Chapter 466: vs Soundwave (Part 2)
To be honest, the first meeting with Thunder felt terrible to Scavenger.
A pair of crimson eyes stared fixedly at him, and the other party clearly held considerable hostility toward him.
Yet, from the electromagnetic spectrum radiating from the other party, he could clearly sense that this was an unknown Decepticon Warrior no weaker than Frenzy.
Although Scavenger had managed to fish out quite a few good things from Frenzy over the past few months to perform Enhancement on himself by leaking and selling intelligence regarding his master, Starscream.
If he were truly forced to face Frenzy again, he felt he would only last a few minutes longer than the original two or three minutes.
This was assuming the other party had been holding back; after all, before Frenzy left Severodvinsk, he had often teamed up with Scavenger.
Although he himself had held back, he could still see that Frenzy had not used his full strength either, and the gap between the two of them was still very large.
By extension, it was not difficult for Scavenger to estimate Thunder's approximate strength.
"Where did Frenzy find this helper?"
With confusion in his heart, Scavenger had no intention of investigating secretly. After sizing up Thunder for a few moments, he turned his head to look at Sun Cheng and asked directly: "Lord Frenzy, who is this?"
This is what a Decepticon is: even when evil, they are blatant; even when insidious, they are rarely pretentious.
Of course, with the exception of certain ambitious individuals like him and Starscream.
"His name is Thunder, one of the most excellent Warriors under my command!"
Sun Cheng glanced at Thunder, who was still vigilantly harboring hostility toward Scavenger, and nodded with satisfaction in his heart.
While he was winning Scavenger over, the fact remained that this was a Decepticon; even if he had truly defected to him, he could not help but remain wary of Scavenger.
Thunder performed very well, and he believed he could play the role of the big stick in his hand well.
Scavenger scanned Thunder, who was glaring fiercely at him, with some trepidation, feeling a bit fearful in his heart.
However, on second thought, although he had resented Frenzy for leaving without saying goodbye over the past month, he had also helped cover for him quite a bit, so his confidence suddenly grew. He even dared to bare his teeth slightly at him, revealing a set of ferocious fangs, and sneered: "This subordinate of yours doesn't seem very friendly toward me!"
Sun Cheng smiled slightly. He was too lazy to listen to Scavenger's complaints, so he brushed the topic aside nonchalantly: "You've worked hard during the time I was away. I hope I won't hear any bad news from you!"
This was the second time he had repeated this, and Scavenger was no fool; how could he not understand the meaning behind his words.
However, Sun Cheng's attitude also made him heave a sigh of relief. He glared fiercely at Thunder and replied ungraciously: "I should be the one asking you! You left suddenly without a word, leaving me to clean up your mess!"
Having stayed by his side for so long, he had even learned a bit of his way of speaking.
Seeing that Sun Cheng did not take the bait and was looking at him with calm eyes, Scavenger could not help but feel a bit disappointed; he had wanted to pry into his whereabouts over the past period of time from the other party.
However, he did not dare to play games with Sun Cheng, especially since Soundwave could arrive at any moment.
He paused in his tone and instead reminded him: "I did manage to handle things with the master for you, but I can't help you cover up what you did yourself. Soundwave should be coming soon; you need to be prepared!"
Even as he said this, he could not help but glance at Thunder beside him again.
Frenzy still had such a powerful Warrior under his command, and Scavenger had just recognized Pioneer as well. Now that Pioneer had changed into a New Body, his combat power had soared, clearly surpassing his own. How could this make him feel balanced?
One must know that less than half a year ago, when he first arrived in Severodvinsk, Scavenger's strength at the time was enough to easily crush Pioneer.
But what could he do if he didn't accept it? The fact that Frenzy had two such powerful Warriors under his command made him feel a bit more at ease.
He reckoned that even if Soundwave came knocking, while Frenzy might not be able to beat him, it wouldn't be easy for Soundwave to kill him either.
This was certainly a good thing for him, and it meant he could go back to his old ways, relying on selling out his master Starscream to continue fishing for benefits from Frenzy.
"Soundwave?"
Sun Cheng's eyes narrowed abruptly, and he looked at Scavenger with a ferocious expression, "Are you sure he is coming to Severodvinsk?"
Not long ago, after receiving an emergency notification from the Decepticon Engineer left behind in Severodvinsk, he had hurriedly brought Pioneer and Thunder and rushed over from Base No. 2 located in South America.
Because he was unclear about the situation here, Sun Cheng did not even go down to inspect the hydroelectric station that was said to have been completed when he flew over the Far East.
Scavenger sneered. He was now feeling a bit of schadenfreude and couldn't wait to see the scene when Frenzy and Soundwave met.
So his tone also became gloating, "It was Lord Starscream who told me himself. It won't be long before he arrives!"
Sun Cheng ignored the gloating in his words, but his electronic eyes, which had an excellent field of view, captured Thunder's somewhat angry appearance. He raised his hand slightly to stop him, as he wanted to step forward and teach Scavenger a lesson, while he began to calculate in his heart.
Assuming everything Starscream said was true, then although he did not know when Starscream had contacted Scavenger, he reckoned the time should not be too far from when the Engineer he left in Severodvinsk notified him urgently.
With the few of them flying at full speed, the entire journey was at a speed exceeding 1.5 times the speed of sound, and that was still to accommodate Thunder.
The New Body used by Thunder was an early generation model designed for him by the Decepticon Engineers. The weapon system equipped inside his body was complex and bulky. In a sense, the destructive power he could erupt with in a short time was even greater than Sun Cheng's New Body, but the shortcomings were equally obvious.
Even though the Engineers later added a set of energy supply systems specifically for the weapon system inside his body, it still could not keep up with his consumption.
This resulted in Thunder's speed being unable to meet Sun Cheng's requirements. Such a bulky big guy did not fit his aesthetic of violence, which was also the reason why the initial design model of the New Body was abandoned by him.
Both Sun Cheng and Pioneer had Auxiliary Power Systems installed, making them much faster than the bulky big guy Thunder.
However, even to accommodate him, the three Decepticons did not delay for a single minute on the journey from Base No. 2 to Severodvinsk.
Now that they had all arrived, and Soundwave had not yet arrived, it was easy to explain.
Sun Cheng looked up at the sky, then immediately withdrew his gaze.
Soundwave should have been staying at that Decepticon Base located on the Moon. Calculating the distance between the Moon and Earth, he should be arriving soon, having departed earlier than him.
Just as this thought popped up, suddenly, he and Thunder looked up in unison toward the direction where the Moon was currently located, southeast by south.
Just now, a terrifying existence that made them both feel danger appeared. The other party did not hide his powerful electromagnetic spectrum at all and was flying toward Severodvinsk at a terrifying speed dozens of times the speed of sound.
Soundwave is here!
