to its name has no value in existing at all!"

"A club that lacks the necessary rigor and minimum pursuit of literature is like a restaurant that claims to provide exquisite cuisine, but the menu only has perfunctory fast food products."

"Besides wasting time and expectations, it's meaningless!" ===== CHAPTER 60 =====
