Chapter 181: Exposure
Sun Cheng lifted his head with difficulty, subconsciously looking toward a spot above.
Although his line of sight was blocked by the rock walls of the Underground Karst Cave, Sun Cheng was very clear that the position he was looking at was the direction of the Moon.
"A veteran from the Ancient Council era is sleeping on the Moon, and he is very likely Megatron's teacher!"
In his mind, the words spoken by Onslaught not long ago suddenly surfaced, and Sun Cheng's heart sank violently.
"……Starscream, that damn Starscream……"
Cursing inwardly, Sun Cheng hurriedly reconnected his consciousness to his Core, taking some effort to control his body to stand up.
Mechanical Life on Cybertron, especially the Decepticons, have a clear internal hierarchy, with superiors possessing near-absolute suppressive power over subordinates.
Even though the legion has never lacked ambitious individuals like Starscream or Onslaught, not a single one has yet succeeded in rebelling against a superior.
And this tradition of the Decepticons was learned precisely from the Ancient Council!
The hierarchy on Cybertron during the Yihui era was strict; the thirteen veterans were not only the most illustrious existences on Cybertron, but it was also rumored that each of them possessed the terrifying power to easily destroy a star, which is why they earned the title of Prime.
Facing the sudden descent of the will of such a terrifying existence, even Sun Cheng suffered a small loss while caught off guard.
If he, with his current strength, was like this, then there was no need to even mention Frenzy and the others.
After standing up, Sun Cheng turned his head to look, only to see Frenzy practically sprawled on the ground, his whole body shivering and trembling non-stop.
"That's enough, get up……"
Unable to help himself, he gave his rear a light kick, Sun Cheng ordered with a gloomy face.
The one on the Moon was not deliberately targeting them, but the impact of this suddenly erupting will on them, the Decepticons, was extremely terrifying.
Sun Cheng made a brief comparison and already had a count in his heart.
"Megatron is not as good as him……"
Just by having a sliver of his will descend to Earth, he could suppress him until he couldn't catch his breath; this strength clearly far exceeded the Decepticon Leader—Megatron.
It wasn't as if Sun Cheng hadn't dealt with Megatron before!
During the Battle of Las Vegas, although Megatron was peerless and suppressed the Autobot Leader Optimus Prime and the others until they couldn't catch their breath single-handedly, his aura had never reached such a suffocating level.
"Damn Starscream……"
He could only curse in a low voice again, Sun Cheng feeling annoyed.
Not long ago, Starscream abandoned the Tucson base and supposedly returned to the Moon; it hadn't been long before such a change occurred on the Moon.
Perhaps, just as Onslaught had guessed, he was playing with fire, and just as they feared most, Starscream had played with fire and gotten burned!
Seeing Frenzy's trembling appearance, he let out a cold snort.
The descent of a Prime's will had an impact on ordinary Decepticons far beyond his imagination; although he was somewhat dissatisfied with Frenzy's performance, he knew himself that this was unavoidable.
Walking up to carefully inspect him and confirming that Frenzy had no issues, only that he hadn't yet walked out of the influence of that Prime's will, he gave a brief instruction and stopped worrying about him.
Just after walking out of the Laboratory, Sun Cheng saw a Worker also kneeling not far away, his whole body shivering.
Frowning, he walked toward Atlas, and upon arriving, he saw him kneeling together in a group with two other Decepticon Workers.
"Ma……Master……"
The sound of footsteps made Atlas react immediately, looking at him with fear and anxiety, "Just now……"
"That's enough, I know……" Sun Cheng waved his hand impatiently, cutting off his words, "Don't take what just happened to heart; that is not something you can come into contact with!"
Just as he was speaking, he suddenly heard a series of heavy footsteps.
He lifted his head to look in the direction the sound came from, and upon looking, he saw two industrial robots that appeared completely unaffected, carrying a large rock that must have weighed three or four hundred kilograms, walking toward the outside of the cave.
"Huh……"
Not expecting the industrial robots to be unaffected, this discovery made the irritation in Sun Cheng's heart ease slightly.
But he quickly realized, "Damn it, why am I being foolish too. They have no intelligence; although they are robots manufactured to mimic human forms, they are ultimately just machines, so how could they be affected……"
Realizing this, he shook his head slightly, gave an instruction to Atlas, and then sent a communication to the Pioneer telling him not to panic, after which Sun Cheng quickly returned to the Laboratory.
If that Prime on the Moon had truly awakened, this matter was no longer something he could meddle in, so rather than worrying, it would be better to spend more effort to make himself stronger before that happens.
……
Staying in Brazil for a full three days, until Atlas and the others finally recovered, and after leaving behind the New Body design scheme that Onslaught had prepared for him for Atlas and the others to review, Sun Cheng left Brazil and returned to Base No. 1.
Soaring at an altitude of nearly twenty thousand meters, as soon as he entered Colorado, Sun Cheng felt a faint sense of unease.
"……Strange, why does it feel like satellite scanning is more frequent than usual……"
Carrying this doubt, he soon returned to Saguache County.
Slowly descending from the sky, Sun Cheng stood still in the wilderness on the outskirts of the county, far from the Nuclear Missile Silo, his brow furrowed.
Looking around with some irritation, ever since entering Saguache County, Sun Cheng had felt a few times as if he were being watched by something.
However, when he noticed the anomaly and tried to use his Core's scanning function to scan in reverse, he could not capture any abnormalities.
"An illusion?"
After deliberately staying on alert for a while at a distance of several dozen kilometers from the Nuclear Missile Silo, and not feeling that anomaly again.
Sun Cheng hesitated for a moment, thinking that he had always been cautious and shouldn't have been targeted by the Autobots so quickly.
After all, when he chose the base, he had specifically picked a remote area far from human habitation, unlike Starscream's base, which was so easy to find.
Relieved for the moment, Sun Cheng still couldn't let go of the team of Decepticon Workers under the Nuclear Missile Silo.
Therefore, after confirming safety, he did not change back to Reaper Drone mode, but instead strode forward with his two legs, rushing through the wilderness.
However, he did not expect.
The very moment he re-entered Colorado, a set of images regarding him was transmitted to a base in the southeast of Nye County, Nevada, not far from Las Vegas.
PS:
I have things to do during the day and can't sleep too late. There is only one update today; I will try my best to get an update out at noon to make up for today's minimum requirement.
