Chapter 580
"The history of Earthlings is a history of war."
Arcee looked at the ruins before her and could not help but sigh.
They were currently located within Egypt, at the ancient thousand-year-old city of Abu Simbel on the east bank of the southern Nile River.
Historically, this place belonged to Upper Egypt, a location where the glorious Egyptian civilization once left a significant mark.
Because of this, although one cannot say that ruins from the ancient Egyptian period are everywhere in Upper Egypt, in a thousand-year-old city like Luxor, there are truly a great many ruins and remains left behind from thousands of years ago.
For example, the ruins where they were currently taking shelter, while far inferior to the Abu Simbel Temple, were the ruins of a temple built during the First Dynasty of Egypt.
After arriving on Earth, Arcee became very interested in Earth culture and Earthlings.
Just a moment ago, while bored, she inspected the ruins and discovered traces of blade and axe strikes as well as fire damage in many places, thereby confirming that these ruins were likely destroyed by the flames of war in the past.
Optimus Prime was not there; to be precise, he was not outside the ruins.
Currently staying behind a wall that was still relatively intact outside the ruins were only Arcee and Sam's girlfriend, Mikaela.
"Arcee, do you think they will be in danger?"
Mikaela was not as melancholic or sentimental as Arcee; she was currently worried about her boyfriend, Sam.
Not long ago, in order to avoid a sudden sandstorm, they had temporarily come to these ruins to take shelter.
Who would have known that Bumblebee would accidentally discover an Elder Script among the broken eaves and walls of the temple ruins, and so, Optimus Prime took several Autobots, along with Sam who had joined the resources, to continue investigating along the clues of the Elder Script that had been discovered.
"Don't worry, Mikaela!"
Having spent so many days together, Arcee had long since become familiar with Mikaela and the others, and she smiled and nodded, "What Optimus Prime and the others found should just be a tomb!"
As the Autobots stayed on Earth longer, the information they collected became more and more abundant.
Now, except for some Autobots who had just arrived on Earth and were still unaware, many Autobots who had arrived here earlier knew that Earth had been visited by Cybertronians a very long time ago.
According to some ancient murals currently on Earth, one can deduce the earliest contact between the planet Cybertron and Earth.
Optimus Prime and the others even suspected that this time might need to be pushed back to the Council of Ancients period millions of years ago.
The Fallen, suspected to be Megatronus, along with the other six Primes, should have been the first batch of Cybertronians to arrive on Earth.
However, because that time was too far removed from the birth of Earth's civilization and precise calculation methods, the specific time could not be calculated at all.
Even so, it is an indisputable fact that after that, ancient Cybertronians who were Pathfinders continuously visited Earth.
What Optimus Prime and the others discovered at these temple ruins is suspected to be the tomb of an Ancient Pathfinder.
Although Cybertronians possess long lives far exceeding those of humans, they are not immortal beings.
Energy is their blood and source of life; without a continuous supply of energy to replenish the consumption of their Spark, the bodies of Cybertronians will also decay and rust, until finally they completely rust into a pile of useless metal scraps and return to the earth.
Therefore, discovering the remains of Cybertronians from the early ages on Earth is actually not something worth being surprised about.
Arcee and Mikaela chatted idly, and soon the roar of a vehicle came from not far away.
The alert Arcee signaled for Mikaela to hide well, and only after jumping out and taking a look did she retract her weapon.
It was Optimus Prime and the others; the short exploratory journey had ended, and they had returned.
"Did you find anything?"
Seeing that everyone was unharmed, Arcee asked Optimus Prime.
"Just as it said in that Elder Script, this is a tomb!"
Optimus Prime sighed; this Nameless Temple was built by humans enslaved in the name of a deity by a Pathfinder in his early years when his life was about to reach its end.
They had just seen the completely decayed remains of that Ancient Pathfinder deep underground in the temple.
This Pathfinder, named Steam Engine, came from the Decepticons; although Optimus Prime and the others did not know him, the other party should have been an Ancient Pathfinder who existed during the Council of Ancients period.
During the Council of Ancients period, the planet Cybertron entered the peak of its most glorious civilization.
At that time, in order to satisfy the needs of the nobility and the development of industry and technology, and also to find the whereabouts of the missing Matrix of Leadership, the Council of Ancients dispatched countless Pathfinders into the universe.
They had visited almost every planet in the galaxy, and a considerable portion had even long since left the galaxy and gone to even more distant star systems.
In the journey of constantly exploring resource planets and searching for the Matrix of Leadership, death was inevitable.
Coupled with the later civil war and the Cosmic Rust, the vast majority of Ancient Pathfinders ultimately failed to return to their homeland.
Naturally, these Ancient Pathfinders, whether they were from the Autobots or the Decepticons, did not have such distinct racial concepts as the current Autobots and Decepticons.
For example, the tomb of Steam Engine that Optimus Prime and the others had just visited—although he had once enslaved humans to build this grand temple and underground tomb for himself—
he had also, within the tomb, used a storage disk capable of being preserved for a very long time to save all the data on resource planets and star charts he had visited in the galaxy over the long years, as well as some of his own observations and discoveries on Earth in the past.
Among these, there was information that was very useful to Optimus Prime.
"Everyone, get some good rest; our journey ahead may not be so comfortable!"
His gaze could not help but look toward the northwest, the location of a Nameless Pyramid.
There is a very ancient pyramid within Egypt; Steam Engine arrived on Earth tens of thousands of years ago, and at that time, there were several other Ancient Pathfinders who arrived here with him.
They were chasing some clues regarding the Matrix of Leadership and investigated on Earth for many years.
Within Egypt, they discovered an incomparably majestic pyramid.
The locals called it the Tomb of the Gods, and it was said that a god was sleeping inside.
Back then, Steam Engine and the others had once explored the pyramid, and after discovering nothing unusual, they did not destroy it for research, adhering to the principle of not destroying things created by other civilizations.
Optimus Prime had once carefully studied human civilization on Earth and its history; although there are a large number of historical and cultural gaps on Earth, generally speaking, they can all be traced back to their origins.
If that Nameless Pyramid truly existed tens of thousands of years ago as Steam Engine said,
then the pyramids that have appeared in Egypt now are very likely all influenced by it, and were built in imitation by the later ancient Egyptian civilization and their rulers.
The information left behind by Steam Engine also included the coordinates of that pyramid.
As it happens, it is within the range of Decepticon activity areas that Frenzy once provided to the Autobots.
This discovery made Optimus Prime feel it was necessary to go and take a look in person.
