Chapter 591: Hailishi (Part II)
The Project 22350 frigate is the first type of major surface combatant manufactured by the Russians after the end of the Cold War.
This is a medium-sized anti-aircraft missile frigate with a displacement of approximately 4,500 tons, and it can be considered the Russian Navy's first attempt at modernization.
It is a classic example of a small ship carrying big guns; not only does it have a shield (automated combat command system), but the firepower it is equipped with is enough to make the 6,000-ton warships of many traditional European naval powers blush with shame.
Sun Cheng's Decepticon Engineer and naval expert, Hephaestus, began a comprehensive modification of the 22350 after obtaining its detailed specifications, utilizing Cybertron Technology and Decepticon techniques.
The combat and power systems from the original Russian design, which required a massive amount of space, were replaced by a Decepticon Core only slightly larger than an adult's fist, along with an Auxiliary Power System that was lightweight and occupied less than one-twentieth of the original space.
However, to ensure this big guy would have abundant power in the future, it also needed an artificial Spark to provide a continuous supply of energy.
Although the exterior of this big guy after Hephaestus's modifications still looked much like it did in the past, its interior had undergone earth-shaking changes.
The modified 22350 frigate's bow main gun remains a 130mm single-barrel naval gun, but after technical upgrades, its experimental rate of fire reaches 52 rounds/minute, and the range of normal shells exceeds 48 kilometers; if firing new extended-range guided shells, the range can reach up to 180 kilometers, which is almost on par with missiles.
Because the massive bridge was downsized after technical modifications, and the missiles and vertical launch systems were also revamped, the frigate has 32 vertical missile launch cells each at the front and rear, with the magazine capable of storing over four hundred and sixty medium-to-short-range anti-aircraft and anti-ship missiles specially made by Base No. 2.
Sun Cheng is a practitioner of the "firepower supremacy" philosophy; under his requirements, Hephaestus modified this ship, which did not look particularly large, into an Arsenal Ship.
Of course, there are pros and cons.
Initially, Sun Cheng had not considered turning this high-firepower frigate into a Decepticon at all, so although the materials used for the hull were all upgraded special steel and other alloys, they only reached the level of a Normal Mode Decepticon and were very fragile.
"After this battle ends, I will help you perform a full-body upgrade... but for now, I need you to wake up immediately and fight for me..."
With a thought, a micro-Decepticon crawled out from his open chest.
With Sun Cheng's current chassis, it was impossible for him to enter the cabin of the frigate before him.
"Go, place the fragment onto its Spark!"
After receiving his order, the micro-Decepticon nodded, clamped the fragment with its two slender metal legs, and quickly climbed onto the ship, running toward the cabin.
The artificial Spark and Core had already been installed on the ship just moments ago; now, all that was needed was to place this fragment at its Spark to activate it, while simultaneously releasing a massive data stream to forcibly transform the frigate into a Decepticon.
One AllSpark Fragment should be enough to transform this frigate; Sun Cheng had studied it in detail—if he were willing to spare a fragment, he could even pull an elder Decepticon on the verge of death, like Jetfire, back from the brink.
After the internal modifications by his Decepticon Engineers, this frigate already possessed some of the characteristics of a Decepticon in terms of its body.
To this day, when Base No. 2 cultivates Newborn Decepticons, they first manufacture a body for them, then use specific machinery to stimulate the special energy within an AllSpark Fragment to radiate the pre-prepared chassis; there is a certain probability that the chassis can be awakened, but the success rate is not high.
The principle for awakening this warship this time was the same, only Sun Cheng chose a whole fragment to be safe.
Moreover, this was an AllSpark Fragment that had been soaked in Energy Liquid for a long time and should have replenished its energy.
The micro-Decepticon clamped the AllSpark Fragment and rushed quickly into the cabin.
It had information about some of the equipment inside the cabin in its brain, so it easily found the location of the Spark.
The fragment, which was continuously releasing azure electric arcs, was modifying its body along the way, making its chassis stronger and larger.
Although it was reluctant to let go of the fragment, because of Sun Cheng's order, it still placed the fragment, which was still releasing azure electric arcs, gently onto the huge, circular artificial Spark that had a radius of about one meter, without any hesitation.
The next moment, the azure electric arcs on the fragment seemed to have been stimulated by something, releasing even more violent arcs that radiated continuously toward the surroundings.
The first thing affected was the huge circular artificial Spark upon which it was placed.
The shell of unknown metal began to bloom with specks of blue light.
The blue light spread at an extremely fast speed, and soon, like a burning fireball, it ignited the entire artificial Spark.
After the Spark ignited, the fragment was completely dissolved into the Spark.
Immediately following, accompanied by the violent beating sound of the Spark, which sounded like a heart, blue veins resembling blood vessels spread outward from the Spark, quickly staining the cabin where the Spark was housed, and then the metal plates inside the cabin also began to squirm wildly.
The micro-Decepticon was startled and hurriedly fled the cabin, running outside.
This journey felt like fleeing on a ship tossing in a tsunami.
This huge, unnamed frigate placed in the dry dock began to tremble violently, its entire body filled with increasingly intense azure electric arcs—arms, legs, torso, and even its head.
A huge, burly mechanical Warrior was gradually taking shape amidst roars that were unclear whether they were of pain or pleasure.
"Quick, open the roof!"
The huge Decepticon taking shape was likely at least twenty or thirty meters tall.
Even Sun Cheng appeared insignificant in front of him.
When he was first in the dry dock, he didn't feel that he was very tall.
But as the modification by the AllSpark Fragment gradually neared its end, the burly, huge Decepticon Warrior also struggled to climb up from the dry dock while transforming.
Consequently, Sun Cheng had to order the Decepticon Workers in the dock to hurry and open the roof.
Fortunately, this indoor dock was originally converted from a Russian open-air dock, and the roof above was added later; it could be retracted and lowered, which was convenient.
However, the Workers were still a bit slow; as the huge Decepticon's chassis finally finished its transformation, he hammered his chest a few times like an ape, then roared toward the sky: "Hailishi... Hailishi..."
His constantly waving arms easily flipped away the roof that was in the process of opening, allowing him to no longer be restricted by the height of the dock.
Sun Cheng watched the huge Decepticon roaring like a beast quietly, but the corners of his mouth curved into an arc.
"The Core is influencing him; the control method is effective!"
Hailishi was the name Sun Cheng had chosen in advance for the huge Decepticon that this frigate transformed into.
PS:
I checked the backend for May's royalties; including tips, it's less than five hundred yuan, and there are only a few dozen subscriptions per chapter, most of which are likely from pirate websites stealing the content.
Although I am not writing this book full-time, this amount of royalties certainly doesn't give one the motivation to finish it.
I don't expect tips, but please come to 【Qidian】 to provide some subscription support for the genuine version.
I guarantee over 120,000 words of updates this month, with a goal of 150,000 words, increasing it bit by bit.
Please smoke one less pack of the cheapest five-yuan cigarettes, or drink two fewer bottles of carbonated drinks; that would be enough to finish reading over a hundred thousand words of updates.
