Chapter 38: Contemplating an S-rank Treasure

The transformation of an Ability Organ is not that fast; it is inherently a gradual process.

Five days later, Ye Tian's Ability Organ truly finished its transformation, and his cultivation base officially broke through to the Primary Strange Art Master realm.

His physical fitness surged significantly, and his ability power became even more condensed and powerful.

"My cultivation base broke through too quickly; this would be too high-profile!"

At this moment, he recalled the Strange Art used by that Black Scale Clan member to conceal their cultivation base, though he could not practice the Strange Arts of the Scale Clan.

However, humans certainly must have Strange Arts for concealing one's cultivation base as well.

Consequently, he went to inquire about it and actually managed to find out about one such Strange Art.

The A-Grade Water-type Strange Technique, Turtle Breath Technique, and the B-Grade Water-type Strange Technique, Breath Holding Technique.

The Turtle Breath Technique can hide one minor realm when practiced to Entry Level, two minor realms when practiced to Small Success, three minor realms when practiced to Great Success, and if practiced to the Consummation Realm, it can hide one major realm.

For example, he is currently at the Primary Strange Art Master realm; if he were to practice the Turtle Breath Technique to the Consummation Realm, he could directly hide his cultivation base to the Elementary Ability Master realm, and even an Ability Grandmaster would not easily see through his true cultivation base.

The Breath Holding Technique is much worse; even if practiced to the Consummation Realm, it can at most hide two minor realms and is easily seen through.

The Turtle Breath Technique requires 300 Battle Merit to be exchanged.

He did not have much Battle Merit on hand, so he went to the East Sea Pavilion again and exchanged some rare materials he possessed for Battle Merit; although these materials were useful to him, he could obtain more Battle Merit later to exchange for them back.

……

"The Turtle Breath Technique has been exchanged!"

After Ye Tian received the inheritance of the Turtle Breath Technique, he began to practice it.

With the help of the Enlightenment Technique, the practice of the Turtle Breath Technique went very smoothly.

In just over a day, Ye Tian had practiced the Turtle Breath Technique to the Consummation Realm.

Subsequently, he activated the Turtle Breath Technique.

Instantly, the massive aura on his body gradually converged and became weak.

His cultivation base seemed to drop instantly from the Primary Strange Art Master realm to the Elementary Ability Master realm.

"It feels as if the power within my body is completely hidden, but as long as a thought arises, it can still erupt; it does not affect combat, it just makes outsiders unable to see my cultivation base clearly."

Ye Tian then hid his cultivation base to Intermediate Esper, Advanced Esper, and Peak Esper, switching back and forth between these realms to more skillfully control the Turtle Breath Technique at the Consummation Realm.

"Let's just maintain it at the Peak Esper realm!"

After all, he had always displayed his cultivation at this realm before; if he were to hide his cultivation to the Elementary Ability Master realm, even a fool would know he was hiding his cultivation!

"I must go obtain Battle Merit; without Battle Merit, many good things cannot be exchanged!"

Ye Tian went out from the East Sea Fortress and headed toward the Luo River again.

"That Scale Clan Grandmaster cannot possibly still be guarding there, and with my current strength, even if I really encountered the opponent, I would still be able to escape!"

Soon.

Ye Tian arrived at the Luo River again.

In the following few days, he searched for Luo River Purple Sand and hunted the Scale Clan at the Luo River.

As the days passed, he found a large amount of Luo River Purple Sand and also killed many Scale Clan members, confiscating their Identity Tokens.

During this period, he did not encounter any Scale Clan members at the Ability Grandmaster level.

There really were no good things on the Luo River side; Scale Clan Grandmasters rarely came here to waste time, and even killing some human Strange Art Masters would bring no benefit to a Scale Clan Grandmaster, only triggering a war between Grandmasters.

However, he did not encounter any more Black Scale Clan members; all those he killed were White Scale Clan members.

……

East Sea Fortress.

Ye Tian returned.

Battle Merit Exchange Office.

Ye Tian took out the Scale Clan Identity Tokens he had on him, piling them into a small heap, which attracted the attention of many people.

The staff member organized them for Ye Tian and, through inspection, calculated the Battle Merit.

"Mr. Ye Tian, you have obtained a total of 2100 Battle Merit this time!"

On his Battle Ring, Ye Tian's Battle Merit count quickly increased by 2100.

Subsequently.

Ye Tian went to the East Sea Pavilion again, exchanged those Luo River Purple Sand for Battle Merit, and also traded in all the items confiscated from the Scale Clan that could be exchanged for Battle Merit.

Just like that, he gathered a total of 3500 Battle Merit.

"3500 Battle Merit, enough to exchange for a chance to contemplate an S-rank Treasure!"

He had long wanted to contemplate an S-rank Treasure, so he immediately applied to the East Sea Fortress to contemplate an S-rank Treasure, but the application required queuing; there was a preferential treatment for the first application, which meant he could cut in line.

Therefore, in just two days, he could go to contemplate the S-rank Treasure.

The S-rank Treasure he chose was the S-rank Metal-type Treasure—Immortal Sacred Gold!

……

The fifth underground level of the East Sea Fortress.

S-rank Treasures were all stored here and were protected by layer upon layer of security.

Ye Tian also frequently went through layer-by-layer inspections to finally arrive here.

Soon.

He arrived at a secret chamber; this secret chamber was relatively large, and the surrounding walls were built using special materials, making them incomparably sturdy.

In the middle of the secret chamber, there was a small pedestal with a piece of silver-white metal emitting a strange glow resting on it.

"This is the Immortal Sacred Gold!"

Ye Tian tried to touch it, but an Array appeared around the Immortal Sacred Gold, blocking his movement.

"What a pity!"

Ye Tian thought to himself.

Otherwise, he would really want to touch it and rub off a bit of Gold Power!

There is a time limit for comprehending the Immortal Sacred Gold; he spent 3100 Battle Merit, which only allows for one day of comprehension.

"3100 Battle Merit only allows for one day of comprehension; this price is truly too expensive!"

Ye Tian sighed with emotion.

One can imagine just how expensive the real Immortal Sacred Gold must be!

But soon, he understood why comprehending an S-rank Treasure was so expensive!

He tapped a button on the small pedestal, and the Array above it activated.

Hum!!!

The energy within the Immortal Sacred Gold seemed to be drawn out.

The next moment, this secret chamber seemed to transform into a world of gold, and the true meaning and mysteries of the Metal Element seemed to be presented.

"So this is how one comprehends Metal Intent. Comprehending it this way will inevitably deplete the energy of the S-rank Treasure; an S-rank Treasure probably cannot last for too long, so it is understandable that it is so expensive!"

He did not waste time and immediately cast the Enlightenment Technique, causing his comprehension to skyrocket as he fell into an epiphany.

"Comprehend!"

As time passed, Ye Tian's understanding of Metal Intent grew deeper and deeper.

One percent, first realm!

One percent, second realm!

One percent, third realm!

Ye Tian's progress in Metal Intent was too fast, far beyond what could be compared to ordinary comprehension.

Unknowingly, one day passed.

At this moment, the Array stopped, the secret chamber door opened, and his comprehension time was up.

He checked his Data Panel and saw the realm of his Metal Element Strange Art.

【Intent: Ninth Sequence Metal Intent (five percent, first realm)】

"This progress is too fast, isn't it? Just one day of comprehension raised the Metal Intent to five percent, first realm. If I were to comprehend it for a few more days, wouldn't that be incredible?"

Of course.

He also knew that the higher the realm of intent, the more difficult it is to improve; wanting to raise the Ninth Sequence Metal Intent to the ten percent Consummation Realm is certainly not easy.

After his Metal Intent skyrocketed, Ye Tian subsequently went to test his strength, which had directly surged by a great deal.

However, compared to an Ability Grandmaster, his strength was still slightly lacking.
