Chapter 24: Donghai University, Enrollment

Donghai University.

Today is the day school starts; unlike in his past life, there are no scenes of seniors welcoming freshmen here.

Each freshman enters the school on their own and follows instructions to move into the school dormitories.

As the top scorer in the college entrance examination, Ye Tian does not need to share a dormitory with others; instead, he has his own independent apartment.

Not only that, he also has a reward of 1000 points.

University points are similar to the points of the Ability Association and can both be used to exchange for resources and Strange Arts.

Afterwards.

Ye Tian processed his school point card and other enrollment procedures.

Only then could he be considered to have truly entered Donghai University.

Donghai University is different from high school; there are no fixed classrooms, and classes are all self-study; one only needs to complete the assessments.

For a Talented Ability User, strength is the most important thing at this time, and everything else is secondary.

And every student is assigned a mentor.

Ye Tian was assigned to the Water Element mentor Li Haoyang; Li Haoyang is also a Grandmaster of Water-type Strange Technique, and his strength is extremely formidable.

In top-tier Ability Universities like Donghai University, top mentors are all at the Grandmaster Level of Strange Art, and a few professors are even at the Great Grandmaster level of Strange Art.

It can be said that the strength of Donghai University is incomparably formidable; the Donghai City Ability Association is far inferior to Donghai University.

Of course, the Ability Association possesses a large number of branches, and every city has one, while there is only this one Donghai University.

If one really wants to compare, Donghai University is just a little brother in front of the Xia Country Ability Association.

The next day.

Ye Tian was pulled into the freshman Water Element group by Li Haoyang, who then posted a notice.

"Fellow students, Donghai University freshmen have a Newcomer King title; those with strength can go and compete for it."

"The school's Library of Heaven's Path has various Strange Art books and cultivation experience; if your Strange Art cultivation hits a bottleneck, you can go there and take a look; perhaps you will have an inspiration to break through."

"If you have any questions regarding cultivation, you can also send a message to ask me; if I have time, I will answer."

"Do not look for me on Saturday and Sunday; as a teacher, I also need to rest."

……

After Li Haoyang went silent, a group of people started chatting in the group, introducing themselves to each other.

But Ye Tian was thinking about the Newcomer King.

He was very interested in this, so he checked the forum.

Only then did he realize the value of the Newcomer King; once the Newcomer King title is obtained, the benefits are too many.

Every previous Newcomer King would rise rapidly, with strength far exceeding other freshmen.

"This Newcomer King, I want it!"

Ye Tian muttered to himself.

To obtain the Newcomer King title, one must obtain a large number of points; like Ye Tian's 1000 points, they are a reward for being the top scorer in the college entrance examination and are not counted toward the Newcomer King points.

It is very difficult for freshmen to obtain points; completing course assessments can earn points, and completing missions can earn points, but these take up a lot of time, and the points obtained are not many.

"Battle Tower!"

This is the easiest channel for freshmen to obtain points.

The Battle Tower is a tower for testing strength; strictly speaking, it is an Illusion Technique tower. Falling in the Battle Tower does not mean actually dying; it only means losing some mental power.

The Battle Tower has many levels, and passing each level can earn quite a few points.

Just as Ye Tian was researching the Battle Tower, someone among the freshmen had already collected the list of those in this year's batch capable of competing for the Newcomer King, and even provided a ranking.

Soon, Ye Tian also found out.

"Eh, I am actually not ranked first!"

Ye Tian was stunned.

The key is that he was only ranked nineteenth; how much did they look down on him!

However, when he saw the information and data of the others, he knew why others did not think highly of him.

【Qin Yu, S-rank Thunder Element Talented Ability User, Intermediate Esper realm】

【Zhang He, S-rank Water Element Talented Ability User, Intermediate Esper realm】

【Xiao Ziyun, S-rank Fire Element Talented Ability User, Intermediate Esper realm】

【Bai Xuan, A-Grade Light Element Talented Ability User, Elementary Ability Master realm】

……

These people are all Talented Ability Users of A-Grade or above, and each of them has an extraordinary background.

Moreover, they are also all top scorers in the college entrance examination.

In one province, there is more than one perfect-score top scorer, and there is more than one province in Xia Country; even if the top ten Ability Universities share them, each university can get quite a few top scorers.

Furthermore, apart from being a top scorer in the college entrance examination, he has nothing else to show off.

Therefore, it is understandable that many people do not think highly of him.

"The strength these guys have displayed is only what has been exposed; perhaps they have even hidden their strength. It is not easy to obtain the Newcomer King!" Ye Tian frowned slightly.

These people might have a Grandmaster of Strange Art or even a Great Grandmaster of Strange Art behind them as backing, and they do not lack resources. If the powerhouses or families behind them cultivate them with all their might, perhaps they could break through again within three months.

It is said that the previous Newcomer King was an Advanced Esper.

"What is there to fear? I can keep cheating, and they cannot cheat."

Thinking this way, Ye Tian calmed down.

"Go to the Battle Tower first!"

Ye Tian quickly arrived at the Battle Tower.

At this moment, many people were already queuing to enter the Battle Tower to clear levels and thereby obtain points.

The difficulty of each level in the Battle Tower is very high; it is very difficult for a Primary Ability User to clear the first floor, for an Intermediate Ability User to clear the second floor, for an Advanced Ability User to clear the third floor, and for a Peak Ability User to clear the fourth floor.

It is very difficult for an Elementary Ability Master to clear the fifth floor, for an Intermediate Esper to clear the sixth floor, and for an Advanced Ability Master to clear the seventh floor.

Clearing the first floor grants 10 points, clearing the second floor grants 20 points, clearing the third floor grants 50 points, clearing the fourth floor grants 100 points, and clearing the fifth floor grants 200 points.

Clearing the sixth floor grants 500 points, and clearing the seventh floor grants 1000 points.

The eighth floor is 2000 points, the ninth floor is 5000 points, and the tenth floor is 10000 points.

These are the point rewards during the Newcomer King competition period; once this time has passed, the rewards will be far less than this.

For students like sophomores, if they clear the tenth floor, they are only rewarded with a few hundred points.

After all, this is giving things away for free; the school is not stupid, so how could they give away that much for nothing!

During the three-month period of the Newcomer King competition, very few people are able to clear above the seventh floor, so the school does not care about these small rewards.

Very quickly, Ye Tian queued up and entered the Battle Tower.

……

First floor.

A Level 1 Monster Beast materialized, and it was even a King Kong Ape, a Level 1 Monster Beast that Ye Tian had seen before.

"The first level is already a King Kong Ape; it is indeed very difficult for a Primary Ability User to defeat it!"

Ye Tian thought to himself.

Boom!

The King Kong Ape charged at Ye Tian.

Ye Tian casually used a Gold Needle Technique, instantly killing it and clearing the first floor.

Second floor, still an instant kill!

Third floor, still an instant kill!

Fourth floor, still an instant kill!

By the fifth floor, Ye Tian was facing three early-stage Level Two Beasts, and they were no ordinary Beasts.

"Flying Sky Demon Tigers, Level Two Beasts with A-Grade bloodline potential; among Elementary Ability Masters, how many can defeat them? The requirements set by the Donghai University Battle Tower are too high!"

Ye Tian sighed with emotion.

Yet, he still used the Hell Wood Thorn Technique to instantly kill these three Flying Sky Demon Tigers and cleared the fifth floor.
