Chapter 594: The Final Battle Begins

~7 min read 1,274 words

The Jordanian authorities recently sensed something was wrong.

Fighting suddenly broke out in a mountainous area within their borders, and the explosions led residents of a nearby village to call the police.

It was several hours after receiving the call that the police sluggishly dispatched a few officers to investigate.

However, they soon discovered with horror that the explosion site was littered with the bodies of soldiers.

Judging by their attire and weapons, the ones wiped out within Jordan were actually a fully armed team of United States soldiers.

This discovery truly terrified the authorities; as a small West Asian nation, Jordan had participated in multiple Middle East wars decades ago, long ago squandering the wealth they once possessed.

Therefore, although the authorities have mostly acted in concert with their traditional Middle East allies in recent years, most of the time they only offer condemnations.

This shift in attitude gained the approval of Israel and the United States, and in recent years, investment from Israel and the United States has flowed continuously into this country, which lacks significant oil and gas resources and suffers from severe water shortages.

That is why the authorities were so terrified; once the United States, accustomed to being overbearing, determined they were causing trouble, the consequences would be severe.

The best-case scenario would be being extorted by the other side.

After the local police station reported the discovery, the capital, Amman, was shocked and terrified, but in the end, they dared not conceal it and quickly dispatched a national security official to relay the matter to the highest-ranking person in charge of the United States military stationed in Jordan.

To Amman's surprise and relief, the United States military seemed to already know about it; instead, they comforted them and warned them not to continue the investigation.

Shortly thereafter, the main force of the Fifth Fleet, originally stationed in Bahrain, set out in full, sailing from the Persian Gulf toward the Red Sea region.

At the same time, without notifying Amman, a batch of fully armed United States soldiers originally stationed at United States military bases in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar were also rapidly transferred to the United States military base in Jordan.

The thick smoke of war seemed to have suddenly shrouded the skies over Jordan.

Meanwhile, the Autobots were also gathering.

Although Bumblebee raised a few points of suspicion, such as how Major William would have Mikaela's phone number.

However, Optimus Prime and the others had already come to trust Major William and Captain Robert during their brief cooperation with NEST.

"Bumblebee, the United States government is hunting Sam globally. As long as they investigate seriously, they will soon discover that Mikaela also disappeared with Sam... It is not difficult for William to find her phone number..."

Ironhide had become much more silent; the death of Skids hit him no less hard than the passing of Jazz.

After all, for the past year or so, he had always been operating with Skids and the others.

"Leader, according to your orders, we have assembled over thirty Warriors..."

After a long while, noticing Optimus Prime looking at him, Ironhide finally spoke.

There were indeed many Autobots who had come to Earth, but unlike the Decepticons, most of the civilians had very poor combat capabilities.

Unlike the Decepticons, who had no civilians to speak of, only armies and slave labor—the latter being the numerous Decepticon Workers.

"Has Prowl returned?"

Optimus Prime asked Ironhide again; he did not pursue the matter of Ironhide privately establishing a base on Earth.

In a sense, Optimus Prime had actually had this idea for a long time; the beautiful Earth was far more beautiful than the planet Cybertron, which had long been on the verge of death.

After the Battle of Las Vegas ended, during his first contact with the United States government, he had proposed the idea of the United States setting aside a piece of land on Earth for the Autobots to establish a sanctuary.

To this end, Optimus Prime even made the decision that they could transfer a limited amount of technology to them.

It was a pity that he had underestimated the reaction of the Americans.

Perhaps in the eyes of that superpower, accustomed to being overbearing, the entire Earth was their sphere of influence.

So back then, the United States government took a very firm stance, bringing up the phrase "Earth belongs only to Earthlings," completely blocking Optimus Prime's idea of establishing a sanctuary on Earth.

As the Leader of the Autobots, there were many things Optimus Prime knew would be beneficial to the Autobots, but because of "political correctness," coupled with his own moral values, he could neither do them nor think about them.

Therefore, Ironhide's sudden decision to occupy land in Africa to establish a base, although it forced Optimus Prime to face questioning from the Autobot Council afterward, was a great act of kindness for many Autobots who had to wander the galaxy after the failure of the civil war.

They had a home once again.

Prowl had been sent ahead to scout the coordinates after Optimus Prime and the others received the text message from Major William.

He was one of the Autobots' most excellent intelligence experts; with Bumblebee needing to protect Sam and his girlfriend and unable to leave, it was most appropriate to have Prowl conduct the investigation.

Ironhide shook his head: "Prowl is still within Jordan. The last time he sent back intelligence was yesterday, and there has been no word since..."

Optimus Prime pondered for a moment before slowly saying: "Prowl can protect himself. Since he hasn't sent back any news, it means the situation there hasn't completely collapsed yet!"

As the former Intelligence Chief of the Autobots, even though his strength was much lower than in the past after dying once and being Awakened, no Decepticon dared to underestimate Prowl.

In the past, Soundwave had once set a trap, wanting to kill Prowl, whose strength had been greatly reduced after being Awakened; the layout was not lacking in caution.

Yet at the most critical moment, Prowl relied on his rich experience to sense something was wrong and managed to escape safely from Soundwave's scheme.

This was the source of Optimus Prime's confidence in him!

Ironhide nodded; he also had confidence in Prowl.

The Triple Changer—Drift, had a somewhat impatient temperament; he was present when Prowl sent back the last piece of intelligence yesterday, so he asked: "Leader, Prowl sent a message yesterday that he discovered a team of United States soldiers had been attacked by Decepticons and wiped out. According to his investigation, there are more and more Decepticons in Jordan, and he even discovered traces of Starscream... Should we urge the Aerialbots again... According to the original plan, the Aerialbots will arrive on Earth with the next batch of supplies in five days..."

Optimus Prime was somewhat moved upon hearing this, and while he was thinking, he suddenly received a remote communication; his expression changed drastically after quickly reading it.

"It's already too late!"

His face was filled with seriousness as he looked solemnly at the gathered Autobots and said in a deep voice: "Prowl just sent intelligence that the Decepticons have already begun to assemble. Some Decepticons he had seen in Egypt have appeared within Jordan. They are very likely going to make a move for the 【Matrix of Leadership】!"

Now, whether the location of the coordinates sent by Major William actually contains the 【Matrix of Leadership】 is no longer important.

What is important is that the Decepticons are gathering there, so the Autobots also need to take action.
