Chapter 816: Sentinel Prime Awakens (Part 2)
Banzhou's words were truly a case of attacking the heart, leaving the surrounding Autobots in an uproar.
The hot-tempered Ironhide was full of rage; he suddenly raised his foot and brought it down heavily onto his head.
"Shut up, you traitor who attacked comrades and stormed a vital facility. You should be sent to a Military Tribunal, then hauled off to the mines for seventy years of hard labor!"
The Autobot Military Tribunal generally only imposes two types of punishments on criminals: capital punishment and hard labor.
Capital punishment is generally used for executing deserters, traitors, and Autobot Commanders who cause serious failures on the battlefield.
Hard labor is used more broadly and can be applied to all kinds of criminals guilty of dereliction of duty, theft, or breaking the law, though the duration of the labor sentence ranges from a few years to several hundred years.
Attacking comrades and storming a vital facility are already considered relatively serious crimes under the laws established by the Autobots.
If it were during the civil war, Banzhou would have been sentenced to at least three hundred years of hard labor.
Hmm, and this is even after Optimus Prime took over as Leader.
If it were during the reign of Sentinel Prime, capital punishment would have been inevitable.
Banzhou let out a cold snort and roared loudly: "You accomplices to tyranny, sooner or later you will all receive the most righteous judgment from the Yihui!"
Optimus Prime shook his head, looked at them, and said to Ironhide: "Take him down and lock him up first. After Bumblebee finishes the investigation, we will conduct a trial based on the results!"
Ironhide nodded, and after signaling to Shake and a few Autobots from the patrol team, the group quickly hauled away the cursing Banzhou and the other Autobots who had stormed the medical center, taking them to the nearest outpost to be temporarily detained.
New Iacon has not built a prison yet; it seems it will be necessary to plan for one during future expansions.
As the Leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime has experienced too much over the past hundred-plus years.
He has experienced even more malicious words meant to attack his heart; although he was indeed disgusted by the Autobot named Banzhou and was truly hurt by his words, this could not affect the will of a Leader.
Noticing that more and more Autobots were being attracted to the farce, Optimus Prime, while believing that the vast majority of Autobots supported him, decided after a moment of thought that it was necessary to say something.
He spoke up immediately, explaining: "I have noticed that recently in New Iacon, there have been various rumors of this and that nature."
"I believe many Autobots here already know that my teacher, Sentinel Prime, was rescued by us from the Moon three months ago."
"When we rescued him, his injuries were very severe, and he was also suffering from a very serious case of Cosmic Rust!"
As soon as the terrifying name 【Cosmic Rust】 was mentioned, many of the Autobots watching on the scene let out gasps.
The vast majority of them had no opinion on who the Leader was, because Autobot civilians were the side most averse to war and most longing for peace.
However, the Autobots were well aware of 【Cosmic Rust】, the terrifying infectious disease that once nearly destroyed the Quintessa Civilization and the Cybertronian civilization.
At the end of the First Civil War, due to the arrival of 【Cosmic Rust】, a large number of Autobots and Decepticons decayed and died from the infection, and even the civil war was forced to end prematurely.
Therefore, when Optimus Prime mentioned 【Cosmic Rust】, some of the Autobots who had originally been misled immediately felt a lingering fear.
And Optimus Prime continued speaking.
"Ratchet and other medical personnel have worked very hard to provide treatment for my teacher, but previously they only helped him deal with his external injuries and struggled to control the spread of 【Cosmic Rust】, only just achieving some results recently."
"I know many of you hope for my teacher's return, and I do too."
"Please rest assured, based on the diligent treatment we have provided for the teacher during this period, at most within these next few days, we will be able to perform the final Awakening for the teacher!"
"Alright, if you still have some trust in me, please wait patiently for a few more days."
"I promise!"
The surrounding Autobots soon dispersed. Optimus Prime watched the crowd gradually scatter, his brows slightly furrowed.
"Call Bumblebee!"
He said this to the Cassette Troops that had appeared on his shoulder at some unknown time.
"Received!"
The Cassette Troops hurried off to find Bumblebee, and after Ratchet finished a simple check on Brake-Neck and Mudflap, he came to Optimus Prime's side.
"Leader!"
He looked at Optimus Prime with some concern: "A few days, isn't that too rushed?"
Optimus Prime knew that Ratchet was referring to his promise to awaken Sentinel Prime in a few days. Although his lieutenant truly had his best interests at heart, as the Leader of the Autobots, there were some things he had to consider from a political perspective.
Optimus Prime had already reached his limit by delaying for over three months before starting to awaken his teacher, Sentinel Prime.
Whether politically or psychologically.
"We have no more time. Regardless of whether there is a conspiracy behind this, we cannot drag this out any longer!"
Optimus Prime looked at the crowd walking away, his expression very grave. "Today's incident is likely not an isolated case. Just now, in the crowd, I saw at least three Autobots whose behavior was highly suspicious!"
Ratchet understood!
Those Autobots who had been jumping around, inciting others to welcome back the old Leader, were not just the few who jumped out to cause trouble today; there were many more hidden in the shadows.
Optimus Prime worried that the attack on the medical center guards today, and the attempt to force their way into the medical center, was just a test or warning from those Autobots.
If he continued to delay, heaven knows what else they might come up with.
After all, in the past few months, over a hundred Autobots had arrived on Earth from all over the universe.
Among them were a considerable number of Autobots who were all unfamiliar faces to Optimus Prime and his group.
Ratchet was silent for a moment before nodding: "I understand. I will go and prepare the equipment needed to awaken Leader Sentinel Prime!"
"No need!"
Optimus Prime interrupted him, "After the news from Bumblebee returns, I will personally use the 【Matrix of Leadership】 to awaken him!"
Ratchet had good intentions, wanting to save some energy for the 【Matrix of Leadership】, but Optimus Prime did not have that much selfishness.
If it were confirmed that his teacher was fine, he would not mind returning the position of Leader to Sentinel Prime, and incidentally returning the 【Matrix of Leadership】 to him as well.
There was one thing Optimus Prime knew the troublemaking Autobot had not been wrong about.
The 【Matrix of Leadership】 was indeed kept by the Prime Dynasty long ago, so it was no exaggeration to call it a sacred relic of their lineage.
Although in Optimus Prime's own view, it should not belong to anyone, but to all Autobots.
