Chapter 752: The Future Commander
Having stayed at Base No. 2 for nearly a month, Sun Cheng had finished handling all the work he had accumulated, as well as the arrangements for the coming period.
Calculating that he had stayed at Base No. 2 long enough, he worried that if he remained out of the public eye for too long, the attention that had originally been drawn to Trindade Island might shift in other directions.
Therefore, after giving Atlas and the others a final reminder to have the second batch of supplies for Mars ready within three months, he prepared to leave this place of comfort.
Not long after walking out of the control center, just as he was about to transform into his fighter jet mode to fly to Trindade Island, Sun Cheng saw a squad of Combat Robots walking over, carrying four strange life support devices that resembled Medical Pods.
He glanced at them curiously and couldn't help but let out a soft exclamation: "Hmm? Humans?"
Realizing quickly that these four humans being sent over were likely test subjects for Hades, Sun Cheng couldn't help but feel a bit uncomfortable.
After all, he was not like those Decepticons under Hades, who were Silicon-based Life from the moment of their birth.
Although these four test subjects being sent over included both men and women, mostly of white and brown races, they were, in the end, all humans.
"Forget it, it's probably just more prisoners Yuri got from somewhere!"
Hades' research involved many mysteries of the human body; by repeatedly studying various gene chains and attempting to alter them, manufacturing various Enhancement Serums, and so on, he indeed required a large number of test subjects.
Although he had relaxed most of the restrictions on Hades' research, it did not mean he had lifted them entirely.
Not to mention that inside the Frenzy Body itself, a human soul was hidden.
Just the fact that they, as Decepticons, were currently on Earth, and the masters of Earth were humans, was enough for Sun Cheng to never allow the Decepticons under his command to push humans to the opposing side because of some evil research.
Therefore, his instructions to Hades and Yuri only allowed them to obtain prisoners and gang members from prisons or chaotic regions in various South American countries to use as subjects.
Sun Cheng believed they could not possibly defy his orders, so he did not pay much more attention to it.
Watching the robot transport team head toward Hades' laboratory, he shook his head, turned around, activated his Optical Stealth Device, transformed back into fighter jet mode, flew into the sky, and soon disappeared from sight.
After nearly a few months, he arrived at Trindade Island once again.
When Sun Cheng flew over this sea area, his super-long-range vision even made him doubt for a moment if he had come to the wrong place.
"The changes are truly massive!"
Not in a rush to land on the island, Sun Cheng controlled his body in fighter jet mode and circled ten thousand meters above the island.
Decepticons possess super vision; for instance, his current electronic eyes were sufficient to observe micron-level matter within a range of dozens of meters under normal conditions.
Now, operating at full capacity and combined with his scanning function, he could even view nano-level matter.
At an altitude of ten thousand meters, it was not difficult to clearly observe the island below, which was only about ten square kilometers in size.
Trindade Island, which had been under construction and in use for several months, now had significant changes compared to when Sun Cheng left a few months ago.
The original buildings on the island were concentrated in the southeast corner, occupying about one-fifth of the island's area, which was the location of the Black Market.
Now, after a few months, most of the rugged terrain and hills in the eastern and northeastern parts of the island had been leveled by artificial means.
In their place were rows of dense Warehouses and neatly planned living areas.
The reason Sun Cheng suspected he had come to the wrong place just now was that he had looked down from the sky from afar and discovered that a large living area had appeared on the island.
The living area was planned with many hotels, bars, and other entertainment venues; at first glance, one would think they had arrived at a tourist-developed island resort.
However, the island's coordinates and outline, which matched his memory, clearly told Sun Cheng that he had not come to the wrong place.
The island below, which was becoming increasingly brilliant under the management of the Pioneer, was the very Black Market he had personally planned for trading with the major powers on Earth—Trindade Island.
The radar on the island could scan targets under Optical Stealth, so Sun Cheng's arrival was immediately discovered by the units stationed on the island.
Pioneer, Thunder, and Swindle all rushed over to welcome him after he landed on the island.
Taking a look at Pioneer, who seemed to have undergone some unknown changes recently, Sun Cheng nodded slightly and took the initiative to speak.
"Long time no see, Pioneer!"
Thunder and Swindle had only been sent over by him from Base No. 2 not long ago.
When he noticed Sun Cheng's gaze landing on him, Thunder showed no change, but Swindle, on the contrary, looked somewhat restless.
Because of Sun Cheng's deliberate arrangement, he already knew that the plan for his New Body had been indefinitely postponed.
As for the reason, Swindle had thought of it the moment he received the news.
He could be considered to have been by Sun Cheng's side for a long time, and he understood his methods, thoughts, and so on very clearly.
It was precisely because of this that Swindle looked so uneasy now.
Because he guessed that this was a test from Sun Cheng, who was waiting for his confession.
But once Swindle gave in, he would have no other choice left and would be completely tied to Sun Cheng's war chariot.
This stalemate seemed likely to continue for some time.
Fortunately, Sun Cheng was very patient; he was not in a hurry to deal with Swindle, because there was still some time left in the timeline he had reserved for Swindle.
"Commander!"
Pioneer bowed slightly, appearing very respectful.
Managing the Black Market alone for these few months, his progress had been truly immense.
Pioneer had been by Sun Cheng's side since he was first Awakening, so he had been deeply influenced by him, subconsciously learning from him intentionally or unintentionally.
However, in the past, Pioneer's actions could at best be considered imitation.
He was imitating Sun Cheng's way of thinking, but because Sun Cheng was there calculating everything, he never needed to think seriously about why those decisions were made, or why those decisions led to those results!
Over the past few months, without Sun Cheng as the 'Brain', he had to manage and operate the Black Market alone, needing to face the greed and cunning, kindness and malice of humans directly.
Fortunately, he was a powerful Decepticon Warrior.
Perhaps Pioneer could not compare to those human politicians who visited the Black Market and tried to benefit from him when it came to conspiracies and calculations.
But Pioneer held combat power comparable to the army of any small European country, and behind him lay the increasingly powerful behemoth that was Base No. 2.
Therefore, although he had fallen for quite a few schemes, he had never suffered a major loss.
It was precisely in the constant struggle with these humans that Pioneer progressed rapidly, gradually moving out of his blind imitation of Sun Cheng, beginning to understand his thinking patterns, and gradually possessing his own criteria for thought.
Watching this increasingly steady subordinate, Sun Cheng suddenly felt a sense of emotion in his heart.
The subordinate he valued most was maturing day by day; perhaps before long, he would have a Commander under his command who could stand alone, and he would no longer need to calculate every single aspect by himself.
