Chapter 787: Armed Transport Ship (Part II)

~7 min read 1,222 words

With finally one more Elite Warrior under his command, Sun Cheng felt the pressure on his shoulders lighten somewhat.

As the number of Advanced Warriors and Elite Warriors under his command continued to grow, there was no longer a need to keep so many Low-level Warriors stationed at Base No. 2.

In other words, many of the Low-level Warriors under Sun Cheng could be liberated and begin rotating.

Upon entering the medical room, Pioneer saw Swindle's head inside the incubation tank.

He was aware that Sun Cheng had always wanted to win Swindle over, while Swindle had remained indecisive.

It seemed that Swindle had finally exhausted his master's patience.

Sun Cheng noticed his gaze and said in a very flat tone, "I already gave him a chance. Previously, Thunder reported to me that during his time at Base No. 2, he had sent remote communications to someone!"

After the Black Market was attacked, recalling Swindle's previous behavior, Sun Cheng couldn't help but break out in a cold sweat.

If the specific coordinates of Base No. 2 were exposed, even though the air defense forces deployed there were at least as strong as those on Trindade Island.

Air defense forces were not omnipotent; if a group of Replicant Warriors actually succeeded in landing and he was not at Base No. 2, losses would be inevitable, and they would only be greater than those here at the Black Market, not fewer.

This was the final straw that broke the camel's back, and it was for this reason that Sun Cheng decided to take action against Swindle, completely eradicating this bomb that could be detonated at any time.

Swindle was not one of his original subordinates; he was completely different from Thunder and the others, as he had been poached from Starscream.

Therefore, Pioneer did not feel any "fox mourning the death of the hare" sadness; he nodded and found an excuse to prepare to leave.

"Master, I have been away from the island for some time. When the Replicant Warriors attacked a while ago, I happened to be changing my body, so I am not very familiar with the current defense situation on the island. I am just about to go take a look!"

Sun Cheng did not expose him. "Go ahead, and be prepared at all times. In a few days, I plan to go to New Iacon again; this time, you will come with me!"

"Yes!"

After Pioneer left, the entire medical room was left with only Sun Cheng and the half-dead Swindle.

Looking at the head that had been removed by his doctors and was now only kept alive by the Energy Liquid in the incubation tank, his face showed neither joy nor sorrow.

"Let me see what kind of mischief you've been up to behind my back!"

He muttered, then walked to the incubation tank and pressed his hand against it.

The next moment, dozens of metal probes pierced into the incubation tank, linking directly to Swindle's head.

Soon, a strange blue light began to emerge in Sun Cheng's eyes, and various ancient Cybertronian characters flickered constantly in his pupils as segments of memory and information surged into his mind.

The memories of Swindle before and after his Awakening were being continuously read by him.

This brazen act of prying into his most secret Memory Data soon alarmed the dormant Swindle; under the immense threat, his Core forcibly awakened the dormant Swindle.

"... Stop, Frenzy, what are you doing..."

Swindle, whose consciousness was gradually clearing, soon realized what was happening to him.

Unfortunately, when he tried to control his body to fight back, he quickly discovered that his body was gone.

"Only realizing it now? Too late!"

Through the transparent glass cover of the incubation tank, no emotional fluctuations could be seen on Sun Cheng's face.

Even after Swindle woke up, forcibly prying into Swindle's Memory Data was not difficult for him at all.

This was a contest of Core computing power, defensive strength, and decryption ability; clearly, Swindle was inferior to him in all these aspects.

Under Sun Cheng's terrifying computing power, which far exceeded Swindle's by a thousandfold, the defenses and fake memory banks the opponent had struggled to construct within his Core were quickly wiped clean.

He even used his own computing power to gradually take over his senses; in the end, Swindle could not even make a sound, and could only use his final bit of computing power to send out messages directly to beg for mercy.

"Spare me, Frenzy... no, Master... I promise to offer you absolute loyalty... no... Master, please give me one more chance!"

Unfortunately, Sun Cheng was not moved in the slightest by his pleas.

In his own words, why only think of pledging loyalty to him now?

He had previously given Swindle ample time and trust, and had even once let his Decepticon Engineer design a new Elite Warrior-level New Body for Swindle.

Too late!

Without hesitation, he forcibly destroyed all of Swindle's resistance, wiped his consciousness, and then began to quickly read Swindle's memory information.

As segments of Memory Data were continuously read, he gained a much better understanding of Swindle.

Swindle's memories were not complete; clearly, although this unlucky fellow who had once been tricked by Starscream into rebelling against Megatron had saved his life due to Megatron's orders.

However, after having his memory wiped and his personality reshaped, Swindle had been serving the Decepticon Legion under the name of Scrapper.

In the process, even Swindle himself did not know how many times he had died.

Because his Memory Data had been wiped, Swindle being able to awaken his past-life memories this time was purely a coincidence among coincidences.

The memories of his past life in his mind were incomplete; only the bone-deep hatred and fear toward Starscream and Megatron were the clearest, and everything else was scattered and difficult to connect.

There was one thing Sun Cheng had indeed misunderstood: this former Decepticon arms expert had indeed forgotten many memories related to powerful weapons and equipment from the Cybertronian Elder Council era.

But he felt no guilt at all, because Sun Cheng's guess was not wrong either.

This guy had indeed been engaging in small schemes behind the scenes; using the excuse of manufacturing weapons for Base No. 2 to take extra materials was just a daily routine.

Swindle had actually been diligently collecting intelligence on Base No. 2, as well as inquiring about the whereabouts of his former superior—Onslaught, and the elder Decepticon—Jetfire.

During Sun Cheng's trip to Mars, Swindle had taken the initiative to contact Lockdown.

He had deceived Sun Cheng and everyone else; this guy had not followed his instructions to send an invitation when he first contacted Lockdown.

Swindle had deliberately omitted many things; the relationship between him and Lockdown was not that of friends or anything else, but merely strangers who had collaborated a few times in the past, nothing more.

The arms expert and Bounty Hunter—Lockdown had no friends and only accepted employment contracts.

Sun Cheng's previous threats had made Swindle hate him as well.

So he issued an employment contract to Lockdown, hiring this most powerful Bounty Hunter among the Wanderers to come to Earth.

And there were four targets to be hunted in the contract: Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, and Sun Cheng.
