Chapter 627: Arms Dealer—Swindle (Please Subscribe)
"Swindle? You are the arms dealer—Swindle?"
Sun Cheng suddenly raised his head to look at Scrapper; because of the violent shaking of his body, the Medical Spider that was treating the wound on his chest was almost shaken off.
Scrapper, oh no, he should be called Swindle now.
Swindle nodded, "I am Swindle!"
There was a hint of pride on Swindle's face; in the past, within the Decepticon Legion and even on the planet Cybertron, he was considered a somewhat well-known figure.
"It's actually Swindle!"
Sun Cheng had guessed countless possibilities; after all, in the cruel Cybertronian Civil War that lasted for millions of years, the number of fallen Decepticons and dead Autobots was so high that no one could remember them all clearly.
During the First Civil War, the Decepticon Legion began to resurrect dead Decepticons, letting them fight for the Decepticon Legion once again.
However, most of those who could be resurrected were very powerful warriors.
And Swindle was an exception; if Frenzy's previous memories were correct, then he was resurrected entirely because Megatron wanted to torture him.
At this point, Sun Cheng finally understood why Swindle showed hatred in his eyes toward Starscream.
Let's introduce Swindle first; he could also be considered a veteran Decepticon.
During the era of the Council of Ancients, this guy was an arms dealer lurking in the Black Market. By relying on certain methods and connections, he could continuously obtain weapons and munitions from nobles and even the military, and then sell them at high prices to targets who needed them.
Because of this ability, when the Decepticon Legion was founded, Swindle was personally invited to join the Decepticons to serve as a logistics officer.
And he truly did not live up to this trust; during the most chaotic period, Swindle always had many channels to obtain the weapons the Decepticon Legion needed, even though the prices were more expensive than the Black Market, and he was also discovered multiple times selling Decepticon weapons to the Autobots.
As scientists like Shockwave and Starscream joined the Decepticon camp, Swindle's status gradually declined.
By the time the First Civil War of Cybertron broke out, he had already been squeezed out of the core circle of the Decepticon Legion.
Coincidentally at this time, Onslaught, as a veteran Commander of the Decepticon Legion, was also actively expanding his own forces.
With himself as the core, Onslaught assembled a renowned Combaticons team, with himself serving as Commander, and the members also included Brawl, Blast Off, and Vortex.
Although Swindle's combat power was not high, as an arms expert, he was proficient in various weapons, so he also received an invitation from Onslaught and became the fifth member of the Combaticons.
Afterwards, the story regarding Swindle was simply a history of the internal struggles of the Decepticon Legion.
Because his combat power was not high, Swindle had a very uncomfortable time within the Combaticons.
His teammates disdained his combat power and often used him as a punching bag.
This change in status made Swindle harbor a belly full of anger.
He tried to prove to everyone that Megatron's philosophy of "might makes right" was wrong, but everyone treated him as an outlier, until he met the conspirator—Starscream.
Like Swindle, Starscream was also one of the veterans who joined the Decepticon Legion earliest.
As a Scientist, his status within the Decepticon Legion climbed steadily with the new technologies and new weapons he continuously developed.
In this process, Starscream did not, like Swindle, blindly indulge in arms trading.
Every time he developed the latest technology and weapons, as long as their stability was proven on an unlucky test subject, he would apply them to his own body without hesitation.
Over time, Starscream gradually went from being a Scientist to a powerful figure in the Decepticon Legion, his status once second only to Megatron, and even higher than the low-key Shockwave.
Like Swindle, Megatron's view that might is supreme, as well as his methods of ruling the Decepticon Legion with cruelty and tyranny, also aroused the resentment of Starscream, who came from a background as a Scientist.
He once visited the Combaticons' Commander—Onslaught, hoping to gain his support to overthrow Megatron together.
However, Onslaught did not express his stance on this, but Starscream unexpectedly gained Swindle's support.
This cunning and hypocritical guy clearly had much less depth than the calculating Starscream.
Under Starscream's secret funding, Swindle quickly became one of the main voices within the Decepticon Legion opposing Megatron and his faction, and even tried to plot an assassination attempt against Megatron.
The assassination attempt naturally failed before it even began, and the key figure who caused its failure was none other than the Commander of the Cassette Corps—Soundwave.
Under his leadership, the Cassette Corps quickly became the most important intelligence organization of the Decepticon Legion, bar none.
And as Megatron's die-hard confidant and an important member of the Megatron faction, Soundwave, after discovering the operation where Swindle and the others attempted to assassinate the leader, immediately dispatched his four subordinates—Rumble, Laserbeak, Ravage, and Frenzy—to arrest Swindle.
Megatron was furious upon learning this news and immediately ordered all Decepticons involved in Swindle's assassination attempt to be arrested and their bodies dismantled; he did not kill them, but instead imprisoned them in the political prison of Skull Fortress to torture them.
The cunning Starscream, as expected, escaped this purge operation.
For a long time, he did not pay any attention to whether Swindle lived or died.
It was not until the First Cybertronian Civil War, when the main force of the Decepticon Legion was locked in a fierce battle on the front lines with Sentinel Prime's army.
Sensing that the time for rebellion was ripe, Starscream immediately sent people to capture the political prison at Skull Fortress, rescuing Swindle and the others who had been imprisoned there and whose personalities had been completely changed by torture.
He manufactured New Body for Swindle and the others in exchange for their agreement to join Starscream's rebel legion.
A civil war broke out, but it was quickly suppressed by Shockwave in league with Soundwave.
After the war, because he still needed Starscream's technology, Megatron "mercifully" pardoned him.
But as for traitors like Swindle who dared to rebel a second time, there is no need to mention their fate.
They were sent to Shockwave's Laboratory, and after undergoing memory tampering, even their thinking was set to be warriors completely loyal to Megatron, and they subsequently participated in many battles as the main force of the Decepticon Legion.
Not until everyone had forgotten these lowly replica warriors who had died who knows how many generations ago, did Shockwave, who was obsessed with researching Triple Changer and Combiner, transfer the manufacturing of the vast majority of replica warriors to Starscream.
And thus came the later Scrapper, and the current Swindle!
