Chapter 251: Megatron's Past
Sun Cheng opened his eyes abruptly, a flicker of shock flashing within them!
Megatron's Memory Data was chaotic and disordered, no different from the Blackout, Jazz, and Mudflap he had absorbed in the past; there was no logic to speak of.
Of course, this might also just be because he had not yet figured out the patterns within, so it required more patience to sort through it bit by bit.
However, what he had not expected was that he had only just begun to read Megatron's memory when he immediately encountered a fragment that filled him with horror.
In the Toxic Mud Swamps of the planet Cybertron, the former Autobot Leader—Sentinel Prime—had once secretly met with the Decepticon Leader—Megatron—at the end of the Second Cybertronian Civil War.
As it turned out, he had actually used intimidation and persuasion to finally convince Megatron.
Thus, the final stage of the Second Civil War occurred, where Sentinel Prime suddenly passed the position of Autobot Leader to Optimus Prime and then mysteriously vanished.
So, the true history was actually this cruel.
Sentinel Prime betrayed the Autobots; he had actually traded the lives of countless Autobots, along with intelligence on the AllSpark and The Fallen, in exchange for cooperation with the Decepticons, or more accurately, with Megatron.
Consequently, Frenzy, Blackout, and the others, who had assumed Sentinel Prime died in an ambush by Megatron, disappeared into the vast universe aboard a spaceship carrying the hope of the Autobots—hundreds of Energy Pillars.
The Decepticons ultimately won the Second Civil War; except for a very small number of tenacious Autobot Warriors, the main force of the Autobots was driven off the main planet of Cybertron and forced to retreat to its moons.
However, what Sun Cheng had not expected was that Megatron had actually taken the bait offered by Sentinel Prime.
After the civil war ended, without even bothering to clear the battlefield, he personally took over a hundred Elite Warriors and, piloting a starship belonging to the Decepticon Legion—the Nemesis—followed the clues left by Sentinel Prime all the way to Earth.
The memory fragment cut off mid-journey, but this unexpectedly accessed memory of Megatron made Sun Cheng suddenly realize the cruelty and sinfulness of the war, while also finally understanding why Blackout, Jazz, and Mudflap feared Megatron so much.
Megatron was a dictator, a Tyrant, and even more so a conspirator who would stop at nothing to achieve victory. The Fallen should indeed be Megatron's teacher as Brawl had said, but I fear the relationship between this master and apprentice was absolutely not as harmonious as Sun Cheng had originally imagined.
Otherwise, Megatron could not have been ultimately persuaded by Sentinel Prime, because one of the agreements in their cooperation was that he demanded Sentinel Prime join forces with him to kill The Fallen!
……
This truth hidden behind history made Sun Cheng's mechanical body shiver uncontrollably, yet he also finally began to feel excited.
This was Megatron's Memory Data, after all; there must be more things inside that could be of infinite use to him.
Right then, he quickly composed himself and continued to read the Memory Data regarding Megatron.
Thus, a massive amount of memories left behind by Megatron in the past lay exposed before him, and Sun Cheng began greedily and freely reading through the glorious life of this former Decepticon Leader.
Finally, after an unknown amount of time, Sun Cheng felt a sudden surge of spirit; he had finally found something hidden in a corner among the countless chaotic memory fragments.
Countless years ago, on the distant planet Cybertron, it was still in the period ruled by the invaders from the planet Quintessa—the Quintessons.
In a place for the natural gestation of Protomorphs controlled by the Quintessons, a Mechanical Life was born, just like the other slaves controlled by the Quintessons. A Quintesson responsible for managing this natural gestation site casually gave him a new name, or rather, a designation—D-16.
Standard Cybertronian Mechanical Life originates from Protomorphs; so-called Protomorphs are strings of partially formed circuits.
After the Quintessons controlled the planet Cybertron, they also took as many of the places where Protomorphs naturally gestated into their own hands as possible.
The Quintesson Scientists soon discovered that if these Protomorphs were left alone, although most of them would easily perish, once they matured in the cruel natural environment, they would develop independent personalities and possess powerful bodies.
And those powerful Mechanical Life forms were proud, unyielding, and did not submit to the management of the Quintessons.
Thus, in order to better control Cybertron.
The Quintesson Scientists created a nutrient solution rich in violent energy. They placed the naturally gestated Protomorphs into cultivation tanks for artificial rearing. This nutrient solution could provide enough energy for the Protomorphs, which would allow them to possess much stronger bodies.
But the violent energy contained in the nutrient solution also deeply polluted the pure essence of the Protomorphs. They became violent and bellicose, thus becoming the best slaves and thugs for the Quintessons.
Although he looked the same as the other Protomorphs, while still in the Quintesson's cultivation tank, D-16 had already displayed something different.
He was stronger and greedier than all the other Protomorphs born in the same batch. In the past, every Protomorph needed several years of cultivation to slowly reach maturity, but D-16 only had less than two years, and as soon as he matured, he appeared far stronger than his other companions.
A Quintesson guard soon discovered his abnormality and reported it to his superiors.
Soon, the gazes of more high-ranking Quintessons began to focus on D-16.
Finally, at the malicious suggestion of a governor, D-16 was sent to the arena. He would engage in bloody combat with those rebels captured by the Quintessons from other colonial planets, and even giant ferocious beasts, to pass the time for the rulers.
D-16 performed with extraordinary tenacity in battle, but even though he gave his all in one fight after another, defeating those terrifying gladiators whose hands were already stained with the blood of Mechanical Life.
His performance did not win the favor of the Quintessons; instead, it brought upon him the most terrifying opponent, a giant monster that was also born on the planet Cybertron and had existed for over a thousand years—a Predacon!
Predacons were a type of giant monster that existed on the planet Cybertron. They were born in the ancient past and possessed bodies and strength far greater than intelligent Mechanical Life.
Countless years ago, although a natural disaster wiped out the vast majority of the terrifying Predacons, even though only a few survived, these Predacons had still hunted countless Protomorphs over the past millions of years.
Just as D-16 was filled with despair, thinking he was about to die, a burly giant wrapped in a black cloak quietly avoided the guards one night and came to the cage where he was being held.
