Chapter 140: Inside Laboratory One

~7 min read 1,221 words

Opening his eyes once more, his vision captured the entire scene within the laboratory through the two electronic eyes on his chassis. Sun Cheng watched this familiar sight quietly and let out a long breath.

"Transmigration, how truly marvelous!"

This was not the first time Sun Cheng had felt such emotion; in fact, every round-trip transmigration only deepened his shock at this incredible phenomenon.

The memories retained in his brain still clearly told him of his tortuous experiences in the real world over the past period of time. Not only had he seen prehistoric creatures—dinosaurs—on an island in Central America that should have gone completely extinct hundreds of millions of years ago, but he had even encountered three intelligent extraterrestrial life forms on the island—the Hunters.

However, the time on the server in the laboratory before him would not lie. That set of numbers clearly told him that only a few dozen seconds had passed since he last checked before leaving.

Clenching his fists and re-experiencing the substantial sense of power in his Decepticon chassis, which was distinct from a human body, Sun Cheng actually felt a sense of security stronger than in the real world.

This strange feeling caused some inexplicable fluctuations in his emotions, but he quickly suppressed them.

Although the other world was good, there were too many people and things in the real world he could not let go of!

Looking at the laboratory where he was, Sun Cheng felt a bit hesitant at this moment.

The laboratory he was currently in was the largest warehouse within the former United States "Titan I" intercontinental strategic missile underground silo where he was based.

If he guessed correctly, this should have originally been the main storage warehouse for strategic missiles. Because the space was large enough—likely three or four thousand square meters—after he occupied the silo, Sun Cheng personally rearranged the circuits and other equipment, built it into his most important laboratory, and gave it the numerical code '1'.

Sun Cheng generally did not allow outsiders to enter Laboratory One; even his assistants, Atlas and Skywalker, were not permitted to enter without his orders.

The reason was simple: Sun Cheng intended to enter and exit from here every time he transmigrated, and some of the base's important equipment and items were also stored here.

Laboratory One was as large as more than half a standard soccer field, so it could naturally accommodate a spaceship.

However, Sun Cheng still hesitated for a good while before making up his mind. He found an open space in the laboratory far from the equipment and waved his hand in front of him.

The next moment, a pitch-black spaceship appeared out of thin air inside the laboratory.

"Consumed 37 points of energy..."

Brows furrowed on his alloy face, Sun Cheng looked pained; this was why he had hesitated just now about whether to take it out.

The Spherical Space within his body had evolved after absorbing a magical piece of Amber on Nublar Island, unlocking a storage function.

But while this storage function was convenient, both storing items inside and taking them out consumed energy.

For a large item like the Hunter spaceship, putting it in and taking it out cost him over seventy points of energy, almost half the cost of a single transmigration; it was no wonder he felt pained.

However, pain aside, Sun Cheng had to admit that this newly unlocked storage function was a huge help to him.

With a thought, several AllSpark Fragments he had been keeping somewhere inside his chassis were stored into the Spherical Space.

With the addition of the storage function, although saving and retrieving both consumed a certain amount of energy, it was also much more convenient and secure.

Especially since some items that previously could only be brought along during transmigration through close physical contact, and were restricted to electronic equipment, no longer had such constraints.

After sending a communication to Atlas, who was currently researching the remains of Jazz and analyzing the various alloy equipment used in his chassis, notifying him again that he would be conducting some experiments and not to disturb him unless there was an emergency,

he walked to the front of the spaceship and activated the Core's scanning function!

Two azure light beams immediately shot out from his pair of electronic eyes, illuminating the surface of the spaceship and beginning a comprehensive scan of its top, bottom, inside, and out. In Sun Cheng's mind, cold notification sounds rang out continuously.

"Scanning function activated... will perform a comprehensive scan of the object in front... anti-radiation isolation point detected on the outer shell, initiating enhanced scanning program... outer frame modeling complete... opening core scan, simultaneously initiating outer shell material analysis..."

Lines of data kept jumping in his Core. Relying on his strong Core performance, which far exceeded that of a Hunter by hundreds of times, Sun Cheng was scanning the data of this spaceship from the Hunter Civilization bit by bit.

"Outer shell analysis complete, confirmed that the material contains seventeen known metal elements including iron, titanium, and chromium, and two unknown elements... internal scan complete, all electronic equipment and circuit layouts have been mapped, beginning comprehensive modeling..."

The entire process took longer than he had imagined, totaling one hundred and seven minutes.

However, the results achieved were also significant!

When the two scanning beams were retracted, a satisfied smile could not help but appear on Sun Cheng's face.

"A nice harvest..."

The manufacturing technology used in this Hunter spaceship was not very sophisticated, especially its internal electronic equipment and circuits. With the industrial manufacturing capabilities of the United States in his current world, he could fully undertake the manufacturing of over seventy percent of the equipment within it, and could even achieve results superior to the Hunter Civilization.

However, there were also some pieces of equipment and technologies that human civilization could not achieve.

For example, some of the technologies and materials used in this spaceship were far beyond what current human civilization possessed. Especially for some of the alloys required, the methods of application had either not been discovered on Earth, or the reserves were too scarce, and most were located within the mantle, making mining extremely difficult.

Of course, these were also relative to humans.

With the technology of the planet Cybertron, manufacturing this spaceship would not be difficult. It was just that he was limited by the lack of human resources at his disposal; relying solely on the equipment and materials that Atlas and he had scavenged everywhere, it would be hard to build one without a few years of effort.

The problem of insufficient manpower would likely be hard to solve in the short term, so Sun Cheng could only temporarily suppress this thought and prepare to first try making some modifications based on the technology of this spaceship.
