Chapter 179: Frenzy
Resting his gaze for a moment on the short Decepticon before him, who was trembling incessantly due to unease, Sun Cheng curled the corners of his mouth and could not help but reveal a smile.
This little fellow was Green Skin, a Newborn Decepticon born from the energy radiation of the AllSpark, and also one of his spoils of war from the Battle of Las Vegas.
Strictly speaking, this guy was merely his test subject.
Ever since capturing Green Skin, he had been kept in secret confinement by Sun Cheng, repeatedly used to research and experiment with some of his own research insights.
This included Spark research, mechanical life intelligence research, body structure research, and so on.
So much so that, after being subjected to his research dozens of times, Green Skin had clearly developed a sense of fear toward him; had Sun Cheng not implanted an absolute control command into his consciousness when he was first captured, this little fellow would likely have run away long ago.
Although a short, stocky Decepticon trembling out of fear of him had a somewhat foolishly cute quality, Sun Cheng would not refrain from acting on him just because of some fondness.
"Come here..." he commanded coldly.
With a wave of his hand, a set of equipment obtained from the raided Base immediately appeared out of thin air within this empty Laboratory.
"Get over here, sit on it..."
He pointed to a spot on the machine, signaling for him to lie down.
Green Skin's intelligence was not high; after being signaled several times, he tilted his head, slowly walked to the equipment, and hesitated for a while before lying down.
Sun Cheng patted him lightly in satisfaction, without saying anything more.
Looking back at the equipment in front of him, with a thought, several metal joints immediately extended from his chest and went straight into a port on the device.
The next moment, energy from the Spark within his body poured continuously into the equipment.
Soon, on this device covered everywhere with strange characters and peculiar patterns, beams of azure light began to shine continuously from those strange characters and patterns.
"Swish!"
Tentacle-like, eerie liquid metal joints continuously extended from the equipment Green Skin was lying on, firmly binding him to the device.
Green Skin stirred uneasily, his mouth emitting low and impatient electronic sounds.
Sun Cheng grew somewhat annoyed; he extended a finger and tapped lightly against his ear, and his Core immediately sent a control message into his Brain.
The next instant, his body stiffened slightly, then quieted down and stopped struggling.
"Did it fail..."
The Core's scan information lingered in Green Skin's Brain for quite a while, and Sun Cheng frowned in disappointment.
During previous tests, he had detected that Green Skin's intelligence was only at the level of a three- or four-year-old human child, with a chaotic and disordered Brain filled with killing, confusion, and various combat emotions.
Logically, the birth methods of the two scout-type Decepticons, Defender and Revenge, were similar to Green Skin's, yet those two possessed self-awareness and intelligence.
Had it not been for Sun Cheng's considerations for his own safety in the real world, he would actually have been reluctant to erase their self-awareness.
Previously, while researching Green Skin, he had permanently stripped a portion of precious information obtained from the AllSpark from his own body and integrated it into Green Skin's body.
Although, for his own sake, the total amount of information he transferred was very small, the same amount had allowed Atlas to begin undergoing some mutations, yet it had failed to bring much change to Green Skin.
After some probing, Sun Cheng soon discovered.
Green Skin had completely digested that information, but there had been no changes whatsoever.
His intelligence remained low, and he had not even formed complete logical thinking; his mind was still left with only combat instincts and chaotic impulses.
"Does he need more information?"
Sun Cheng hesitated for a while, but in the end, he could not make up his mind.
The information obtained from the AllSpark was too precious; the mechanical life forms of Cybertron called it Life Force. It was conceivable that it not only concerned Sun Cheng's own Evolution, but if too much were transferred, it might very well affect his body's lifespan.
Do not think that mechanical life forms are fearless; from the memories of Jazz and Blackout, Sun Cheng had seen some terrifying records. It was said that during the first Cybertronian Civil War, a terrifying disease had occurred that nearly caused the extinction of Cybertron!
Cosmic Rust, a magical virus, specifically targeted various metals. Its pathogenic mechanism was to produce an eerie substance when infecting metal, which could cause the metal to oxidize rapidly.
The Rust Disease would also replicate rapidly within this substance, and this substance could attach to the oxidized metal—that is, rust—and was extremely difficult to detect and clear. The main transmission method of this virus was rust.
A very important reason why the first Cybertronian Civil War had ended so suddenly was the arrival of the Rust Disease.
The leaders of the Decepticons and Autobots, under the threat of the depletion of resources on the planet Cybertron and the continuous spread of this terrifying virus, had no choice but to choose a ceasefire and mutually agree to seal the planet, which led to that slumber that lasted for millions of years on the entire planet Cybertron.
Since there was Cosmic Rust, it was hard to say there wouldn't be other, more terrifying diseases capable of threatening mechanical life forms.
Therefore, unless absolutely necessary, the cautious Sun Cheng would never dare to use his own safety to conduct experiments.
Especially since he himself had begun to realize that Green Skin's needs might be a bottomless pit!
His face underwent a gloomy change, lasting for several minutes before finally returning to indifference.
A spot on the chest of Sun Cheng's body suddenly opened, revealing a tiny space inside.
"Come out, No. 1..."
As soon as his words fell, a tiny insect-type Decepticon Scout immediately jumped out from his body. After landing on the ground, its body squirmed for a moment, turning into a short Humanoid Decepticon only about sixty or seventy centimeters tall.
"Reporting to you, my master..."
A set of shrill, oily electronic sounds came from the mouth of that Decepticon Scout.
Sun Cheng looked down coldly at this Decepticon Scout, whose eyes were darting around incessantly, his gaze somewhat subtle.
This Decepticon Scout was one of the four Insect Scouts that had been accidentally irradiated by the AllSpark because they were placed inside his body.
Defender and Revenge had their consciousnesses erased by him and were taken to the real world, while the other two Decepticon Scouts had always been kept by his side; like Green Skin, they were also Sun Cheng's research subjects.
No. 1 and No. 2 were codes he had taken casually to distinguish the two Decepticon Scouts.
The reason it had caught Sun Cheng's attention was that during the research process, he discovered that this Decepticon Scout's intelligence was shockingly high, far exceeding the other three partners who had been transformed into Decepticons by the AllSpark's radiation in the same batch.
His cold gaze lingered on No. 1 for quite a while before he withdrew it. Sun Cheng grabbed it coldly from the ground and placed it on the equipment.
"Consider yourself lucky, little fellow... Do you see it? Today I am bestowing a great fortune upon you! I grant you the name—Frenzy. From today on, you will welcome a new life, and then fight for me!"
