Chapter 8: Old Deadbeat Gives In
Don't worry! The bumper isn't broken, just scraped off some paint; but if you repaint it, it'll be a few hundred to a few thousand, depending on what the car owner thinks and how they want to fix it—going to a 4S store would definitely be expensive!
Hearing Lin Feng's voice, Wen Keke raised her head.
Seeing it was Lin Feng, she immediately stood up and said with a smile, "Mr. Lin, so it's you!"
Lin Feng nodded.
"Mr. Lin, what should we do?"
Wen Keke glanced at the front ends of the cars pressed together and said helplessly.
Lin Feng got into the car and skillfully reversed Wen Keke's car into the parking spot.
He turned off the engine, pulled out the key and got out, Lin Feng slipped the car key into Wen Keke's hand, "For a novice parking, it's best to choose an open spot—like over there where there's a large empty parking area; you can walk a few extra steps getting in and out!"
Wen Keke nodded.
Lin Feng raised his wrist and checked the time on his watch.
It was already ten o'clock at night.
Wen Keke took out her phone, looked at the phone number left on the lower left corner of the front window of the black BMW, and dialed it.
The call went through, and Wen Keke pressed the speakerphone.
"Hey~ who is it!"
A lazy voice sounded.
Although it was a voice coming from the phone, Lin Feng found it familiar as he listened.
Taking another look at the number Wen Keke dialed, isn't that Guo Yanru's cell phone number?
What a coincidence!
Before Wen Keke could speak, Lin Feng said, "Sister, sorry, while helping someone park I scraped your car and chipped the paint."
The phone transmitted an "ah" sound, then it said, "You brat, you're getting revenge on me, huh! The repair costs will be deducted from the rent!"
Having said that, she hung up.
Lin Feng knew that Guo Yanru's threat to deduct money was just talk.
He had already yielded a step; Guo Yanru wouldn't quibble over such a trifle.
"Mr. Lin, thank you!"
Wen Keke said gratefully.
"It's nothing, just a small matter. It's late; see you tomorrow."
After saying that, Lin Feng turned and walked to his own Land Rover, opened the door and got in.
He drove out of the parking spot, waved at Wen Keke, and drove away.
His schedule was packed full.
However, although Saturday was a day off, Lin Feng slept in.
He only got out of bed at eight o'clock.
Today's first item on the agenda was to go to Jinhuxiaoqu, so that Wen Keke could sign a co‑rental contract with another woman.
Having just finished washing up and changed into casual clothes, his phone rang.
Lin Feng picked up his phone and saw the caller ID showing "Spring Garden Property".
He curled the corner of his mouth and answered the call.
"Mr. Lin, the person surnamed Yang would like to invite you over to sit down and discuss things properly......"
"I understand."
Lin Feng nodded and hung up.
"Discuss!?"
Lin Feng gave a cold smile.
Many people have a hard time getting by.
But not all of these people deserve sympathy and pity.
Even if one is poor and in difficult circumstances, one should still follow the rules, right?
Half an hour later, Lin Feng arrived at Spring Garden.
After parking, he went straight to the Property Management Office.
Yang Long, Yang Fei, and two women were already seated here waiting.
Lin Feng glanced at these four people and could see that they all had dark circles under their eyes, looking exhausted.
Lin Feng walked over and sat down.
The clerk at the Property Management Office poured Lin Feng a cup of tea.
The Yang family didn't receive such treatment.
Lin Feng took a sip of tea and said lightly, "I'll say it straight: you family make up six months' rent and move out immediately!"
As soon as his words fell, Yang Long gave a hehe laugh.
His eyes actually showed a fierce expression.
Yang Fei gritted his teeth, furrowed his brow and said, "Mr. Lin, when my father rented the house he still had several hundred thousand in savings, but after he passed away that money disappeared……"
"So what?"
Before Yang Fei could finish speaking, Lin Feng laughed and said.
Yang Fei fell silent for a moment, then continued, "He very likely paid several decades' worth of rent in one lump sum; my father liked to do that—back at home he would even pay a month's meat money all at once to the pork vendor……"
Having said that, he glanced at his older brother Yang Long.
Lin Feng laughed again; from their micro‑expressions he could tell that Yang Fei and Yang Long were obviously lying.
They just wanted to find an excuse to keep living here without paying rent.
Or when moving out, have Lin Feng come up with some money to subsidize them.
"What do you mean?"
Lin Feng asked with a sneer.
Yang Long said: "First, let us stay another ten years, during which we won't pay rent. No matter how much money my father previously gave, we'll consider it settled."
"Second, if you don't agree to the first condition, then refund the ten‑thousand rent, and we'll move out immediately."
Lin Feng smiled slightly. "What if I don't agree to either of these two conditions?"
Yang Long's eyes flashed with a fierce light. "Mr. Yang, don't push us. We're just poor people; barefoot we're not afraid of those wearing shoes. You, a rich person, shouldn't quibble over a little money with us poor folk."
"Your words sound like a threat to me?" Lin Feng sneered.
Yang Long remained silent.
Lin Feng shook his head. "Actually, there are some methods I don't want to use. If I wanted, I could drive you to a dead end."
For example, if this kind of harassment continues,
All four of your family members have jobs; with my methods, I can make you unable to find work in Yanjing, even sweeping streets.
Moreover, your four children are all auditing students, right? Believe it or not, I can get the school to expel them.
"You dare!"
As soon as his words fell, Yang Long jumped up.
Lin Feng sneered: "No matter how much money I have, what does it have to do with you? If you want to blame someone, blame King Yan for not letting you be reborn well."
Don't play tricks with me; there are plenty of people willing to sell out for money. Don't force me to spend money to find people to deal with you.
Also, before acting rashly, think about your own wife and children—what if they're locked up, or worse, you're gone? What would happen to your wife and children?
Having said that, Lin Feng stood up and walked toward the door.
Yang Long's aura instantly weakened, and he shouted, "Mr. Lin, wait!"
Lin Feng stopped.
Yang Long stood up, pleading: "We'll make up half a year's rent, and from now on pay monthly on time; let us stay. We work nearby—if we move, we'll lose our jobs."
Lin Feng frowned: "That's your problem. Pay the rent and move out! That's non-negotiable. As for the rest, out of consideration for your four children, I won't argue with you."
Lin Feng had long seen through the brothers' character; if force doesn't work, he'll try soft tactics.
If we don't let them move out, given more time, in a few years they'll likely cause trouble again.
Seeing Lin Feng's firm stance, the two brothers had no choice but to immediately make up the rent and promise to move out tomorrow.
At ten o'clock, Lin Feng finally arrived at Jinhuxiaoqu.
Building 5, 17th floor, Unit 6.
After pressing the doorbell, the door opened quickly.
What appeared before Lin Feng's eyes, however, was not Wen Keke.
But rather a beautiful woman with curled hair, wearing a midriff-baring top and black jeans.
"Are you Mr. Lin? I'm Zhu Li, Keke's colleague."
Zhu Li extended her hand to Lin Feng.
Lin Feng thought, "Here we go again."
From Zhu Li's gaze, one could tell this is another resourceful woman.
However, compared to Guo Yanru, her cultivation is somewhat shallower.
Lin Feng reached out and shook Zhu Li's hand.
Upon entering the house, Wen Keke happened to come out.
Seeing Lin Feng, the adorable Wen Keke, dressed in pink casual attire, smiled and said, "Mr. Lin, you're here!"
"Good morning, you two!"
Lin Feng said with a smile.
It's already past noon, so it's not morning anymore.
But looking at the two beauties, it's obvious they just got out of bed.
After all, it's the weekend, and office workers all want to sleep in.
