Chapter 401: Intelligence from the Decepticons

~7 min read 1,309 words

After the alloy hard drive that stored his pre-recorded information suddenly lost contact with him, the Pioneer, who was lurking tens of kilometers away from the city of Duluth where Sam and Mikaela were, breathed a sigh of relief.

Previously, the alloy hard drive had been in an activated state, sending him location information once every thirty seconds.

Although this function was not particularly sophisticated—after all, he was not a Decepticon like Atlas who excelled in technology and research—with the current technology on Earth, it might truly be possible for humans to block it, but he still had the confidence that it would take them several hours to crack it.

But this time, the instant positioning function was blocked, and after waiting for more than a minute without receiving any subsequent location information, he had basically confirmed that the hard drive had fallen into the hands of Bumblebee.

That was enough!

"... Do you know, Pioneer... although the level of technology and civilization of the 【Cybertron】 where we and the Autobots are from far exceeds that of the current Earth... the wisdom of these carbon-based lifeforms is equally worthy of respect..."

"They have a kind of wisdom called an 'open conspiracy'... unlike a secret conspiracy formed through deception, threats, and scams, this is a method of digging a pit in a dignified manner, yet making the opponent willing to jump into it even while knowing there is danger..."

"... After our operation in Severodvinsk was exposed, Starscream and the Autobots have been eyeing me, especially the former, who has kept me tightly pinned down in Russia, unable to get away for the time being..."

"In a situation where our strength is insufficient to have a falling out with Starscream, if we want to break this stalemate, we must find something for him to do!"

"... I need you to go to the United States. I will have 'Huan' organize the information on all the informants the Base has developed in the United States later and send it to you... deliver these pieces of intelligence into their hands while avoiding direct contact with the Autobots as much as possible..."

"... Megatron is the only Leader the entire Decepticon Legion believes in. Although he was destroyed by the 【AllSpark】 in the Battle of Las Vegas last year... I believe that both Starscream and Shockwave possess the ability to resurrect him... The Autobots must also have this concern, so it is enough to just make them believe in this even more firmly..."

"The Decepticons are currently searching everywhere on Earth for the 【Matrix of Leadership】, although it is unclear what exactly it is... but once the Autobots want to verify the intelligence we provided, they will inevitably collide with the Decepticons..."

"This is our only chance!"

The things his master had explained to him in detail previously could not help but surface in his mind; the Pioneer touched his head, his thoughts still somewhat muddled.

Since his birth, he had been by Sun Cheng's side, and Sun Cheng, who was always suspicious, had left many control and induction measures in his Core; at the same time, he had also received much care from him, so he was naturally loyal and had always tried his best to learn and imitate Sun Cheng's every move.

"... Through two humans, I delivered the intelligence to Bumblebee... The first task the master gave me should be completed, right..."

After thinking about it, he, who was not very sure about this, had no choice but to shake his head, "Forget it, let's confirm it after the second task is completed!"

After muttering to himself, he immediately activated the Optical Stealth Device on his body, then transformed back into his fighter jet form and flew toward Washington state.

Soon, the Pioneer arrived in Washington D. C.

Washington D. C., the full name being Washington District of Columbia, referred to as Washington, is the capital of the United States.

Named after the first U. S. President George Washington, it is close to Virginia and Maryland; it is located in the northeastern part of the United States, in the Mid-Atlantic region, and is a special administrative district established as the capital in 1790 and directly governed by the U. S. Congress.

Washington is not a highly developed international metropolis like New York, and its population is not even as large as some state capitals in the United States, but no person or force dares to underestimate it.

For no other reason than that this is the decision-making center of the strongest human nation on Earth—the United States.

As soon as he entered Washington, even though he had replaced his New Body and was in a period of high self-confidence, the Pioneer could not help but become cautious.

He had been to Moscow twice before and had already experienced the impregnable defense system of the Polar Bear's capital.

He had thought that Washington would be as loose as it looked and that the defense of the capital circle would be far inferior to Moscow's, but he did not expect that as soon as he entered the border, the Pioneer felt the unique fluctuations of an infrared detection system brush past him, nearly exposing himself.

Over the past half year, with unremitting efforts, Sun Cheng and the others had almost obtained most of the terms of the secret agreements between the Autobots and the U. S. government.

Therefore, the Pioneer also knew that although the U. S. government, in order to appease Congress and some insiders in the country, had publicly announced that it would drive the Autobots to be stationed on Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, there was another clause in the agreement, which was that the Autobots needed to send at least four Autobots to be stationed at a U. S. military base near Washington D. C.

On one hand, they might be acting as hostages; after all, the Americans did not trust the Autobots any more than they trusted the Decepticons.

On the other hand, those old men in the White House and on Capitol Hill who were afraid of death also had the intention of letting them serve as free bodyguards, as the number of Decepticons appearing in various places on Earth had continued to increase since the end of the Battle of Las Vegas.

Due to authorization limits, the intelligence personnel developed by Sun Cheng could not find out who the four Autobots stationed near Washington D. C. were.

But the Pioneer did not want to collide with them and fight a great battle due to a moment of carelessness.

Not to mention his own life or death, if he ruined his master's plan, that would not be good.

"XX degrees XX. XX minutes North Latitude, XX degrees XX. XX minutes West Longitude!"

"Found it!"

Flying cautiously in the air, he constantly retrieved GPS information for calibration.

It took a full half hour before he found the exact location of the coordinates Sun Cheng had given him.

And so, after circling at a low altitude for a while and confirming that the coordinates seemed to mark a huge museum, he quickly transformed back into his combat form and slowly landed in an open space in an outer exhibition area of the museum where various aircraft were parked.

Because it was past five in the afternoon when he arrived in Washington, it was almost the museum's closing time.

When the Pioneer landed, there were very few people left in the museum, but the museum's security personnel had also begun their routine patrols before closing.

They patrolled everywhere in the museum, vigilant against thieves who might have snuck in and tourists who had forgotten the closing time.

To avoid exposing himself, and having discovered the electronic equipment scattered throughout the exhibition area, the Pioneer did not deactivate his optical stealth.

However, he released an All-Terrain Scout and controlled it to look around the museum.
