Chapter 176: Taking Over

~9 min read 1,675 words

I stayed in the real world for another two days, running around the vicinity of Nandu to look for an OEM factory.

Unfortunately, after failing to find an enterprise with the capability to undertake the hard drive production business that Cybertron Technology Company was preparing to outsource, Sun Cheng had no choice but to give up for the time being.

After a brief moment of dizziness, he returned once again to his Base No. 1 in the Transformers world.

Sun Cheng shook his head, feeling the extraordinary vision brought by his two electronic eyes that was vastly different from that of a human, and his fist clenched slightly.

Having stayed in the real world for nearly a month, although he had returned to this world once in the middle, he had come in such a rush and left in such a hurry that it was not as good as now, which actually gave him a subtle illusion of returning home.

He raised his fist and lightly punched his own head.

Only then did Sun Cheng stand up from the ground, glancing into Laboratory No. 1, which did not have much equipment left, and the blue light in his electronic eyes suddenly flickered.

"It's about time, isn't it..."

The flow of time in the two worlds was not consistent, which forced Sun Cheng to calculate for a while in his mind before arriving at the answer that excited him immensely.

It had been about twenty days since his last meeting with Onslaught.

Back then, Onslaught had promised to let him come to the Canyon after half a month to take over that base of his.

Although Sun Cheng had always felt that this guy's slumber had come too suddenly.

Not long ago, he was still haggling with him over the trade of a few Workers, yet later he was actually generous enough to hand over a base he had operated for many years to him.

It was no wonder he was suspicious; anyone would think too much about it.

After thinking about it for a while and still unable to grasp Onslaught's intentions, Sun Cheng hesitated for a moment, but in the end, he could not resist the temptation of that base. After turning around to give instructions to the few Workers still at Base No. 1, he left the base and flew aimlessly for a while to cover his tracks. Only after confirming that he had not been captured by radar or satellites did he set his mind at ease and fly toward the Colorado Grand Canyon.

Landing once again on the large rock outside Onslaught's base, Sun Cheng tentatively activated his Core detection function and reached out toward the cave, the continuous detection waves feeding the scanned information back into his Core.

Not until he had completely scanned the entire base of Onslaught did he open his eyes again.

Onslaught was indeed gone!

The Core did not detect any information about him, but it did capture many other reactions, which stirred Sun Cheng's heart. No longer caring about any schemes he might have fallen into, he walked straight into the depths of the base.

The location of Onslaught's base was within the Colorado Grand Canyon; this was originally a mountain fissure born from geological processes, which had undergone some modifications after being discovered by Onslaught.

However, compared to his Base No. 2 in Brazil, the modifications here could not be called thorough.

Previously, because of Onslaught, Sun Cheng had never conducted a careful reconnaissance of it, but now, after a full scan by his Core, the structure of the base was finally laid bare before him.

"Lord Frenzy, you have finally come..."

As soon as he walked out of the long passage and into the spacious main hall, a Decepticon Worker immediately came up to meet him and said to him with envy.

Sun Cheng looked down at him from a high position, and no emotional fluctuations could be seen in his cold gaze.

He swept a cold glance across the main hall before nodding slightly, "When did Lord Onslaught leave? Do you know where he went?"

In the main hall, a squad of Decepticon Workers was gathered together; needless to say, they had received orders from their original master and were waiting for him to take over.

These Workers were not many, only nine in total, which did not match the data in his memory.

Clearly, Onslaught had taken some with him when he left, but the number would not be too large, at most about a squad.

Before the leading Decepticon Worker could speak, a Worker in the team answered him first, "Lord Frenzy, the Master left six days ago. As for where he went, we do not know!"

The title "Master" made Sun Cheng's eyes narrow slightly. He glanced at the Worker who had answered first and nodded without speaking, walking straight to a machine in the north corner of the main hall before stopping.

That was a machine that, in terms of human aesthetics, could definitely be called "bizarre."

It looked like a dead, half-cut iron tree, with metallic luster flashing on both the top and bottom, along with some patterns that Sun Cheng had only seen in the information transmitted by the AllSpark.

Although he did not know what this machine was for, he clearly remembered that Onslaught treasured this machine dearly; when he had come over before and just looked at it a few more times, that guy's expression had immediately become somewhat impatient.

"What is this?"

Staring at it for a moment, Sun Cheng turned and asked the squad of Workers waiting on the side.

"A Calculator, Lord Frenzy, this is a Calculator. Its calculation function is tens of thousands of times that of our Cores, and it also stores some data collected by the Master."

The core calculation functions of the Workers were not outstanding; Sun Cheng had once compared them with Atlas and the others, and his own Core surpassed them by at least hundreds of times.

So, upon hearing the explanation, his eyes immediately lit up, and he realized at once that this was something similar to a human supercomputer.

"Good stuff, no wonder Onslaught used to guard against me getting close to it..."

The performance of this supercomputer manufactured on the planet Cybertron was probably absolutely beyond imagination, and what made him even more unable to resist was the precious data that Onslaught might have saved inside the Calculator.

Resisting the urge to go up and fiddle with it immediately, Sun Cheng's inner doubts grew a bit more; Onslaught leaving behind such a precious thing—the more he thought about it, the less it made sense!

Since he couldn't figure it out, he simply stopped thinking about it!

After suppressing his impulse, he quickly issued an order to the few Workers: "Lord Onslaught asked me to come and take over this base. Now, I order you to dismantle all the equipment in the base and move it all here."

After the order was given, the main hall suddenly became quiet.

The few Decepticon Workers lowered their heads and whispered to each other, occasionally stealing a glance at him with strange looks in their eyes; clearly, Onslaught had never given them such instructions.

Sun Cheng let out a cold snort, his voice turning cold abruptly, "What, are you even going to disobey your own Master's orders?"

He deliberately bit hard on the word "Master," and in his pair of electronic eyes, he did not hide his ferocity at all, threatening the few Workers with murderous intent.

Having dealt with the Decepticons too many times, he now understood that this was a mechanical race of "survival of the fittest" and "hegemony above all else," where conspiracy and wisdom were often far less direct and effective than violence.

Sure enough, seeing him suddenly turn hostile, a Worker immediately jumped out fawningly and replied, "Master, we will go do it right away..."

Sun Cheng took a look and did not expect that this guy was actually the Decepticon Worker who had answered him first just now.

He did not care about an ambitious Decepticon, because ambition was the root nature of intelligent life; it was precisely because of it that intelligent life could continuously evolve to be stronger.

Besides, it was just a Worker!

With a sinister smile on his face, Sun Cheng looked deeply at this Worker for a few moments before nodding slightly and ordering, "Go. All the Workers here are under your command. I want to see all the equipment in the base gathered here in the shortest possible time!"

As soon as he finished speaking, he looked over and immediately discovered that the expressions of the few Workers were filled with varying degrees of envy, jealousy, and resentment.

After noting the expression changes of every Worker, Sun Cheng waved his hand, and the squad of Workers immediately went full throttle, running toward the several passages extending from the main hall of the base.

PS:

I rushed to catch Transformers: The Last Knight before it finished its run in Suzhou. Sigh, the plot is a pile of crap, but just watching the spectacle was indeed worth the price of the ticket.

But for nine Hollywood screenwriters to come up with such a mess of a plot, I reckon if you just grabbed nine authors from the sci-fi section of Qidian and had them brush up on the animation settings a little, they wouldn't have come up with this crap-like plot.

Before I started the book, when I saw spoilers mentioning that Onslaught was in Transformers: The Last Knight, I spent a lot of effort designing his plot. I thought that even if he wasn't a boss, he would at least be a major villain, but in the end...

Heh, even if it's shit I chose myself, I have to swallow it through tears.

Selling copies, I have a "fuck your grandpa" to say; this pot you have to carry whether you want to or not.
