Chapter 254: Danger is Imminent (Part II)

~8 min read 1,404 words

Sun Cheng nodded. His mind was still somewhat shocked by the fact that Megatron was still alive, so he clearly did not notice the change in Hephaestus's attitude.

However, after glancing around at everyone present, he frowned slightly: "Why are two of your Workers missing?"

Hephaestus did not have many Workers under his command; the total number was only a dozen or so.

Regarding the Workers, Sun Cheng was far from being like other high-ranking Decepticons who only viewed them as the lowliest slaves or even tools.

In his daily life, he also valued them highly. Except for the time during the battle at Base No. 1, when he had ruthlessly abandoned two Workers to escape from Jazz, he had never once scolded, abused, or tortured Hephaestus and the team of Workers under him, and he remembered every single Worker.

Hephaestus hurriedly replied: "... Master, after you left, the next day when we were preparing to return, the humans suddenly notified us that they had agreed to your request and handed over another Typhoon-class ballistic missile nuclear submarine to us... So, without asking for your instructions, I took the liberty of arranging for two Workers to stay behind, and I also asked Lord Pioneer to help pull a few robots to assist them so that they could transform that Typhoon into a qualified cargo submarine according to your requirements as soon as possible..."

His face was somewhat proud: "Master, you don't know. The two Workers I arranged to stay at the Severodvinsk Shipyard directed dozens of industrial robots and only spent one day transforming the two dry docks the humans left for us. If nothing goes wrong, the two Yasen Modified-class attack nuclear submarines in the agreement should have started construction by now. The humans were very shocked by our efficiency. Before I left, that human Prime Minister asked me to convey his apologies to you and at the same time assured me that the second batch of transferred supplies would only be more than agreed, not less..."

Sun Cheng was satisfied in his heart. After nodding slightly, a faint smile finally appeared on his face.

A former Soviet-made Typhoon-class ballistic missile nuclear submarine—although it was somewhat of a waste to use it as a transport submarine after modification, he could not care about that much now.

This Earth was, after all, the domain of humans, and since he had simultaneously offended the United States, the Autobots, and Megatron, it would be no exaggeration to say that the whole world was his enemy.

Therefore, the resources he obtained from trading with China and Russia in the future must be transported through more covert means.

The Typhoon was undoubtedly a very good choice!

This type of strategic nuclear submarine produced in the former Soviet era had an unimaginably huge tonnage. If its combat capabilities were completely sacrificed for a comprehensive cargo modification, the complex combat units and numerous facilities inside could be dismantled to build cargo holds. Theoretically, it had the potential to transport over ten thousand tons of cargo in a single trip.

Of course, the specific data would only be clear after the modification was finished.

But one thing Sun Cheng could be certain of was that the Typhoon had excellent modification potential.

In the future, once the modification was completed, it would surely become the safest transport tool in the world, because apart from Mechanical Life, no one could strike a deep-sea monster prowling a thousand meters below the ocean floor!

"Well done!"

After praising him with satisfaction, Sun Cheng did not intend to stay here any longer.

Megatron had unexpectedly not been destroyed by the AllSpark, and he had even had a large amount of Memory Data read by him; he must hate him to the core.

He was an absolute ruthless character, someone who would stop at nothing to achieve victory.

After reading quite a bit of Megatron's memories, he even began to suspect that ever since Megatron planned to cooperate with Sentinel Prime, he had set a trap for both The Fallen and Sentinel Prime simultaneously.

These suspicions were not without basis!

Because as far as he knew, Megatron's vehicle—the Nemesis—was a large spaceship built during the First Civil War between the Decepticon Legion and the Autobots. It not only possessed terrifying firepower but also had the ability to cross the galaxy.

When Megatron left the planet Cybertron back then, he was riding the Nemesis, and he had also brought a team of soldiers with him.

However, where did this team of soldiers go now?

And where was the Nemesis?

Because Sun Cheng had not read this part in Megatron's sea-like memories, he did not know where those accompanying soldiers and the spaceship had disappeared to.

This point of doubt undoubtedly aroused his vigilance!

If the fact that the Nemesis and Megatron's accompanying soldiers were missing was just a point of doubt...

Then a subsequent discovery made him truly suspicious of Megatron!

That's right, Sun Cheng had accidentally read in Megatron's memories that when he arrived on Earth, he had crashed in the Arctic due to magnetic interference, and when he woke up again, it was many years later. Moreover, the location where Megatron woke up again was actually the United States' secret research base—Sector 7—which he himself had visited several times and even caused a scene in!

This discovery made him feel it was utterly absurd.

Megatron, who was so powerful that he could even fly freely within the Solar System relying on his body, would actually crash due to the planet's magnetic interference, and subsequently be discovered by the Americans and transported back to their country to be studied for many years.

Even more absurdly, after waking up, Megatron did not go on a killing spree in Sector 7, a place that could absolutely be called his dark history, as if this dark history did not exist at all.

No matter how you looked at it, there was something eerie about this!

In the Battle of Las Vegas, the points of doubt displayed by Megatron were also very numerous!

This Warrior, who had once received guidance from The Fallen and had been fighting bloody battles in the arena since the period of the Quintesson colonial rule over Cybertron, and had later experienced two civil wars on Cybertron, had such rich combat experience.

Even Megatron himself admitted that apart from Sentinel Prime, looking at the entire planet Cybertron, no one was his opponent.

Yet, such an experienced Warrior had actually committed an impossible mistake: he exposed his Spark to the human boy Sam, who was holding the AllSpark, and afterwards, when Sam suddenly raised the AllSpark and shoved it into his Spark, Megatron did not react at all!

These mistakes that he absolutely should not have made undoubtedly revealed something eerie.

And he, who should have died, was actually sleeping ten thousand meters deep under the Earth's ocean. If not for Sun Cheng's sudden visit, everyone would probably believe by now that Megatron was dead!

All these things made Sun Cheng smell the scent of a conspiracy.

He knew very well that once Megatron returned, besides the great enemy of the United States and the Autobots, he would also have to face the terrifying behemoth of Megatron and the Decepticon Legion.

The imminent sense of crisis forced him to urge Hephaestus to take him quickly to retrieve the resources transported from Russia this time, preparing to transport them back to Base No. 2.

Building a more powerful New Body for himself was already his top priority now!

PS:

I am having a very difficult time writing this plot, so updates will slow down; it may take a few days to recover.

It is mainly because this book is based on the more widely accepted movie version of the plot. But as everyone knows, the movie plot was changed by Hollywood screenwriters in too many places to connect with the animated version, and some settings simply ignore the official settings entirely.

If you don't consider that brainless timeline, Transformers 1 through 3 actually have some plot to speak of. But 4 and 5 are just a pile of dog shit; apart from the spectacle, the settings and plot have completely collapsed.

As a result, I can only use my own imagination to find a way to connect the plot as much as possible on the basis of the movie version.
