Chapter 76: Fierce Battle with the Autobots (Part 2)

~7 min read 1,400 words

Although Optimus Prime's strength is inferior to Megatron's, he is, after all, the Leader of the Autobots.

Seeing that Megatron's steel spike was about to pierce him, he struggled to extend his right hand and gripped the spike tightly, refusing to let it drive down.

"You are still fighting for the weak, Optimus Prime... You once possessed the same royal crown as I did. I once thought you would do better than Sentinel Prime, but you have disappointed me..."

The ferocious-faced Megatron stared viciously at Optimus Prime, his hand involuntarily exerting more force, and instantly the tip of the steel spike in his hand pierced through the surface armor of Optimus Prime's chassis.

"You have gone mad, Megatron..." Optimus Prime gripped the steel spike tightly with one hand, while his other hand clenched into a fist and struck heavily against Megatron's ribs, "War, plunder, expansion—you will lead Cybertron into hell!"

"Cowardly rhetoric!"

Megatron let out a cold snort, suddenly raised his hand to grab Ironhide, who was attempting a sneak attack, roared, and violently slammed him against the ground four or five times in a row, throwing him away dazed and confused.

This moment of relaxation gave Optimus Prime, whose strength was not much inferior to his, a chance to resist.

He kicked Megatron away, stood up while bracing himself, summoned a short cannon, and fired a shot directly at his chest.

"Boom..."

The violent explosion forced Megatron to retreat more than a dozen steps before he stood firm. He bared his teeth, revealing a mouthful of ferocious, sharp fangs, and stared viciously at Optimus Prime, his eyes filled with killing intent, "It seems you have already chosen your own graveyard, so let me send you on your way!"

He lunged forward to ram into Optimus Prime. Optimus Prime did not dodge, but instead assumed a defensive posture to block him. As a result, he was quickly pushed back repeatedly by Megatron, whose strength was superior, leaving two long, shattered tracks on the highway with his feet.

Sun Cheng had no intention of landing on the ground at all, looking down from the sky and continuously strafing the several Autobots on the ground.

With Megatron attracting the aggro below, the several Autobots clearly all had the intention of taking advantage of the situation to eliminate this old rival—the leader of the Decepticons; clearly, such opportunities for many against one were rare.

But was Megatron really that easy to deal with?

As the most powerful Decepticon, and possibly even the most powerful mechanical Warrior on the planet Cybertron today, he was synonymous with power itself. One only needed to see how he could take on four opponents—all of whom were either Autobot leaders or Elite Warriors—without falling behind to know this.

Sun Cheng's chassis strength was also far inferior to those melee fanatics below, so with Megatron attracting the aggro, he was happy to sweep back and forth above the sky. The Vulcan Cannon under the drone's belly, which had been modified by the AllSpark, was quite powerful. Although it was not as good as Bumblebee's Laser Cannon, anyone who took a round of his strafing would find their chassis covered in bullet marks and fine cracks.

Just as he was having fun, unexpectedly, Megatron's cold voice suddenly rang out in his mind again.

"Go, chase down Bumblebee and bring the AllSpark to me!"

"Yes!"

Sun Cheng paused, but he immediately agreed. He then turned the nose of his aircraft, adjusted his altitude, and chased after Bumblebee and the human convoy that had long since disappeared into the distance.

He knew very well that he was no match for Bumblebee, but this was Megatron's order. In Frenzy's memories, this was a figure like a Tyrant who absolutely did not allow anyone to disobey him.

He could tolerate Starscream's repeated rebellions, but he would also suppress him with the most cruel means after every rebellion, and then, with a wicked personality, wait for the other party's next challenge.

Facing such a figure like a Tyrant, he really wished he could stay as far away as possible; Megatron's order actually worked out in his favor.

Spreading his wings in the sky, Sun Cheng made a brief judgment and then flew toward Las Vegas again.

In the city near the Sector 7 Base, Las Vegas was currently where the most human troops were stationed. Considering the human tendency to stick together, even knowing that the area had been attacked not long ago, they would likely still be heading there.

He flew very fast, and after a few minutes, he caught up with the convoy speeding along the highway, and at the same time, he caught sight of Bumblebee, who was being tightly protected in the center of the convoy.

"Da-da-da..."

After lowering his altitude, Sun Cheng dived and strafed for a while, quickly taking out two human escort vehicles. He was just preparing to press his advantage and destroy all the U. S. soldiers except for Bumblebee.

Suddenly, accompanied by the shrill warning sound of the Spy Template, Sun Cheng's expression changed drastically. He hurriedly pushed his speed to the limit, adjusted his nose, and shot straight up into the sky at a ninety-degree angle that was nearly impossible for humans to achieve.

"Boom..."

"Boom..."

The shrill sound of explosions rang out on the ground. Only then did Sun Cheng see that a squadron of fighter jets had already flown in from afar, sixteen in total, and they were all F-16 Fighter Jets.

"Trouble..."

His heart sank, and Sun Cheng hurriedly accelerated to continue gaining altitude, but he soon realized this was not advisable. Although the F-16 could not maintain a super-high speed of over Mach 1 like he could, its top speed was clearly two or three points faster than his current one. As long as Sun Cheng was stuck to by them, with the power of the U. S. military's Missiles, he would be done for after taking three or five hits.

At this moment, he could no longer care about his own little schemes. Sun Cheng hurriedly activated long-range communication, locked onto Blackout, and sent his current coordinates, "AllSpark discovered, come support immediately!"

Compared to Blackout, Starscream was clearly the best air combat master within the Decepticon Legion, but this guy was simply too dangerous. If the AllSpark were to fall into his hands, Sun Cheng reckoned he would never see the AllSpark again in his life. If he hadn't been truly forced into a desperate situation, he reckoned he wouldn't even have notified Blackout.

"Understood!"

Blackout's efficiency was high; almost only three or five seconds later, he sent a short communication.

This amount of time seemed very short, but on the battlefield, it was not so; it was already enough for that U. S. military fighter squadron to lock onto Sun Cheng and launch a kill mission against him.

"Whoosh..."

"Whoosh..."

That U. S. military F-16 squadron clearly fired four air-to-air Missiles at him as a test. Upon sensing several active radar guidance locks on him, Sun Cheng panicked for a moment, but he soon calmed down.

He adjusted his nose altitude slightly, and while continuing to climb to high altitude, he actively charged into the formation of the U. S. military fighter squadron.

The first round the U. S. military fired at him were four AIM-120 medium-range air-to-air Missiles. These things had a speed as high as Mach 4 and quickly caught up to Sun Cheng's vicinity.

However, his reaction was not slow either. Although this U. S. military squadron performed tactical evasive maneuvers in a panic, the maneuverability of humans controlling fighter jets was far inferior to that of a Decepticon-transformed aircraft. He soon closed in on an F-16 Fighter Jet.

"... Oh no, God..."

Sun Cheng flew past him almost face-to-face; he could even see the panicked expression of that U. S. military pilot inside the cockpit.

He gave him a cold smile, suddenly transformed back into human form, and immediately fell toward the ground under the influence of gravity.

The next moment, several Missiles accurately struck that unlucky F-16 Fighter Jet, and the sound of the violent explosion resounded through the heavens and earth.

PS:

Sorry, I'm a bit late. After getting off work today, I went to an internet cafe with my best friends to play a few rounds. My blind operations were so bad that I was a total burden even in ARAM!
