Chapter 819: Undercurrents Surging

~7 min read 1,295 words

On a stretch of Gobi desert near the East African Rift Valley.

Two heavy trucks, one red and one blue, were racing wildly along a simple dirt road on the Gobi desert. It was not until they reached a spot just tens of meters from the canyon that, after a series of crackling sounds, the red heavy truck rapidly completed its transformation, turning into a tall, fire-red mechanical warrior.

Shortly after, the blue heavy truck also quickly completed its transformation; it was Optimus Prime.

"What a peaceful and tranquil planet!"

Sentinel Prime stood at the edge of the canyon, quietly gazing into the distance and down at the canyon below, where a steel city of growing scale was gradually thriving in this corner unknown to humans. He could not help but feel moved: "Unlike our home planet Cybertron, which is left with nothing but the death of destruction!"

Optimus Prime looked at the tall mechanical warrior before him, thinking of the guidance and help his teacher had given him in the past, and could not help but say in a deep voice, "I often think, if I had been the one to carry out the task of transporting the Energy Pillars back then, and you, Teacher, had continued to lead the Autobots, perhaps we would not have lost the final battle to the Decepticons!"

Sentinel Prime looked up at the sky, remained silent for a long while, and then shook his head.

"You need not dwell on the past, just as I cannot see the future. The past is the past. After millions of years of war, I am tired, and I believe you are tired too!"

"Our home planet was destroyed by our own hands in the name of protection during the 'just war' against the Decepticons. Now that the war is over, perhaps this is a new beginning for it!"

"You have done very well, Optimus Prime. If not for you, the Autobots might no longer exist!"

Optimus Prime tapped his chest lightly, the armor on his chest opened immediately, and the Matrix of Leadership flew out from within.

He held the Matrix of Leadership in his hand, walked up to Sentinel Prime, knelt on one knee, and said, "Teacher, you were once our Leader. Now that you have returned, I hope you can continue to serve as Leader and lead us once again!"

Sentinel Prime's gaze lingered on the Matrix of Leadership for a moment. Feeling the Spark within his chest seemingly burning more intensely with its appearance, he knew he was tempted.

However, immediately thinking of the plan he had been plotting for so long, Sentinel Prime's will instantly firmed up again.

He smiled as he took the Matrix of Leadership that Optimus Prime had tossed over, took one look at it in his hand, and then laughingly tossed it back to Optimus Prime.

"You need not belittle yourself, Optimus Prime. In these few days, I have learned many things, and you have done very well."

"This planet called Earth is too unfamiliar to me, yet you have led our kin to gain a firm foothold on this planet and rebuilt our capital."

"For these points alone, you as a Leader are qualified. Perhaps I, who have slept for so long, should call you teacher now!"

Optimus Prime took back the Matrix of Leadership, his mood very complex.

He quietly watched his teacher, who seemed no different from the past, but in his mind, he could not help but recall the investigations Bumblebee had conducted over the past few days.

"Having toured every part of New Iacon and met with those Autobots who were previously under close observation and even participated in the assault on the medical center... Teacher, are you truly being used by the Decepticons, or have you really colluded with them?"

With the Awakening of Sentinel Prime, although this teacher of Optimus Prime had not shown any intention of vying with him for the position of Autobot Leader, or even the Matrix of Leadership.

However, with the investigations by Bumblebee and the others, more and more intelligence was now pointing toward Sentinel Prime.

Centered around him, the Decepticons seemed to be carrying out an operation they were not yet aware of.

"I hope we are just overthinking it!"

With his peripheral vision inadvertently sweeping over the growing New Iacon in the canyon below, Optimus Prime secretly swore in his heart that even if it cost him his life, he would defend this last home of theirs.

On the Dark Side of the Moon, aboard the Nemesis.

A ferocious laugh was emanating from a cabin on the ship; the owner of the laughter was Megatron.

Still in that incubation tank, Megatron, who was reduced to just a head, looked at the few Decepticons kneeling before him and let out bursts of low, ferocious laughter.

"Hahahaha... Blitzwing, you have come at just the right time!"

Ever since Megatron's consciousness was Awakened again, he had been trapped in a small incubation tank.

In the blink of an eye, more than half a year had passed.

Over the past half year, although Starscream had always been on call and treated him with the same extreme sycophancy as in the past.

But Megatron could see very clearly that this treacherous villain who hated him to the bone would have long since acted against his remaining head if not for the fear that he still held some trump cards.

However, although he did not show any disrespect on the surface, Starscream's underhanded actions in the shadows had never stopped.

Megatron knew without thinking that the death of Soundwave must have been related to Starscream.

Even the disappearance of Astrotrain and other Decepticons that Shockwave had originally sent to support and protect him, he suspected were also related to Starscream.

While telling Megatron that he was sending more personnel to mine ore everywhere for the construction of his New Body.

On the other hand, he took no action at all; Megatron even suspected that Starscream might not even be able to produce a single piece of ore for his New Body to this day.

However, all of this would be completely changed after this.

The reason was none other than that Megatron's most loyal subordinate—Shockwave—had sent another powerful Triple Changer—Blitzwing—over, and he was the Commander of this advance team.

With the arrival of Blitzwing, Megatron believed that it would not be long before he could leave this damn incubation tank.

Strictly speaking, Blitzwing was not a loyal subordinate.

In the past, when Soundwave's intelligence agency was investigating the interior of the Decepticon Legion, Blitzwing, along with Astrotrain, were among the Decepticons at the top of the most dangerous list.

But unlike Starscream, although Blitzwing also had ambition, he had at least never deliberately shown it in the past.

And the biggest difference between this guy and Starscream and Onslaught was that he was a battle-crazed maniac who preferred action over thinking.

Whoever could offer Blitzwing enough benefits to win him over, or provide him with a perfect stage to vent his power to his heart's content, then Blitzwing would be happy to accept any order from the high command of the Decepticon Legion.

This was also the reason why he had always been firmly suppressed by Shockwave for the past millions of years.

Thinking of this, Megatron's scarlet eyes fell upon the kneeling Blitzwing.

"Blitzwing, I have an important Task to entrust to you now!"

Blitzwing, kneeling before the incubation tank, suddenly raised his head upon hearing this, his face full of a ferocious smile: "I am very happy to serve you, Commander!"
