Chapter 689: New World Explorer (Part 1) Seeking Subscriptions
After receiving the order, the Workers quickly controlled hundreds of dredging robots to withdraw from the lake bottom.
Once only Sun Cheng and Chongci remained, he gave an instruction: "I am going in to take a look; the Smart Brain of this spaceship should not be broken yet. You help me keep watch!"
"Yes, Master!"
Turning to face the spaceship in front of him, Sun Cheng extended his right hand, his five fingers transformed for a moment, and soon condensed into a stream of azure jet flames.
He aimed it at the spaceship's hull in front of him, and the crackling sound of cutting soon rang out on the lake bottom, appearing exceptionally eerie.
"It is fortunate that the spaceship has been crashed for too long; otherwise, breaking through its outer shell would truly not be an easy task!"
It took Sun Cheng more than two hours to cut a gap in the several-meter-thick hull that was large enough for him to enter and exit.
"You move back a bit!"
He instructed Chongci to retreat a little further, then immediately placed his palm on the piece of hull that had been cut off, stored it into the Spherical Space, and prepared to take it back to Base No. 2 to let his Decepticon Engineers analyze its composition properly.
The moment the section of the hull that had been cut off disappeared, a terrifying suction force suddenly emanated from inside the spaceship.
Sun Cheng's body staggered, and he was violently rushed into the spaceship by the lake water pouring in from behind. His entire body was tossed up and down, and he bumped into the interior cabins of the spaceship more than a dozen times before he finally managed to control his body.
Two beams of azure light shot out from his eyes, probing and searching within the cabin filled with turbid, muddy water.
The section of the hull that Sun Cheng had cut was located at the rear of the spaceship, very close to the engine room where the engines were installed.
He was not sure if the engines of this spaceship were broken, so he prepared to go over and investigate.
Swimming forward slowly through the cabin filled with turbid, muddy water and silt, Sun Cheng searched as he moved.
From time to time, strange-looking aquatic creatures swam past him; they looked like long snakes or electric eels, and some were flat all over but possessed a mouth of ferocious fangs.
Seemingly attracted by the light beams shot from Sun Cheng's eyes, some very disgusting and ferocious aquatic creatures appeared abruptly before his eyes from time to time, and some even circled his head and attempted to launch attacks.
Even though he did not have any deep-sea phobia and knew that these aquatic creatures could not hurt him, he still felt a chill down his spine from these bizarre creatures that had suddenly darted out from nowhere.
Having no choice but to release electromagnetic waves that made these creatures very uncomfortable to forcibly drive them away from his surroundings, Sun Cheng felt slightly more comfortable.
The cabin of this Cybertronian Spaceship was very large; he started searching from the place where he had broken in and spent a full ten minutes slowly groping his way to the engine room.
Because the door to the engine room was wide open, it was also filled with sewage and silt.
Seeing this scene, Sun Cheng's heart had already gone cold for the most part, and he no longer held any hope of having any gains.
Sure enough, after he circled the large engine room, apart from collecting some data on the appearance and structure of the engines, there were no further gains.
The engine room was some distance away from the Warehouse, with two closed cabins in between.
Sun Cheng took some steel plates out of the Spherical Space, his right hand transformed into a welding gun again, artificially created an isolation zone, and then entered it.
One of the cabins seemed to be a utility room, containing quite a few things he could not understand; the other, larger one, seemed to be the Pathfinder's collection room, which was filled with various specially made metal canisters.
Sun Cheng opened one of them to take a look and discovered it was a special metal not on the periodic table; if nothing went wrong, it should have been found by that Pathfinder while exploring in the universe.
After putting everything from the utility room and the collection room into the Spherical Space, he continued his search.
Most of the cabins inside the spaceship had flooded and had been soaked for at least several thousand years, so many things had been completely damaged.
Searching all the way to the front of the Warehouse on the spaceship, Sun Cheng's Spherical Space only had a few more unknown trinkets added to it.
Swimming over and just as he approached, seeing the wall of the Warehouse twisted into a jagged opening, he knew there might not be any gains.
Sure enough, when Sun Cheng swam into the Warehouse and looked, a large amount of metal had rusted firmly together with the cabin due to water corrosion.
After circling around a little, he only took some metals that did not exist on Earth before leaving the Warehouse.
The Central Main Control Intelligence was located in the cockpit at the front of the spaceship, which was the second most important place on the ship after the Warehouse and the lounge.
Sun Cheng did not plan to go to the lounge, nor was it necessary.
Because the huge gap that had been pierced through on this spaceship was located near the lounge, which was also the place where lake water erosion and silt accumulation were the most severe; he should not be able to find anything still usable there.
The further he went toward the front of the spaceship, the more Sun Cheng found cabins that were completely soaked in water or even filled with silt.
So much so that it took him more than ten hours to finally arrive at the front of the spaceship, outside the cockpit where the Central Main Control Intelligence was housed.
Near the cockpit, the sealing was significantly better than in other parts of the ship.
After using steel plates to weld and block the turbid lake water from behind within the cabin again, Sun Cheng broke through a layer of wall and entered a passage outside the cockpit.
This was a relatively dry passage; except for the areas wetted by the lake water that seeped in when he broke through the wall, the rest of the places were almost completely dry.
Seeing this scene, Sun Cheng's mood improved a little.
The difference between the Normal Mode text used by Cybertronians during the Council of Ancients era and the common text of modern Cybertron was not too great, as they were, after all, in a relationship of mutual inheritance.
Following the guidance to the entrance of the cockpit, Sun Cheng was just about to break in when he suddenly looked at the conspicuous keyhole on the huge alloy door at the entrance of the cockpit, and he narrowed his eyes slightly.
After thinking for a moment, Sun Cheng gripped the empty air with his right hand, and a round metal ball immediately appeared in his palm.
This metal ball was exactly the one he had found half a year ago while exploring the Pathfinder's underground mausoleum located near the ruins of Tiwanaku City.
It was the Awakener for the Central Main Control Intelligence on this spaceship, and it was also a key; it could not only wake up the Smart Brain on the spaceship but also open the door to the cockpit for him.
After playing with the round metal ball for a moment, Sun Cheng inserted it into the conspicuous keyhole on the cockpit door.
It was truly magical; the moment he inserted the round metal ball into the keyhole, various horizontal and vertical patterns immediately appeared on the metal ball.
Subsequently, similar patterns also appeared on the cockpit door; when the two types of patterns aligned, the alloy door made a "pop" sound and retracted into the walls on both sides.
Just as Sun Cheng was about to take the round metal ball that was eerily suspended in mid-air, at that moment, the metal ball seemed to have received some kind of summons and was pulled by an astonishing suction force, flying into the cockpit with a "whoosh."
The next moment, blue, white, and red lights began to illuminate the dark cockpit, and a neutral, peaceful voice rang out.
"New World Explorer restarting..."
